That was a busy day. We love to go to mega events with lots of vendors. It’s great to see all the different geo stuff. Glad you were able to grab the whereigo while out.
Thank you! Everything lined up so well for that day too. There was a community celebration event the day before as well, but it wouldn't have counted for that day.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun (except that Wherigo!) and I'm glad to have gotten that many caches in one day! It was good to see you at the mega event.
Thank you, that was a lot of fun! I like using Google Earth to show people where I'm geocaching and to give an idea of distances. I used it in the video you contributed to showing where in the world geocachers were from too!
Hey, we're tied! That's cool that you got the 12 in Seattle. My previous best of 7 was in Seattle as well (2013 Geocaching HQ Block Party) but it wasn't intentional, HQ has that diverse GeoTour nearby and I found those caches. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@GeoElmoGeocaching my team is called the deadliest cachers because when we first started geocaching, after we were done on the weekend we would watch the TV program deadliest catch while we ate dinner. It seemed logical to adopt the crab as our mascot. 10 years later, I am the only one left from the team that actively geocaches.
Thank you! 9 is great as well! Previously my busiest day was 7 caches, purely be accident when I visited geocaching HQ and did their HQ GeoTour. This was a lot of fun. Thank you for watching!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I could turn the footage into something. With some planning you could easily get that number up if you wanted to!
Congratulations. In July, I got 11 cache types in 1 day. No virtual or wherigo for me that day. I did get the GPS Maze, a CITO and my first webcam cache. A number of people went for 15 that day. In addition, there was a community celebration after the mega.
Thank you! It's funny how you and I both got a large number of cache types in a single day yet our cache types were different! There was a community celebration event the night before which I couldn't count toward my total, and we didn't have a GPS maze (still never been to one) nor a CITO in the area. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@GeoElmoGeocaching The mega I went to was in Ohio. The CITO and webcam caches were in Indiana about 60 miles away. People showed up at the webcam at 6 a.m. when it was still dark.
Wow, that's dedication! But that's a lot of fun too. I'm not sure how you take a webcam photo when it's dark but I assume it was good enough to qualify the cachers for the cache!
Congratulations! Turned out just fine. Maybe add a bit more audio overlay otherwise just fine. Glad you didn't just scrap it but went ahead and challenged yourself. Imagine planning ahead just a little what that might have been like or what a future vlog like this could be. Keep at it! Please.
Thank you, I appreciate it! The two vlogs I've done have really been about adventures more than caches, this being about having a busy geocaching day and the other about celebrating 10 years of geocaching finding caches in NYC. So, if I have any more geocaching adventures, I'll consider it! Since I created this, I've gotten a better phone and also a stabilizer, which should help a bit.
Thank you! I wanted to give people an idea of where I was geocaching, especially showing how I had to go out of the way for the last two. During the summer a trip to the shore isn't usually quick as it can be quite crowded, but I think the overcast sky and the wind kept people away, thankfully! I appreciate the comment.
I've noticed your maps but didn't realize you were using that software. I think maps help give the viewer the perspective of where you're geocaching, and I like doing that.
Thank you! It's a lot of fun to make it a challenge and works best usually when there's a mega event or something similar. Just search for the nearest of each cache type, put it into a list, and go for it!
We did 13 back in 2017, but only 11 officially counted (sans benchmark & waymark). As for that Wherigo, only 500 ft through that mess in shorts is child's play around here.
Using project-gc, only 11 of the cache types counted because I don't pay for membership to that site, but I just edited my "badge" with the lab cache that wasn't showing up. So if you look at my project-gc profile you'll only see 11, but I know it was 12. I'd still count yours (to yourself at least) as 13! I've never found a waymark but I have found a few benchmarks. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you! You could probably get 12 or more if you tried. I think the locationless and GPS Maze may be one-time only cache types (not sure), but for example if you did the ones I did with some planning, plus maybe a CITO or something, you could hit 12. But... 11 is great! It's better than my previous 7! Thanks for watching and commenting!
How many cache types made up your busiest geocaching day?
Nice job! Looked like tons of fun too! 🙂
Thank you, it was a lot of fun but tiring too! It was not just a busy day, it was tiring too!
Excellent video, fun to see all the 2021 Mega scenes too! kudos.
Thank you! The mega event was a lot of fun, thanks for putting that together.
Impressive amount of varied caches! Thank you for sharing your busy geocaching day. Greetings from Amandaro 🇳🇴🇳🇱
Thank you! It was a lot of fun working out all those cache types. Thank you for watching and commenting!
What a joy to spot the Cache Craft booth at this Mega!
You make some cool products!
@@GeoElmoGeocaching thank you very much!
That was a busy day. We love to go to mega events with lots of vendors. It’s great to see all the different geo stuff. Glad you were able to grab the whereigo while out.
Thank you! It was a busy and a fun day. It's always fun to check out what the vendors have, that's where I got my trackable name tag!
Extremely impressive. Hearty congratulations!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun!
Twelve in one day is pretty darn good in my book let alone making sure they were all different types. Thanks for sharing your busy day.
Thank you! Everything lined up so well for that day too. There was a community celebration event the day before as well, but it wouldn't have counted for that day.
Nicely done! You made this seem so simple, I think you will inspire more geocachers to attempt busy days!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun (except that Wherigo!) and I'm glad to have gotten that many caches in one day! It was good to see you at the mega event.
Busy day's no small feat. Nice job. Nice use of Google Earth for location transitions :)

A fun geocaching day. The most types i have in a day is 12. When we went to seattle in 2017.

Great job on the cache types. I particularly like your t-shirt. 🦀
Thank you! My crab is from Maryland, where I have family. What's the history of your crab?

Understandable not wanting to go in the bush! Least you still got to sign it!
Thank you! Ticks are tiny but can be very dangerous to your health! JSpeedy really helped out.
@@GeoElmoGeocaching yep I had a few on me last august! Pain in the A! That was from short grass somehow
Nice job!
Thank you! JSpeedy saved the day for me!
Good job! According to Project-GC the day we got more different types were 9 😎

An accidental 10 cache types is pretty impressive!

12 in one day.. well done..
Thank you! It takes some planning of course, and I was fortunate not to have logged the locationless cache before (as there is only one).
That was quite an achievement. Loved the google earth footage.
