Imagine you want to print a suspension bracket like the one in the video. The original part was produced with stainless steel, mainly using CNC machining. With only this information, customers can use 3YOURMIND to receive AM material recommendations that match conventional materials.
How does it work?
The 3YOURMIND software extracts the major material properties from its database of conventional materials and automatically compares them with the equivalent AM options. The software displays the matching AM technologies, materials, and vendors.
In addition, the software makes assessments that consider different AM processes, which can influence material strength (e.g., laser powder bed fusion vs. binder jetting). The user can still compare options (already available in 3YOURMIND’s 24.6 release: hubs.ly/Q02GKgfL0) and select the best material based on the part’s purpose.
