With all this talk about wiping hands on pants, which I agree is useful if the pants can stand up to it, let’s not forget about aprons. I’ve come around to those later than I should have, and it’s saved me a lot of ugly surprises on laundry day. They don’t have to look like the 50s, either-there are some pretty nice ones out there now that have a good minimalist design. Thanks for the video and family cameo! Love the wood in your new place.
Our styles are very different but I love it when you talk about concepts. My version of the beige pants is a black circle skirt. I wear it to work with a blouse or any other neutral top, with a graphic T-shirt in my free time, with a sweater in the colder months. Short tights in summer, long tights in winter, woolen tights when it's freezing, colourful tights when I feel like it... I don't wear gold jewellery but I have a pair of silver earrings that can technically be described as hoopes, have some interesting details, are not too small but very lightweight. I wear them all the time to lots of different occasions. I will never ever wear a tank top or white, but I recently acquired a higher quality black t-shirt that feels very sharp. I love wearing it on different occasions! I got an oversized beige linen blouse and I love it! I am plus sized and feel so lucky to have found a blouse that looks really oversized on me and drapes nicely. Chelsey boots are not for me. But I have a pair of nice black laced boots that fit the same niche.
@bernadette8727 Thank you for sharing your versions of these versatile items, it is inspiring to have more ideas to consider as I think about what is most versatile for me. Also, I am picturing some of the outfit combos you are describing, and they sound so goood!

would love to see a video from you about looking/feeling put together as a new mom of a newborn, with pieces that are easy to keep clean and low maintenance.
I bought an oversized white linen shirt as a light summer jacket over my tanks back in late May when I spotted it in a store I’d gone into to replace the black pants I love. I’m wearing the daylight out of it. I think I paid full price but I figured the cost per wear would be worth it. It’s already earned its keep. Really enjoying it with my black tank and black pants & sandals. Straw hat, black sunglasses and gold earrings. Longchamps le Pliage in black with brown leather trim.
would love a clothing/accessories care video. not that I don’t know this information already (somewhere up there), I would just like a relaxing, articulate, well-lit video refresher that I can put on while I wash dishes.
You're entirely right about cotton poplin. I tried a cotton poplin button down shirt from Arket a few weeks ago. And it looked and felt like a stock standard waitering staff shirt. I felt like a waiter at a restaurant in it. I looked like I was a teenager going to her first interview for an internship. And not in the cute way. In the way that looks like I'm trying to dress "older" so that I'm "taken seriously", and it looks like such a faux pas. Ugh. That was a big no for me. The fabric felt terrible too. Hard and starchy and stiff and just stuffy. Absolutely no way, no thank you ma'am. Thank you for going into such vivid detail about fabrics. It makes me so much more careful about the pieces I'm choosing for my wardrobe. Love this video. Thank you, Hannah. And also loved the Joe and Baby cameo 😊❤
Another versatile pant suggestion: the Madewell Harlow pant. Comes in all the size iterations (petite, tall, curvy) and they are so comfy and breathable.
The shoulders-up view of this look is really giving me elegant woman in a film. In the most complimentary way, a Transatlantic accent wouldn't feel out of place ❤

Can you do a video about garment care? I don’t know what I’m doing. And I’ve recently started added linen and wool to my wardrobe. I have some idea. But I’d love to know best practices, pro tips, anecdotes of learning the hard way, etc.
Lug soled Chelsea boots have been a staple in my wardrobe for many years now. They are so easy to dress up and down, I can wear the ones I have gardening, hiking, on a casual walk, or I can dress them up and wear them to a casual dinner. if they were in black, they'd be easier to dress up, but they're a dark mushroomy brown color, which looks great as they age and stain.
I have all of these things, but in black (I can't wear white for more than five minutes without getting a spaghetti stain, even when there's no spaghetti around), and silver!
I am not responsible enough (basically I never quite SERVE) to wear a crisp white tank that relies on maintaining its crispness. BUT the white tank that serves a versatile, want to wear it in so many occasions dressed up or down role is a graphic white tank. Specifically mine is from a little brand “euphoric outfitters” with a print from a vintage lesbian magazine cover. It says boldly “Dykes only! Men who needs them?”
