    I took this pack on a weekend, 2 night trip. I had a tent, quilt, xtherm mattress, 5 pounds of food and warm bed clothes for the 40 degree nights. Also had my cool kit, water bottles, sling back chair, sit pad and bathroom items. Very comfy and had room left over. You could totally use this for a week long trip if you pack light/ultralight.

    This is by far my favorite pack I own. It is the most versatile and well designed pack I've seen from Osprey thus far. Great product. Highly recommend.

    Is it okay for 2 day hike ?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 років тому +1

      Hey Martin! The Stratos is definitely capable of carrying 2 days worth of gear. That said, if you plan on only doing 2 day hikes, you might want to look for a pack around 35L-40L. If you are going on both longer and shorter hikes, then the Stratos is probably a good option. Thanks for watching!

    Did the Osprey replaced the Stratos 50 by the Stratos 44 variant? Because on their offical site the 50L variant does not exist anymore.

    I have purchased stratos 36 backpack from local dealer and it works just fine. It fits perfectly on my body. So far, there's no something to complain.
    But i wanna ask you something, since it makes me curious.
    Can i place water bladder/reservoir outside the backpack? I mean it's placed right exactly behind its backsystem.
    As far as I know there's sleeve inside the backpack, and i know it's for water bladder, but lately, i found a pic that says that i can put water bladder outside the backpack. (Im sorry i cannot provide both pictures since YT doesnt allow to upload pic on coment section). So which one is right?
    Looking forward to your response. Thank you for your attention.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 років тому +3

      The water bladder is designed to be carried inside the designated sleeve. You can certainly fit a bladder behind the trampoline-style backing, but it might change the feel of the pack against your back depending on how much you are carrying, so we do not recommend it. Thanks for the question!

    • @Enwild

      The Atmos is a trusted pack, it can handle more weight than the Stratos, and has more features. if you plan to carry a total pack weight of under 25 pounds, you could go with the Stratos. If you pack weight will be more than that, we'd recommend the Atmos!

    Hello! I have a 19 inch torso length, which fits right in the middle between the S/M and M/L for osprey's recommendation. I have a waist size on the smaller side. Should I go for the S/M or M/L in your opinion?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 років тому

      Hey, great question! We would recommend erring on the smaller side in cases like this. If you end up with a larger size pack than you need, there's a chance that you won't be able to tighten the hipbelt enough. With a smaller pack, you can be more confident that everything will fit securely

    Hey! This is coming rather late, but I wondered if this backpack could be taken on an airplane as carry-on when compressed or only lightly filled. I know if fully packed it's too large. Thanks!

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Saskia! The Stratos 50 has a frame, so it will be difficult to compress the pack small enough to work as a carry-on item, even if the pack isn't entirely filled. You're welcome!

    In your opinion, which one is better and more comfortable, between the Osprey Kestrel 48 or the Osprey Stratos 50, in terms of features, not in terms of capacity?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  2 роки тому

      Hi thanks for your question! The main difference between those two packs would be that the Kestrel has a Airscape backpanel, while the Stratos has a airspeed mesh backpanel. The Kestrel has a closer to body fit, while still offering breathability. The Stratos 50 is no longer in Opsrey's current line up, but if you would like to discuss comparable options, feel free to reach out to us at support@enwild.com

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  Рік тому

      Thanks for your question! Most pack manufacturers recommend selecting your size based on torso measurement, rather than height or weight. If you have never measured your torso before, here’s a video demonstration: trailsense.enwild.com/how-to-measure-your-torso-for-backpack-fitting/. Both the current models of the Stratos and Sirrus have a range of torso Adjustability. The Stratos will fit a larger torso, ranging from 18"-22" and the Sirrus is recommended for 15"-19" torso lengths.

    Is it good for going on long trips e.g a long train ride?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 років тому +1

      Trains don't usually have the same kind of size restrictions that airlines do, so should be no reason why this pack wouldn't be great for a multi-day train ride. The official dimensions are 28" x 14" x 15"

      Not sure exactly what you're asking. If you're looking for a good way to keep clothes stored neatly, regardless of what pack you use, packing cubes are a good way to go: www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-ultralight-packing-cube-set.html?.com&XoAsNs_faME

    I currently have an Exos 48 but miss the hip belt pockets, I have a galaxy note 9 would that fit? Also how would the harness compare to the exos 48 as I find above the low 30 pounds it starts to get a little uncomfortable.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  3 роки тому

      Hello, K the Samsung Note 9 should fit into the side pockets in a horizontal fashion. However, with something that long and straight fitting into a pocket that sits on a curved belt, you could very easily run the risk of cracking the screen if you put the wrong kind of pressure on it. I would do this at your own discretion.

    Is it good for a 10-12 days trip? I'm undecided between Stratos 50 and Farpoint 55.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 років тому

      Hi Giuliano, thanks for watching! They are pretty different packs so whichever is better will depend on your intended use. The Farpoint is designed more for travel, while the Stratos is a backpacking/hiking pack. For travel, i think either could work for 10-12 days if you pack light enough. If you're talking about a 10-12 day hike, it would be really difficult to do a section that long without resupply and only a 50 or 55 liter pack.

      @@Enwild Thank you very much for the answer. :)
      No, just for travel (maybe in the future for the Santiago's walk, max 15 days). Now I also show the Osprey Kestrel 48 and the Salewa Alptrek 50+5 (I'm losing myself in several backpacks).
      Which of these do you suggest me?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 років тому +1

      @@giulianocaterino4560 Gotcha! The Kestrel is an excellent all-around pack that could be used for hiking or general travel. The Farpoint is more-or-less the default option for travel and would be a great pack for that use. Either of these packs is an awesome choice!

    Hows the stratos durability from 1-10?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 років тому

      Thanks for the question. It depends on what you are comparing it to. Compared to most packs on the market in this weight range, we'd give it a solid 8.5 for durability.

  • @MarcM1979
    @MarcM1979 6 років тому

    Torn between this one and Stratos 36. I think i'd go for the 50 for the extra room on long hauls. Saw the comment about using it as carry on, I had same question. If removable lid is off, what are dimensions of pack? Not sure if removing it will help meet size requirements?? Great video! Thx!!

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 років тому +1

      With the lid off, the frame of the pack is about 23" tall. For most airlines, that's a little too tall to meet their carry-on requirements. If you absolutely need to carry-on your luggage, we'd recommend going with a pack that meets your airlines size requirements. Good luck!

    • @Affihnel

    Can Stratos 50 be used as a carry-on luggage in flights?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 років тому +1

      The S/M size is 25.6H X 14.2W X 15D (inches). The M/L size is 27.6H X 14.2W X 15D. Technically, that’s too large to carry on according to most airline rules, but some are less strict than others.
