Any kpop reactor I come across my initial thought is how in the world did they get into it...now I know, maybe. Did you go to korea because kpop led you to an interest in the country or did you go to korea and then find kpop?
I know you went thru some things, based on the commentary for hylt and i hope you're better. This is such a surreal situation so I'm right there with ya.
I got into kpop over a year ago and it was life changing (well maybe not that dramatic). Prior to that I dismissed any notion of music existing outside of the american music scene. Well kpop smacked that out of my head quick...it was so similar yet so different. I'm currently enjoying music as never before but being a multistan can be overwhelming.😂
This vid gave you new cred points with me and I loved it. It's my hope that I can visit korea after this is all done with. I've got relatives there that I've never met before but I want to visit for the food and the kpop. Stay safe and hope you continue posting.🙏🌝
Hi! My story with K-pop goes something like this; in 2010 I randomly came across Girls' Generation's ''Gee'' here on UA-cam, and I was instantly very impressed and mesmerized. I had never heard about the South Korean music scene prior to this, and I knew basically nothing about Korea in general. I fell in love with the language, and I started making Korean song covers and mv reactions. I also watched a lot of Korean variety shows and dramas etc., and my interest in the country grew larger and larger, in terms of all things related to the culture, history, food, the language, you name it. I knew I wanted to visit Korea one day, and in 2015 I had worked and saved up money so that I could go there for 3 weeks during the summer. Having finally tasted all the delicious foods, fallen in love with the café culture, fashion, music, and the mix of traditional + modern, I knew that I wanted to go back some day. I assumed it would take several years (after all, it's expensive to travel from Norway to Korea, and if one is staying in Seoul it does cost quite a lot of money for housing), but in 2017 I was suddenly invited by KOFICE to come to Korea for 1 week representing Norway in a UA-camr project they did (I vlogged everything, the link is in the description), and it was an experience of a lifetime. My interest in Korea grew even more, and I knew that I wanted to study the language properly at one point, and luckily my uni in Norway had an exchange student deal with Seoul National University, so the last year of my bachelors I was able to study in Seoul (2018-2019, that's where this vlog is from). So, K-pop was my gateway into Korean culture, and I am extremely grateful for it. It has shaped my life in ways I could never imagine. I hope that answers your question!
