- Amby and Bernie begin to install the automated telegraph system on the O Scale USMRR Aquia Line model railroad. The system uses Arduino microprocessors to generate the code so the conductors and engineers do not need to know it.
The dispatcher listens to the telegraph sounder and deciphers the message. The system uses USMRR dot code, a form of telegraph used in the civil war. It is similar to the semaphore flag system.
An amazing addition to an incredible model railroad. 👏
This is an incredible addition to the layout and really helps with the feel of operations in that era. I love it! Makes me want to learn Morse Code. ~Dave Foxx
That's awesome! In my friends layout in Missoula he has a telegraph and phoneline system for station agents to call the operator and then the operator calls up dispatch. then say we have orders for an extra we use the old morse code system to get a hold of the yardmaster at Farmington as he doesn't have a phone line.
I'm impressed.... great work, guys!!
Fascinating operations enhancement.
that is a pretty cool system to add.
Absolutely love this
Awesome feature! I like the accuracy of the period! Oh, and the visual effects on the run by videos is phenomenal! How is this done? Need to video an op session. Would be fun to watch. Thanks for sharing!
