I have found with this driver you should tee it up more, my old driver I always teed it lower and hit it decently, this driver is amazing!! It’s been 20 years since I’ve upgraded to a A1 Smoke Max and I could not be happier, I literally gained 30 to 40 yards the first round I played with this club and it’s only getting better the more I play with it and get used to it… I recommend this driver to anyone

That ball speed isn’t typical for 94mph . I’m about to turn 40 and had my left hip replaced a few years ago. My club speed is right around 94 and my ball speed is 140. Your smash was around 1.35 which screams low heel. If anything the fact that your spin stuck under 3k just says how great the driver is. The driver looks like a platypus? Uh huh
Tim Callaway, is that you?😂 I did say that the performance was good and solid build quality. But for me, I was using the improper shaft for me and that impacted my numbers and true swing. Reality is, it really was super boring as hell to hit. Sound was boring and feel was not as electric as Paradym X off the face. Also, WAYYY uglier than Paradym X. Qi10 and Darkspeed are way more fun in this years driver release. Cheers :)
Just traded my Callaway Rouge ST Max for a AI Smoke 12* Max Fast. I’ve gained 10-15 yds on average and the shaft , 40 G R2 suits this senior golfer quite well! As far as looks, that’s personal opinion, I like the looks feel and sound. You give the AI smoke Max a top grade on performance and quality. Try testing it with a regular shaft, you might have a different opinion!
That’s great! I’m in the same boat, completely agree looks and sound is personal opinion. I loved the Paradym X and felt the ball jump off that face. Possibly would feel that with the Ai Smoke MAX with a regular flex shaft, but overall it’s subjective for sure. Consistent performance is there, as you mentioned. I recently replaced my R9 with the Qi10 MAX. The ball speed and feel of the new TaylorMade felt phenomenal. I got ball speeds consistently up to 150mph, new territory for me. Glad you found extra distance with the Ai Smoke MAX Fast. Here’s to hitting them straight :) ~Cheers~
Not sure why you put personal opinion on the looks! Everyone I know thinks the smoke looks amazing? Strange review, the sound I think is also amazing, you must be looking at a different club than me lol. The Paradym was a nice looking club mind. I just swapped driver and 3 wood (From Qi10 to AI smoke) The Qi10 is terrible in comparison, totally disagree v the Qi10 it’s awful in comparison, have a Qi10 in 5 wood can’t wait to get rid of the thing! Ai smoke smashes the opposition! Suppose we’re all different
I haven’t met this Mr Everyone you speak of but Ai Smoke is a step down from Paradym, it looks like a kid designed it, but I’m glad it works for you. To each their own, that’s why there are so many different clubs lol Paradym and Paradym X blow the Ai Smoke out of the water. If you had a Paradym would you see it worth another $600 to get Ai Smoke? Can’t see the value there. Glad the performance of the fairway woods are awesome for you! Qi10 has been unreal for me :)
I didn't mention in the video, but I wasn't thrilled with the name choice either. Both due to what you said about the AI overuse, and how long the full driver name is. Just not very consumer friendly, in my opinion.
Why would a regular flex help you swing faster? Makes no sense...if the shaft is the same weight it shouldnt matter. You are spinning the ball WAY too much with this driver. I saw 3500-5500 Spin which is insane = shorter distance. You need a proper fit.
I agree Jay, thanks :) it was poorly worded, with my swing speed the stiff flex impacted the optimal energy I was getting at impact from the head.. slower ball speed, inconsistent contact, higher spin, etc. completely agree, I was fit for a Qi10 Max with regular flex and it’s completely optimal results.
