I appreciate your videos. I can tell you really know your stuff. I follow other ESL teachers aboard in Asia channels, but only you and one other provide real, thoughtful, and practical advice with easy to watch delivery. Planning to move and teach aboard within the next year. Keep up the excellent content. Thank you 😊
Oh no!!! I’m so sorry to hear that Empress! It’s so surprising to me that I find so few videos that cover challenging experiences that others have had so I’m focusing on that for the next few videos. Were you in Tainan?
Good information, thank you for sharing! I'll be moving to Taiwan early next year to begin teaching during the Spring semester via Teach Taiwan. I'm looking into either working in Tainan or Kaohsiung rather than Taipei. Do you have any opinions on teaching in Southern Taiwan vs Taipei?
Hi Dyzzzo!! North is definitely much faster pace! More options of things to do - access to shopping, etc. More events (depending on the kind of events you like) Kaohsiung (the south) is also a great city. The pace is slower, the people are more friendly but it's still a big city. Lots of expats and meetups, concerts, etc. Cost of living is higher in Taipei. Both cities have great transportation and it rains less in Kaohsiung. :-)
@@LeahLivesAbroad yes, one of the reasons why I wanted to work in southern Taiwan was the cost of living compared to Taipei. I'm glad you're enjoying it down there 🇹🇼
For a fresher, with no government issued teaching license what do you suggest to start with; as an Assistant language teacher or as a cram school teacher? Which of these has High potential to get you into a full time foreign English teacher in future? ❤ Do Reply
@@vishwarupdev4055 I would suggest cram schools like Hess or the like but please be diligent and do your research. Your experience will vary from franchise to franchise! ❤️
I love your energy and how you explain things. I work in Korea and I want to move to Taiwan because I heard that in Taiwan you get the chance to also teach your Major subjects in English and not only Esl. So, do you have any information about that? What subjects are taught in English and as of 2024, how is the cost of living vs The salary you get? Thank you once again ❤️
Good morning Lina!! TW is leaning towards ESL teachers teaching in other fields. The other areas vary from school to school and my cost of living video is coming out next week. If I missed something please let me know how I can help!
Stagnant since 1980? - Yikes! - Scary how much pressure the co-teacher's are under. I wonder why they get so much flack as opposed to the teacher themselves?

I glad you are doing this topic. My experience wasn't good. 😒

@dyzzzo have you made a decision where you’d like to be?
@@LeahLivesAbroad the school hasn't been chosen yet but I did provide my interviewer with my preference of being in Tainan or Kaohsiung
@@dyzzzo How exciting!! Best of luck to you and your process!!
OMG 🤯🤯, the fact that we aren’t allowed to teach certain things until their in the 3rd grade it’s still mind boggling to me
