I would really like to see a bulb comparison of the 2nd generation dodge ram trucks.... And an up grade so all four lights are lite when on high beams... This area is lacking with most bulbs I've tried. Usually there is little noticeable difference... I'm looking for the wow factor in the high beam department! Something similar to airplane landing lights!
@@HeadlightRevolution but you plug in a harness with resistors? I think I'm missing that passenger side harness but I do have some leftover resistors, can I wire them in line with the factory wiring or does it have to loop back to act as a closed circuit?
Yes, My apologies. I should have been more clear, The resistor harness plugs in but that’s it on the passenger side. It does not reconnect to the headlight.
I need to know what voltage capacitor I need to use on my kit and if I need to use a capacitor on both ends of the harness for each headlight? Can you answer this please
After reading the comments, I'm really confused why he installs the capacitor on both sides if every comment says you only need to install it on one side?? I tried calling and sending emails to the company but it's been a week and I havent gotten a reply anywhere yet.
It generally does but not all the time. We've seen 25w LED bulbs shine brighter than 50w LED bulbs. It all depends on the quality build of the unit, and the efficiency. If your bulbs need 50w to put out as much light as a 30w bulb, it's not a good design, and not very efficient. You want to be looking at actual measured Lux readings, as well as beam pattern, lumen and wattage.
so for us with DRL this kit still will shut off both headlights when you would signal left and keep then on when you signal right. how would you beat that? seperate harness for each light?
Headlight Revolution I own a 2011 ram 1500 used h13 for the bulbs. I run a h13-2 hid bulb with a halogen high beam. that way I don't have to fight with the DRL. system.
Cory Davidson That is definitely one way to do it. We used to sell those HID bulbs but people were so disappointed in the high beam (mini halogen bulb) that we just stopped.
Headlight Revolution if you give me a email address I can show you how the DRL work on my truck and you'll be able to see my problem with DRL with a bixenon kit
Do I only need to have 1 side with the resistors? The wiring harness I have only requires 1 side to be plugged into the factory harness. I tried to install my bids today and when I turned on they started to strobe so I think I need resistors. I have a canbus ballast also. So my question is do I only need to plug in 1 side with the ressistors to fix this problem? There is nowhere to plug ressistors into the passenger side.
I believe this truck pulses the voltage to a standard Halogen bulb. A capacitor should act as a buffer for the "pulsing" of the voltage and provide a more consistent voltage output to prevent flickering or keep products from not operating properly.
I have had a kit for about 8 years and never installed it when I watched your video you seem to have more connections than mine as there is nothing to connect to battery I'm really unsure about this also I'm in uk so getting hold of the right stuff is difficult can you advise thanks
The extra wire to the battery comes from the dual beam relay harness that we used. We also added an extra harness with resistors. These steps were needed to make the install work since the wiring system on the Dodge Ram is so tricky. Here are the links to those products we used. It is hard to tell though if the kit you bought will be compatible with these new harnesses. It sadly may not be. The Ram Trucks make for a hard HID install. So after watching the video on the comparison on different led headlight bulbs I decided to click on this video. To say the least I am very disappointed. In the led video you were saying how important it was to mimic the light and position of the filament and also how important it was to select the right bulb for your housing (reflector, halogen projector, hid projector, ect.). Well you just installed an hid kit in a halogen reflector housing and now that truck is probably blinding everyone on the road and has probably already caused an accident. You need to educate your customers that you can not simply add hid's to a reflector based housing. At the very least you can use a halogen projector but only if the cutoff line is low enough not to blind incoming traffic.
And you failed to seal the wiring you stripped back for the cap installation. Anywhere in the rust belt of the US that will be green crusty and failing apart in 1 to 2 driving seasons. This is shit all the way around.
Any installation how to video should include before and after shots!
Never saw the light pattern. Im interested in buying but i cant find videos with light patterns.

We will try to get one in for some testing!
So you're looking to blind the shit out of other drivers. How kind of you.
Thought you guys said don’t use reflector assembly for HID ASO what’s the deal here??
This video is from 2016, so its much older. We have made updates to our guides now.
How do the Gtr ultra series HID compare to the GTRultra 2 L.E.D in this model?
Wasn't there a saying some place, never install HID into factory halogen headlight assemblies?
If a capasitor is needed, why does it not come with the kit you sell on your website?...
It does!
Seems like led is a better conversion in every way.
I'm a bit confused here, does the replay harness only plug into the drivers side factory 9007 plug??
That is correct, The passenger side remains unplugged.

The capacitor is 2200 but does it matter what the voltage is or does it have to be 12 or could it be 10 or 16?
What is the voltag of the capacitor
In the world of aftermarket Led headlights dors wattage effect brightest? Does Higher wattage= brighter headlights?

We'd have to get a little more info on your vehicle.
We haven't ran into any problems like that on a RAM install like this.

Headlight Revolution the high beam is terrible I can admit to that. But with the DRL of the dodge it makes install easier. Don't have to run a harness

why was a second 2200mfd capacitor not required for the passenger side?
The headlight hi/low signal is only taken from one side of the harness, thus you do not need a second cap

i always use the brush on liquid wire insulation or heat shrink tubing. a dielectric grease under ground wires isn't a bad idea either