Do you have some style tips for breastfeeding moms? Between breastfeeding consideration and dissatisfaction with my postpartum body, I've just been wearing the same few outfits on rotation 😢
My baby is 22 months and we’re still going strong. Unfortunately, my preferred style is not breastfeeding friendly (lots of cottage and peasant dresses but not many with buttons). I’ve just accepted that I can wear my favorite stuff to work and then I have to change when I’m being mom. Some things are just getting packed away until I’m done. I think it also depends how shy you are too. Right now I’m wearing a lot of tees and peasant tops and just pull it up to give her access. I don’t tend to care if I’m not perfectly covered. Peasant tops are flowy enough to be somewhat discreet. I think it also depends on personal style, anything with buttons would work well but I don’t tend to like that kind of thing, so it’s really just one top I have like that.
I had my 2nd baby in March and I breastfed my first for 2 years so I have a fair amount of breastfeeding clothing experience :) I love wearing dresses in the summer so I bought a bunch of button up sundresses on Poshmark for cheap and have been wearing them constantly. I've also found that I can wear some of my looser/stretchier tank top dresses and slip the strap off my shoulder, that pretty much exposes my whole boob though so YMMV - I'm not shy! Shirt wise I will wear pretty much anything and just pull it up to feed. I do miss being able to tuck things in though, it's too much of a hassle if I'm going to be untucking it to feed. I also feel you on the postpartum body woes. My body changed a lot more with my second than with my first for some reason. I have been taking it as an opportunity to try out different styles but it is definitely a mindf*ck to have my old clothes not fit the same anymore, even though my weight hasn't changed much, my actual body shape is different now.
@@Wanda-v4b I used the book "Booby Moon," basically it's a story for the kid and you do a little ritual to "let the booby go" and it worked quite well for us. There were a couple of meltdowns asking for it afterwards but really not bad at all!

❤️❤️Love your videos! (1) IMHO You have remarkably good taste (2) Unlike most “influencers” you understand the $ constraints of 99% of women concerning fashion (3) You’re concise, to the point and not blathering on in some pretensious (sp?) accent. Love, love, love my white t’s, white linen shirt and will be looking into your fav pants. My style. THANK YOU
Love this. I’d be curious if you have tips for brands that actually make high quality footwear. I find price alone isn’t the answer, but I don’t necessarily know which brands currently make good quality footwear. Other than maybe the orthopedic type brands, which I don’t always love aesthetically.
i remember when lug soles boots were starting to really have a moment and it was just a new trend that i couldn’t find any great quality ones on the second hand market yet and the fact that is has kept going makes me so happy because now they’re everywhere
Oversized-ish linen is gorgeous, so gorgeous -- on other people. I wish my body shape suited that silhouette but alas! It does not. I just look like I'm wearing a potato sack. 😅 I shall live vicariously through Hannah and you who can pull that off.
Great core pieces and forever clothes. I am glad you are addressing fabric care as well. This why we do our own laundry, carefully. I have 15 year old lug soled Chelsea boots. I would also offer Birkenstock “Boston” slides. I get a narrow fit and they are super comfortable and super versatile. I can wear socks or tights or nothing with them. I can wear these with anything in any season. I love the new Machete earrings.
Im seeing lug soles on the way out in loafers this year but still going strong on a boot because they will always be more utilitarian. Lugs are often just functional!
Men's cargo pants for me have served as that wide leg versatile bottom. I have denim and summer weight cotton. I love the loose leg. They make it easy to look cool.
I always prefer to thrift whenever possible because aside from looking at the quality of the garment and its materials, buying second hand almost guarantees it will stand the rest of time. It’s already been lived in, broken in, washed, and survived being in donation bins and thrift stores, so I don’t have to worry about it falling apart as much as if I bought it new.
My only problem with this is that the detergent smells almost never go away from thrifted garments (esp if mixed fabric) for me. I have pretty sensitive skin and the detergent residue from most brands makes me get a rash.
I love a bright weight tank top but I need to invest in lobster bibs or something to desperately try and avoid coffee stains within four minutes of getting dressed.
