  • The body lift we used for my 1996 3rd Generation Toyota 4Runner build was not up for the task, I did not trust the polyurethane spacer in my steering so it had to change! Luckily my friend Ethan from ‪@GrindHardPlumbingCo‬ was up for the task of helping me out come up with a solution!

Loving the fab rats connection, lol... personally, I would've extended and sleeved the shaft, but that'll work. In the VW buggy world we have what is known as the donut of death, where the original rag joint gets replaced with a poly version... its called the donut of death for a reason sadly☹. Regarding your sills (rockers as you call em over there, lol), how about 4x2 box section and build some built in sliders😉

Is cutting and extending the sector shaft not an option?

Yeah. But that sounds even more sketchy

Not that sketch if you have a spare steering shaft so you can cut both to length/ slide a piece of pipe over the shaft that is short enough to slide up the shaft/ bevel and weld the shaft, grind her smooth and slide that pipe over your weld as a sleeve and weld both ends of the pipe, deffinetly not gonna break! Love the runner progress and videos, i built a 2jz auto 3rd gen for my wife, currently bone stock in the suspension dept. But we should get them together to play when its done! Im in bremerton pretty sure your not too far
