I have this antenna and works great for my Go Bag. I wish I had the extra whips included as one of them snapped already. I ordered two from Aliexpress and fortunately only took a week to arrive in Canada.
I ran an MP-1 superantenna for years as my main antenna and it was glorious for digi work. It magically disappeared during a move so I'm thinking the PAC-12 will be a great (more cost effective) replacement. As with any of these portable verts 9/10ths of the issues folks have boil down to the radials. May go to for making radials is to buy some bulk ribbon cable, cut it to length then solder all on one end to a terminal connector and split them after. Makes quick work of making a ton of radials for specific bands but frankly when ground mounted length has arguable effects.
I follow military manual - radials only for dry soil that is not conductive. From my observations for normal wet ground I have not observed improvement that justify carrying them , deploying, thinking about wavelegth length ( ua-cam.com/video/KRCTu3yyakc/v-deo.html ). Unless You are doing some contest then of course Yes - tiny improvement will have deciding factor. If you have trouble with reception - I would just hike higher ground - it will work better but that's just my opinion.
I just bought this and I have similar video in production :D this is really nice antena :D I'm going to compare this anteną to dipoles on 20/40/80m bands :)
You could use those 2 extra telescopic whips to make a diy shortened dipole for 20m using a couple of diy inductors, it would make a great video too, thanks for your video, my PAC-12 is on the way , dipole version is JPC-7
Steve you posted this 5 months ago on the pac 12. I'm curious if yours held us as you thought it would and are you satisfied with the performance? Im thinking about ordering one and wonder where you bought yours?
@@cwh1947 it has been a great investment , i use it everywhere , even at home at the side garden, got mine on AliExpress. I dont think you would be disappointed
@@cwh1947 there is also a 5.2m telescopic element and extra poles and coils available if you want to extend to 160/80m also but I have not tried as I am happy on 40/20 for most all dx and local UK , also there is a ground base disk available that I recommend
Do you fancy sharing what setup you use a quick reference. ie spike 4 poles and whip fully extended is **m spike 4 poles and whip closed is **m. And same again for the tuning coil ??
Do you have a rough chart of whip length, coil position for the 9 bands ? I have found the reference chart for the Buddistick Pro, they're the same except for coil structure, mast length and radial technology. (SO, not the same at all) The chinese pamphlet has a couple settings, but nowhere near the at least 9 bands this should cover.
Hello, sorry but I don't have - I tuned it once on upper HF for single channel + attach military whip as replacement for telescopic (i have video about it) and use it that way with Codan NGT (no free tune, i have programmed TX only access to allocated channel). I have long to-do list and on it i have "buy HF antenna analyzer"
JPC-12,found on Aliexpress.Look around on their website,as you’ll find various prices.I bought mine for $118.I later bought two 5.65 meter whips,to allow me to work down into the CW portion of 40 meters.
I enjoyed this video to the point where I bought this antenna for 20 and 40 meters. Thank you for sharing with us. I have subscribed with thumb up.
I'm glad You liked it, thanks for feedback

I was afraid of that, check out my other video when I hooked up military whip onto it ;-)

Thumbs up my friend, excellent video and explanation of the antenna....Thanks!!
Very welcome

Bonjour,
Pour la bande des 11 mètres , comment la montez vous , faut il enlever la self ?
Merci .
Could you pass me the measurement of the thread that joins the parts of the antenna?

Very handy antenna.
I'm working on small improvement to get rid of this telescopic whip and make it more tactical :> Thread looks like M10 mmm

Where did you get the antenna from I see it’s on aliexpress wide variations in price link to your one you got would be great

@@ElectronicNoobBlog Thanks. No analyser either, so I did math a possible range of settings, but I'm very open to suggestion. ;) -73

Whish model is this and where can you buy it as is in the videos

What size are the threads for the poles and the telescopic whip?
It's M10 on whip (same as military, check my other video)
Maybe 60M?
Any 80M versions?
They sell Extra Coil , main sections and 5.2M telescopic whip on AliExpress so you can make it
