Ownership:
This website is the brainchild of Professor Ranjith Karthekeyan.
Professor Ranjith Karthekeyan is a dynamic and established Cardiac Anaesthesiologist and a valuable member of the Indian Association of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia (IACTA). He is an excellent post-graduate teacher and examiner for MD Anesthesia, Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, and Doctorate in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia (D.M). He has various publications to his credit and is also a peer reviewer of various journals. His invited guest lecture on ‘MINISTERNOTOMY IN CONGENITAL DISEASE-CURRENT STATUS’ at the second International Congress of Cardiology in Dec 2010 in Shanghai won several accolades. This website is created from his vast experiences and teachings in the field of Cardiac Anesthesiology. He has put in extraordinary efforts to make this website simple, and knowledgeable, and help the learner to learn from the contents at a brisk speed. His focused and phenomenally potent presentations will be resourceful to the learner and could make the Anesthesia provider more confident, emboldened, and empowered to face the various clinical scenarios they might be in.
Many areas in Cardiac Anesthesia that have thus far been either unlooked into or unheralded and where there are very few or no guidelines or data available to guide clinical management are some of the major areas dealt with on the site. These could be a boon to those who need quick guidance for even quicker learning.
1:21 I'm no expert and I only studied in a low-scale Medical Assisting class, but I was taught never to use a needle so that it can easily puncture you. Of course it involved AFTER the needle was used and you had to put the cap back on before discarding it. Regarding certain phlebotomy needles, you had to leave the cap lying on the desk and with one hand just move the needle into the cap and then after the needle head is in the cap you can carefully use the other hand to better secure the cap before discarding the entire needle.
It seems odd to me that these two workers are doing things so that one worker is maneuvering the needle into some receptacle that another worker is holding even though the needle has not yet been used. If the worker holding the needle has shaky hands then she could jab the other worker on the hand. Furthermore the worker holding the receptacle is not wearing any gloves.
But what do I know?
O
You know nothing! This is how it is done. Also the person holding receptacle and the glass of receptacle are not sterile, so they hold it for the doctor with sterile gloves on who just sucks the drug....
Mam good job