Hi Hannah I saw your tinted lip balm videos so even though that’s not what this video is about I just really wanted to recommend you trying out the Violette FR bisou balm cause I have also been trying to find my perfect not too pigmented tinted lip balm and I finally found it, it’s a matte lip balm so it’s not as hydrating as some other ones but it’s also not drying and the level of pigment is just perfect, love your content btw 🤍🤍🤍
Hi! For the whites! Indigo liquid, which 'bluing' in the rinse water, is my best friend for my white clothes. It makes them extra crisp white! The Greek sun highlights white, but is also relentlessly revealing if white is not white. But, Read the instructions!
This past season, I purchased the Sperry brand rubber Chelsea boots they have them in many color ways, but the black thick bottom sole with the white rubber top were my favorite and they were my most worn shoe from the time I stopped wearing sandals to the time I started wearing sandals again. Also because because they are rubber, they cleaned up so easily with a magic eraser.
I've had some pleasant surprises shopping at Lora Gene. All their designs are very loose and fairly oversized, but the shoulder measurement is on poiny, which gives me hope that the garments I've bought have a lot of body versatility.
@@kb9239 ooh I love an accurate shoulder measurement. My shoulders are proportionally wide compared to what companies think they would be given my bust/waist measurements, so I’m always playing Russian roulette with online ordering that doesn’t give that information.
Love your hair! Nice to get a glimpse of hubby and baby too. I’m 65 and struggling to form an outfit for a semi formal event especially when my style is quite casual. Any ideas? Please
We are gonna need a house tour when it's all done and settled. Those doors with the slats and cute porcelain (?) knobs. Omg. You are so inspiring, and its so sweet to see how your life has blossomed in just the few years ive been watching you!
YES! I wear the same things over and over, so versatility is SO important! Also, your jewelry looks flawless. Just wondering, what is your take on undertones (warm vs cool etc.) and jewelry? The gold is gorgeous for you, but also do you wear silver? Do you think it makes a difference? I've been thinking about this for myself and wondering the best way to go.
Brilliant Hanna! I was looking for a lot of these things and I agree. On all account! Some are all year around some are just winte or just summer for me living in Sweden so a bit all over the place(capsuls) which is perfect for me as I will leave to go to Florida in November and look forward soo much to shopping some of them! And your book! Cheaper than shipping in Europe 👌
I’m sure you have been asked many times, but I would love to hear a podcast on fashion, lifestyle, relationship itself from you. And in the meantime, I will simply listen to old videos of yours on repeat.
The way I PERKED up at the chelsea boot and earrings like.. I own those! I really like the ones I own! But I have very specific outfits that I wear them with, have I been sleeping on how versatile they can be? Time for some outfit experimentation!
I also own the magical Grenson boots that I got in the sale 2 years ago, and I can co-sign this entirely. I was actually on their site earlier today searching for a dark brown pair because I wear the black ones all the time and I want the same but different!
These things are very personal-style specific, though. I would not have added ANY of them to my wardrobe. They would clash with my style, the rest of my wardrobe, and my body shape alike. Nope.
I tend to agree. The best videos I’ve seen on style are from Daria A. She’s amazing. One of the things she said that really stuck with me is you don’t need basics at all unless your style is basic. It shifted my thinking a lot. It’s not that I never buy something like a basic tee anymore, but I really question any list that’s universal.
I agree. This is not my style at all and does not suit my body type, except for the oversized linen shirt. It would be good for everyone to understand how to dress their own body type given where they go and what they do. It is a conundrum for many, but I learned decades ago how to do it for myself. I wear classic clothes cut in specific ways that suit me. I do not even care for that type of hoop. I do wear small gold circles in three ear holes and two dolphin shaped earrings which some would say are hoop like, but I can see the difference. I wear black jeans as my basic. I layer them with everything from linen to cotton to silk. When I was still teaching at university, I used basic blazers over my jeans in classic fabrics from tweed to linen to silk. I do not wear synthetics. Most people will not even realize that your black pants are jeans. And with a blazer over them, they are further hidden, so to speak. I only wear white pants when I am rock bottom slim because I just do not think I want my bottom visually enlarged. I have to be very careful with my shoes, but I would never, ever wear lug boots to anything anywhere. I am astounded how many people seem to be comfortable in them. Supportive footwear does not have to be clunky. I trip more easily in that sort of footwear than I would in a more traditional shoe or boot. I have bad ankles and one is actually transplanted. Earth shoes work for me nowadays. The special footbed guides how my foot tracks from heel to toe. It is really important to foster a natural heel to toe stride. I just don't understand how one can do that in big sole boots. Very unhealthy in the long run. I hope Hanna reads this, especially the compliment below.🤩 However, Hanna's new haircut is da bomb.
