    Warning about Bloated Corpses (learned the hard way): they can be revived after a battle, but they are revived with less than 25% HP which means if you immediately go to fight another battle, they will explode the moment you finish deploying troops.

    Hey man, as someone who's finally getting over the Total War learning curve, your videos are *incredibly* helpful for not only giving people an idea where to start, but also getting the preview of some of the units in action. Wouldn't enjoy the game nearly as much as I have without you man--thank you for the content!! :D

    Playing as Noctilus provides THE most free form IE campaign in the game. Galleons almost never gets sieged and you get to choose how you want to play the game without being pushed in any particular direrction. Late game all they need is Promethean Gunnery Mobs, Necrofex and Rotting Leviathans with a few mortars, cannons and Bess.

      As Noctulus i found it extremely fristrating to fight against highelves in earlygame on vh/vh. You have to travel to find your luck elsewhere.

      You can do the same with Cylostra Direfin as well. The Twisted Glade isn't unique like the other 3 lords starting settlements. After I wipe out The Forgebound, I abandon Twisted Glade & do as I please.

      Just be wary of taking over Caledor like the game guides you to, lest you find yourself swamped on all sides by angry elves for a hundred turns, fighting the same battles over and over.

    Also, I think it's a sin to mention Aranessa as feeling weak, without covering the single fact that she can delete 95% of lords in the game, in late game. Her anti large Kraken weapon gives AOE anti large, one of the rarest powers in the game. Combined with the animation she does (much like why Scorps are so good), she can DELETE Tyrion on his mount. Anything bigger than her dies, and she has an ability to net people down to do this. It makes her, like the Deathmaster, particularly specialized in the same role, only still functional in late game.

    What I found to be an effective formation when fighting as the Coast is to have the melee unit formation be tall instead of wide. This leaves lots of space for gunners to shoot through and they can still hold a front line as the enemies attack what's closest.

    Ive used these videos to help me research new factions and stats without learning the hard way through practice but these and the caimpain guides are amazing thank you man already have a hundred hours in this game no short thanks to your great guides making the game more approachable i will be recommending these to any new players so well made and done

    You've got the best guides, dude, keep up the hard work! Will you eventually be making IE guides for the new factions as well, since so many of them have radically different starting points from the normal campaign? Just wondering, since you've already done battle guides for them, and the game has blown up since IE came out.

    Just hate how well AI units can dodge Queen Bess now, I fought several battles where she only made like one or two hits because the moment she fired the target was already juking out of the way. It was super frustrating to watch.

      A really great way to "juke" the AI with Bess is to have a base mortars unit firing in tandem with her. With the mortars unit, actually target the unit you want to attack, and with Queen Bess use the Alt-Click targeting to have her fire on where you want her volleys to go, predicting where your target will move to avoid mortar fire. The AI runs from the targeted fire of the mortars, and they will likely try to not avoid Bess as much. Works especially great in walled sieges.
      If you want to get even more micro-intensive with her, her fire sound is *very* noticeable and has slow rhythm. Change her alt-click target area with every volley she launches to keep the AI "guessing".
      In field battles, just use Alt-click with her to target clumped frontline troops

      I found Bess had the best success (in TW2, anyway) when firing close, at the units behind the enemy's front after they hit my line.

    Luthor is a stupidly powerful duelist due to his mount, ranged attack and massive amounts of stats His questitem gives !!! 50% !!! reduced raise dead costs - with all the other bonuses you end up with a roughly 85% reduction allowing you to raise entire armies for cheap. Gunnery whights are actually insane powerful duelists that masacre monsters and lords/heroes - THEY FIRE IN MELEE so put them on a crab and watch them murder stuff in melee where everyone else brought a knife to a gunfight.

    In my opinon when playing gainst the High Elves the Vampire Coast can really end up struggling alot in MP. Especially if your opponent just spams missile cavalry and starts kiting. Other than that they have great ranged units but could use a little buff on their melee stats considering that you would have these units firing volleys at the front but at the same time making them vulnerable to really good long ranged missile and melee units.

    I thought these guys were terrible but once I started changing my Play style these guys are so deadly, I dont even use a proper Melee front line just cheap ranged and most get killed before they even get to my good units

    Personally I take one unit of depth guard to surround noctilus to keep him from getting swarmed but otherwise they're kinda not worth taking despite how AWESOME THEY LOOM

    When you play as high elves these guys are an absolute nightmare if they get a foot hold on the west coast. I watched them totally wipe out like 5 cities before i could mobalise a decently matched army to save my allies

    When you talk about the early, mid and late game comps you don’t mention the legendary lords…do you just not include them in any armies? Sorry for daft question but I’m new to the game :)

      The early mid and late game armies he provides are for generic lords. The LL's provide bonuses to certain units, and going over all of them would be tedious as by the late game their unit choices are almost all the same.
      Early game, they will all use deckhands and gunnery mobs except for Aranessa, who will mske use of Sartosan units.
      Mid game, they'll all be focusing on gunpowder units, though Cylostra will focus more on Syreens and Mournguls.
      Late game you'll either go for a combined gun line (i personally go for 6 deck gunners, 3 carronades and 4 Mortars with 2 gunnery wights and the rest as casters of vampires and deeps for the summons), or a monster stack (rotting leviathans, necrofex colossi or Death Shriek Terrorgheists with support from spellcasters and/or other heroes). Though maybe swap some of the casters out for more wights as needs require.
      Hell, I've even found a Depth Guard ball works surprisingly well against quite a few factions, with Vanhel's Dance Macabre boosting their attack to insane levels.
      But no matter what, have a vampires caster to heal your troops. Whether it's the admiral or a captain isn't really important.

