Hi mate , are those 3.2 ford diesels generally reliable? I’m looking at buying a ranger/BT and I’m seeing a lot have had engine swaps at 200 k . I would hate to spend 20 k on a Ute then be doing a motor. I seen your vids on cleaning the manifold and injector’s. Any help would be appreciated . Thank you
There are a lot of horror stories but regular maintenance is a must. In my option the 15K service interval is too high and should only be 10K, so if you spot one that has extra servicing that would be an advantage. I have seen lots with 300K plus kms. EGR faults are common as they age. I personally would avoid anything that has been modded or chipped as 'often' they can be done poorly. There are so many of these 3.2's that just keep going and going and 1000's of happy customers.
