This is just an awful, awful comment.
My family fled war and my mother tongue is very important to me. Growing up in the UK, I didn't have much opportunity to practise Tamil being away from my motherland. I speak with a 1970s Jaffna Tamil accent because that's the dialect that the Tamil diaspora in London speak in.
Having to navigate a dual identity in a different country to that of my identity, I'm proud of the Tamil that I speak.
