My prediction is that with OoT, because it has way less ancillary material associated with it than MM, that the AI would do decently and give you 80% correct directions if accept more general answers rather than literal geometrically accurate directions. Also ChatGPT (like always) will perform best. It's the best LLM on the market by a considerable margin.
Because of the way chatgpt and gemini work, they will never give you real directions. You might be able to create a custom GPT in chatgpt that is more tailored to your needs. Perhaps you could also run a local version and train it on strategy guides. I can feel your frustration though. As someone who uses chatgpt literally every day for coding, my stress levels go off the chart when it starts saying things like "you're absolutely right, there seems to be a flaw in my instructions."
Well, if AI's this bad with Majora's Mask, imagine how bad it'd be with Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom-games with extensive tutorial areas! It'd never get out of the Great Plateau or Great Sky Island! XD

I think the ai is confusing "north and south" with "in front and behind you" since whenever it says north, that's where the tunnel is when you spawn, while the fairy fountain is behind you, so if you always spawn in facing north, it would be south of you, the ai ignorant that you spawn facing south already. It then confuses itself because it's already talking about "going south to the fairy fountain in clocktown" but there is already a place called South Clocktown
I want Rockstar to get all the cannon Zelda games (even gameboy) and make a huge map with all of the worlds but make them one world. No warp screens. That would be simply amazing!!!!!

This video makes me realize that the copyright laws are preventing the online chat AI from accessing the raw content of the Guides/walkthroughs produced when the game was originally released. If you want a more correct ChatGPT response basis (I can't speak for Gemini never used it) you would need to provide it a reputable source to scrape and reference for its knowledge base. Even then, it would probably get confused from the way Majora's Mask is designed.

All ai is, is trial and error. If you run this long enough, ai would be able to beat it. It's scary how good ai gets at games tbh. Look at RuneScape. They have pvp bots that are able to item flick incredibly fast and fighting one as a human is almost an immediate death sentence.