    I must disagree with your compositions. Melee infantry are essential against large and varied armies, ambushes, sieges, and other threats. Don't know what army compositions the AI throws at you, but in my campaigns I've always faced massive numbers of flanking cavalry and reams of infantry charging the front. You try and face off against any mid to late game Lizardman army with the setup you've shown and I can't see how you aren't going to be losing nearly half your army per battle. And then of course there comes the point at which you are inevitably outnumbered, in which case a comp like this is disastrous.
    At least take some polearm deckhands to supplement your monstrous units, or even Depthguard. The all ranged comp with monster guards is fine for the low tier single opponent armies, as you can focus many threats down before they reach your lines. But once you start facing more numerous high tier units it will struggle. Not to mention the effectiveness of magic on your slow moving and neatly stacked up gun lines.
    Just my opinion though.

      i def see what you’re saying but also gotta think if you get heroes or use like your lord or necro to kinda blob up their infantry all your gunners will just wipe them out so fast kinda same strat with dwarves(3-4 heroes rest quarrelers)

    How do I deal with High Elf archers in the early game?

      High elves hard counter early game coast, as the HElves basic infantry has a good shield and charge defense, and the Coast doesn't get good area damage and spells until at least the mid-game. I'd recommend steering clear of Ulthuan early on, but return later when you have your artillery to crush them.

      Mortars, scurvy dogs, bats/droppers (ranged ones can go into melee to tie up archers in a pinch), ogre merc cavalry.
      Early game expect to have to maneuver around a lot to get the enemy in an ideal position.

      @@sev1120 really, in my experience the elves are shredded by bullets easily. I have never had an issue with them and ulthuan is easier to defend late than a clump of settlements on the mainland

    Nah man, you don't keep the Bloated Corpse away from your own troops. What you do is you take a basic bitch Deckhands unit, ram them into nasty enemy elite infantry and then when they're busy dealing with the tarpit you run in the big boy. Putting on your best supervillain cackle while doing this is optional, but highly recommended. 🤪

      Gotta pay attention to line of fire, even small hills can stop them from drawing sight, so they demand you deploy based on the gunline more than the frontlint. Also they fire rather slowly, don't try to track fast units as they will slowly spin in circles trying to track and never actually shooting. Wherever possible use the Chevrons formation, it's their bread and butter

    so you're trading 120 models of armor piercing damage with gunnery mob handgunners for 24 models deck gunners with slightly more range? It doesn't make sense to me

      The deckgunners damage output is much better, especially late game. Because of range, armour piercing and firerate

    The so called priate in this game can’t do any sea battle and can only fight on land, they even don’t owe any vessel or fleets, just a small ship to move on map

      Yeah, as far as I know Games Workshop won't allow them to have ship battles: it's a separate part of the IP, which is already licensed out for another game Man of War.

      The small ship you see in game is just the flag ship of a fleet, just like seeing your one guy on the campaign map instead of the full army

      As someone who loves both the Vampire Coast and Naval warfare in general I think it's probably for the best. I'd love to see them implement naval battles but it would take a LOT of fine tuning to get it right.

      @@adam-petrovic Those ship battles are done by the same team that does the entirety of the rest of the game. Warhammer has the benefit of having what, three different teams working on it and its different aspects? They could certainly put one of them to focus entirely on naval battles as an update and get something good out of it.

    They have the worst ranged firepower of the ranged firepower factions. Outside of a Necroflex doomstack. One unit does not make them a good ranged faction. Thank you CA with nerfing them into the shithole they now are in.

      Those are t4~5 units. Meanwhile, vampire coast's t2 units (bomber zombies) alr have stupidly strong firepower. And it keeps getting better up to necrofex and queen bess. Gunnery wight and lore of the deep will amplify the strength even further.

      @@Centrioless I don't care what a t4 or t5 unit is. The fact of the matter is, Skaven Weapon teams are overpowered beyond belief. This isn't a controversial point. And other factions out range the ranged faction. It used to be, on release, that Vamp Coast could legitimately run their ranked units and do fine. Now they can't, outside of a single spam. Queen Bess doesn't even remotely count when it's a single unit for a single army. It is *not fun* to play.

      @@Centrioless No one cares about cost effectiveness when they played far better on release than now, with references to the changes being they were too strong at ranged... and then the company releases a series of busted ranged units like Skaven, which are also extremely cost effective.
      My dude. The PIRATE faction is outgunned in Campaign. F off.

    to be fair for aranessa, when she gets her crap mount, she gets pretty tanky with all of the armor it brings. plus, if you get banners that boosts armor or defense for her, she can be a nightmare to kill.