Love this video as I do all of your content Hannah. Thank you! Also I believe JoS A. Bank used to be Joseph A. Bank, a high-end men’s store, and I remember getting sweaters from there years ago when I was in college in Philadelphia - love their clothing and haven’t heard about them in a long time!
My ‘magic’ pants are the Yu tailored pant in wool from Caves Collect, they are 11/10 stunning in every way. I also have a tailored pair in tencel, I assume similar to the Osma field pant, from Auguste the Label and they are also amazing.
I got th doc marten Chelsea lug boots and currently my most worn boots. Didn’t work too well w snow bc the fabric stretchy part started to get wet 😅😅😅. Linen tops are so hard to find in plus sizes, I’m hoping the largest size is ozma fits me! And I prefer black tanks to white 😊 I also looove hoop earrings!!! Been wearing them for years :) def saving this video bc so many of these items are like my must have uniform pieces 😊
I will never be able to maintain a crisp white tank but I think what would fulfill that need is the perfect vintage white oversized tee. Something worn-in and unprecious, soft but not thin
The most versatile things I've ever owned are sundresses, sweaters, a knee length pleated skirt, and Thursday Captain boots. And most of those things go together, too.
I always appreciate these kinds of videos from you, particularly when you make a bunch of recommendations with links for different versions of each thing. It’s super helpful.
I love the pants you mentioned and have put them on a wish list. I wonder how they would work for someone 5’4? I also put the Eileen Fisher on my wish list too, because I’ve been wanting a white linen top for a while. Lastly I hang my white things in the sun. It works wonders.
2 minutes to video and i have to adress - That hallway door closets, UGH!!! LOVE to see your new house situation! I'll be back for more thoughts :) Now i'll go to search in my wadrobe for pants to behave like the osma ones
I dislike this high waisted trend. It reminds me of high school in 1983-‘86 I’m a long legged short torso gal. I can’t find any trousers like you suggested with a mid-rise. I hope this trend vanishes asap.
I think it is important to not wash clothes in the washing machine, the dryer I reserve for towels and sheets. Yes, it’s a commitment, but most clothes, even the not so good in quality will last so much longer and in good shape. On the white garments, another good tip is to have them dry in the sun! Once a white garment is no longer bright white, the white is GONE, no whitening agent will restore it, and will have to be replaced. To me nothing looks worse and sloppy than using a garment that used to be white and no longer is. Sad, but true. So white garments (black too) need extra care if you want to look polished.
As a petite, lug sole boots are a definite no for me. I have a classic, low heeled black boot that I have had for 20 years. For longevity, I avoid anything too trendy. Great video! ❤
You know, I'll listen to you talk about anything, but none of these items look good on me. Truely, not because I haven't tried. So the title is kind of annoying because of that... it's makes me feel a bit... don't-tell-me-whats-true. I'd rather you tell me whats true for you (i'm interested!).

I've been binging your fashion videos while I build a new work wardrobe. Thank you for the great videos
I agree with the drape of linen > cotton poplin.
i remember when lug soles boots were starting to really have a moment and it was just a new trend that i couldn’t find any great quality ones on the second hand market yet and the fact that is has kept going makes me so happy because now they’re everywhere
Oversized-ish linen is gorgeous, so gorgeous -- on other people. I wish my body shape suited that silhouette but alas! It does not. I just look like I'm wearing a potato sack. 😅 I shall live vicariously through Hannah and you who can pull that off.
I’m studying for the LSAT currently and your videos always give me a wonderful, much-needed reprieve! I love your content! ❤
yay, good luck on the LSAT!
@@HannahLouisePoston thank you so much, Hannah!!! ❤️❤️
Abercrombie has a lot of great white tank options! Had my white tank for a year and it’s still sturdy
Hubby, baby, cat and new home glimpse. ❤️ I can’t pull off chunky boots, but my Chelsea boots that are pointed-toed and sleek are keepers.
