My own noob thoughts on Geralt: -Don't mash attack buttons, the third hit of A.A.A and B.B.B are not natural and punishable. -Don't throw out a raw Yrden glyph, you'll probably miss and eat damage. It's really good for interrupting attack strings however, the timing is much easier than GI and rewards are greater. -Rolling charge is great for hitting downed opponent at distance -Deadly retribution is a great move, big damage -Glyphs do massive chip damage, soul charge + spammed glyphs are great against turtles -Quen glyph is good for charging through long range single attacks from characters like Nightmare or Azaroth -66A can be mixed up with B or K (low attack)
I first came across Geralt via getting my hands on a couple of the books in a highschool library here in the Philippines. After that was the Witcher 2 game on on the PC that my best friend and Idecided to play for his Twitch stream. I am currently half way through "The Last Wish" and am playing the Witcher 3 now and am thoroughly enjoying both. Warmest greetings from the Pearl of the Orient! I hope to visit your side of the globe someday. Your history and culture is very fascinating to me 😁
As a note, 1 A, B doesn't lethal hit on counter. It lethal hits, every time, if your opponent has two full bars of meter (as your training dummy did). Note: your opponent was never trying to counter hit, he was just standing there, and you still got the lethal. Pretty good lethal hit for when your opponent just sits on meter, but usually they'll use it so it's not gonna lethal very often.
After 3-4 hours in character creation I finally went to training and learned some stuff. He is definitely fun though. Look forward to seeing your matches.
I know this is like 4 years ago of a video, but I just can't ever forget the only reason I played sc6 was for Geralt. Every day off school I'd get on my mom's ps4 and just play ranked with him, without knowing the basics of the game. I was against people much higher than me, but Geralt's noob friendly jack of all trades and master of none design made most games winnable. So fun.
hey jm, like your videos man. you might want to consider putting in a pic of the directional numbers on the bottom right, or maybe center top so when you are throwing out numbers, us noobs can understand what your talking about. its alot easier for people like me who don't look at the game the way that you do.
Loved all your character guides, esp your commentary on strategies and tactics on each player. It's made learning how to play each character much easier! I know you covered this in your general guides, but could you make a more in-depth video on Guards, counters, GI and ukemi strategies?
I've been practicing a lot. I can't get some her move you're good at breaking combo down in a way I can understand. This video help me learn how to beat garalt in custom story mode.
I've been working on learning Ivy! So if you feel like making an Ivy tips video, I'd love to see what you come up with! (also, thanks for the video, very informative!)
Nice guide. Any thoughts on the various B+K moves? The forward roll seems like a nice option to close range in certain situations. Not sure what to make of the side-stepping pirouettes, though.
If only red dead wasnt out on Friday. ah well i might pick this up in a few months time when everyone has either left the game or the only people left are too good for me to win any matches...
Look at the number keys on the far right of a computer's keyboard. Now imagine the numbers are the directional pad on your controller where 5 is the center. That's the key. So 1 is diagonal down-left, 2 is straight down. 3 is diagonal down-right, 6 is straight right, etc.
Numpad notation:
↖️⬆️↗️ 7 8 9
⬅️🚹➡️ 4 5 6
↙️⬇️↘️ 1 2 3

Chalmers thanks! I didn’t know A,A,A and B,B,B were punishable. Also didn’t know 66A could be mixed up I’m gonna fuck people up now!
As a Slav, I remember, when Geralt was just a character from books. Never played any the Witcher game, but read books about him.

Look at the post below this one.
Cool. Seung Mina has always been my bei in Soul Blade and Soul Calibur. I love spinning that blade in people's face.

Thank you man. Bought the game early but stayed off because of DESTINY 2's expansion. Now most active ppl are a tier above me, need to catch up!
amazing guide, I can't wait to get home later and practice him more
Love your fight vids, db or sc. Please Cervantes tutorial next.
Very much enjoyed this tutorial. How about my main man Mitsurugi next.

Hey crofts, I'd really like a Maxi and/or Sophitia guide. Thanks
Fun fact I learned about 1 AA
The hit box of the glyph will reach behind you and hit the enemy if they’re close enough
I was practicing Geralt the other day but couldn't really figure out which are the best tools to approach people with. Thanks for this!
really glad that im not the only one not blocking mittsus low attacks lol
10:16 that move is known as the warriors twirl in the wicher lll wild hunt. It could shred stagerable foes with ease.
And then the sword got added severance
Then it goes way long

'Last I checked, everything is where it should be'
*JUST THE TIP*
great vid best Gerald guide I've seen! I have a question how come he has different swords in the online fight at the end?
Awesome guide! Mitsrurugi WHERE?
Cheers for the guide, mate

I've noticed they're very wide side steps. Let's you get around some verticals easier
Great for punishing reversal edge and vertical break attacks with a throw
Please do Cervantes after mina because he's really complex and while I don't main him I would like to play him more often
geralt is hella fun :)
Glad to see some more SoulCal gameplay on this channel.
Is this video supposed to be in low quality?
takes a couple minutes to process
Geralt is the kind of guy we can all relate to as we can all power up when we get intoxicated. :P
slightlytwistedagain
That explain why father's beatings would sometimes hurt more than usual.

Please do a guide on all of the characters!
50th like love you content my dude
Taki can punish Geralt's 1A,A.
Please make a Ivy tutourial.
Just started with this game(Steam sale) and is it really the game design that the game has a slight input lag?
From the menu where can i select to play as geralt? in the character menu they just give me a random to custom....
Hmm, so Geralt is more of a punisher than an attacker.
Seems legit. Gotta try it.
If only red dead wasnt out on Friday. ah well i might pick this up in a few months time when everyone has either left the game or the only people left are too good for me to win any matches...
I've play SC for many years and I think the moment notations at dumb like why don't people just use F,df,ub and ect.
I do spam Quen sign all day just like Witcher would do
can you make one for Mina
she's next ;)
How do you figure out what's safe or unsafe on block, given there's no frame data available for this game?
Have the dummy do it to you and try to punish it
Simple easy to use chatacter
someone explain the numbers for us noobs please!

🙋🏽♂️👍🏽📽

Not much of a guide. Some are wrong. Well it’s outdated anyway
Other fighting games look so boring after FighterZ lol
