Yu-Gi-Oh is still cheaper to play than Magic and just above Pokemon but we still reign supreme with the most sold card in history. It was sold alongside a secondary card which was asked to be sold along with the already purchased single card which is why Logan Paul was able to buy the Illustrator Card and get the world record by a technicality.

No the only problem with the Ebay auction was the fact that they automatically declined bids going too high, we know for a fact that there were offers in the millions and while some might have been fake the other 2 entries kinda prove not all of them were (probably).

I would like to caveat MTG for a second: i feel that the card called Proposal should have a special mention, at the very least. It was made in 1993 for Richard Garfield as a way to propose to his wife. If menory serves, the video i watched that mentioned it said it was considered "priceless" by the person who inherited it.

Any of the top 4 prize steel cuts from that invitational, which only have 2-4 copies in existence, being Zera the mant, Super War Lion, and Fiend's mirror as normal monster steel cuts would easily equal out or decimate the One Ring or nearmint power 9 in value.
As mentioned in some previous comments, this video is about the most expensive cards ever sold, not the estimated or appraised value of cards that exist, nor rejected offers for cards. So while it is true that Black Luster Soldier would likely be valued much higher if its owner were to sell it, that hasn't happened as of yet.

Basically we moved house 100 miles away (20 years ago) my cards were left in the loft. I now live 1 mile away from my original house. I still to this day am dying to Chap the door and say "can I check your loft?" 😂 tough times