Men's cargo pants for me have served as that wide leg versatile bottom. I have denim and summer weight cotton. I love the loose leg. They make it easy to look cool.
OMG I just got the same kind of pant in white - Rag and Bone - incredibly soft and beautifully structured! Love how they fit...
I love a bright weight tank top but I need to invest in lobster bibs or something to desperately try and avoid coffee stains within four minutes of getting dressed.
honestly I have a tide pen and I can't BELIEVE how well it works
If you have a full load of plain white just add 150ml of bleach at 4%. Whites will be so white!!
I'm late to this video, but whenever it seems your hair cannot get better, you prove me wrong! Hope you are loving your new cut.
How are these insanely informative and entertaining videos free!? Love you HLP you are so appreciated
Love love the hair!! You are looking gorgeous and very happy!
On versatile perspective, I think linen shirt and midsize hoop earrings are ideal rather than Chelsea boots. Anyway, a great video.I love it, Hannah!
Just bought a green pure linen shirt and I wear it all the time such a beautiful easy fabric
Aaaack! LOVING the baby + Joe photo(video?) bomb! Awwww! Oh and SADIE!! 🥰
I hope Hanna reads this, especially the compliment below.🤩
However, Hanna's new haircut is da bomb.
The haircut looks AMAZING!
I looove your haircut! That is such a cute length.
I'd be interested in you doing the season analysis, the kibbe test or something like that because I think watching you explain it would be helpful.
Yes! Curious about her Kibbe. What she wears would mostly not work on me.
@breannacarels6479 I feel like she might be a flamboyant natural?
Agree with all these pieces! Currently searching for ✨the tank top✨
I will watch this video later (life is crazy right now) but HLP I NEED you to review phytosurgence’s new calm conditions lip balm.
I will never be able to maintain a crisp white tank but I think what would fulfill that need is the perfect vintage white oversized tee. Something worn-in and unprecious, soft but not thin
The belt pulls it together perfectly, and belts are my nemesis. Any suggestions?
the two I have are from Ozma and Maxiumum Henry
@@HannahLouisePoston thank you so much for responding! ❤❤❤
Madewell has a linen (ramie) button up that im loving. Its so lightweight which is key for me in texas.
Too late Hannah! All my white shirts are now light pink!
I love the pants you mentioned and have put them on a wish list. I wonder how they would work for someone 5’4? I also put the Eileen Fisher on my wish list too, because I’ve been wanting a white linen top for a while. Lastly I hang my white things in the sun. It works wonders.
Most people look a million times better with big enough jewelry ! The micro jewelry trend works only for a tiny minority of people
Thursday boot Co has the most BEAUTIFUL black Chelsea lug boots!!!!
Hannah you would love Mamene. My favorite forever pieces I wore before, during, and after pregnancy
Here to sing the praises of the l l bean white cotton tank top, especially the petite sizing for those of us who are vertically limited
Yesssss I got those pants from Uniqlo. Love love love them.
i was jUsT wondering if Uniqlo had these - thanks! 🎉
The white tank section makes me realize we need a video on how to take care of our nice, intentionally collected beautiful things.
Love your haircut🥰
2 minutes to video and i have to adress - That hallway door closets, UGH!!! LOVE to see your new house situation!
I'll be back for more thoughts :)
Now i'll go to search in my wadrobe for pants to behave like the osma ones
I dislike this high waisted trend. It reminds me of high school in 1983-‘86 I’m a long legged short torso gal. I can’t find any trousers like you suggested with a mid-rise. I hope this trend vanishes asap.
I love the diversity of the models you show. Thank you.
Loved this ❤
You know, I'll listen to you talk about anything, but none of these items look good on me. Truely, not because I haven't tried. So the title is kind of annoying because of that... it's makes me feel a bit... don't-tell-me-whats-true. I'd rather you tell me whats true for you (i'm interested!).
Nawwwww bubby and hubby in the background ❤❤❤❤❤
Ohhh I've been looking for some pants like the fieldpants
I'm far too anxious to habitually wear white clothes 😅 but I have an old linen white shirt I wore to death... need another in maybe not white😉
love your new hair!
