"Paris wasn't exotic that day-it was not Montmartre on a spring Sunday. It was the opposite of Daïquiris. The guys wore student sweaters, Ezra had his scarf on, and they were responsible for the sun: their mission was to put some color in the Northern area of Paris. What a burden."

15 years later. My life is so different. In amazing ways, and difficult ways.
But this? This still is amazing. Thanks for keeping it going.
the acoustics of this courtyard are nothing less than legendary.
ok but real respect to the camera man who did this in one take AND climbed over that fence without dropping the camera/messing up the shot!
meeroar probably two people, yo
Yep you can see cameraman #2 appear briefly on the right. Love this band, song, video, and channel.
OH UA-cam. I lost track of this video the last 10 years. How legendary!!
what a cute time it was for me to have discovered VW when i was 10yrs old back in 2008. i would ride my bike blasting this song on my first ipod touch. along with Soulja Boy haha!
haha, Tomson off in the distance, beating on trash cans..EPIC
Imagine opening your window and hearing that
i graduated high school with Ezra in Glen Ridge NJ, hes a chill dude
Wow :O
You must have knew wes miles as well then
i wish they would do an acoustic album
I know im like 5 years to late but fotb is pretty acoustic so your wish was technicaly granted
It's amazing what the people walking by are missing when they are in too much of a rush to stop and listen to the music.
Two new singles they dropped today brought me here. Love to suddenly find appreciation for a band that's been around for a hot minute. Gives me a whole discography to slowly comb through.
The kids still don't stand a chance, but you ain't that young, kid.
i love how CT is just playing on the trash cans. still sounds good man
oh my gosh I love how Ezra sings "Oxford Comma" at the end of the vid xD @3:54
Katherine Yábar that part was cool
just imagine your waking up in your room and vampire weekend is right outside your window, jamming away.
Lol
I was writing a paper at the NYU library in 2019, and this I exactly what happened when they did a pop-up show in Washington Square Park

I would die if I stumbled upon Vampire Weekend like this. So genuine and raw just doing what they love.
Lisa De it's strange with no camera
At first I hated the ads at the start of blogotheque videos, now they just help me appreciate how special your work is. How pure the music, how pure the art, how pure my joy is watching + listening. Thank you for making the past 3 years of my life all the more beautiful because of the take away shows, it means a lot.
Such an underrated vid…and no one shouted at them to shut up lol…long live VW !!!
They are amazing live. I saw them last year here in Brazil

the song is fantastic! the location is perfect, creates amazing acoustics! and i love the cinematography that went into this. awesome camera work.
These take away shows by the blogotheque are just magical, even more after all these years ❤️
15 years later and the kid still don't stand a chance!
This is one of the coolest live public music videos found on the whole of UA-cam! Salute Vampire Weekend! :)
I've learned soooo much about true cinematography from this camera man.

Rostam killing it on the melodica

Oxford Comma, one of their best.

it's like a hipster time machine
no sir...i bet i wont go away from youtube till i watch all of them ;)
anybody else notice the sign at the beginning "jour et Nuit" had little lights where the holes were, any way the holes were bouncing to the beet.. super cool for the 10 seconds that it was there! 0:50 to 1:00
ezra's falsetto cleansed my pores
How fucking cool is this!?
Also im glad im not the only person who plays a melodica

Monsieur! Monsieur! Non, non non...C'est trop fort. Just kidding :) Oui oui oui!
Damn wish I lived in Paris! I would follow them down the street and start singing with Ezra. :)
@AutumnLaws94 hahaha thats awesome
This is awesomeness
It was released on January 29, 2008. Percent
This is crazy.
this is genius. oh ezra.
@wowjack1 I've noticed that in France before, French cars are probably a lot cheaper in France, I bet that's it.
IndieRockrocks, there is another possibilty. They just dislike Vampire Weekend.
*gasp* the subjectivity of taste! *gasp*
He steals her bike!
Oh, no! He's stealing her!
*Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Benjamin follow the van*
@hillendskier im down for that!
@zacandmusic yea but in england not every car you see is english or in germany not every car you see is german
cool story bruh
@DogsAreMe12 a "Take Away Show" is like a mini concert, like instead of going to a gig, you have this :D Un Concert A Emporter, you see?
This is what I sing to the class of 2020
@AutumnLaws94 Good lad.
How many of us paid to see bands that have utterly disappointed us live? That was not the case with Vampire Weekend. I thought their live performance absolutely amazing.
Vincent, did you hop the fence?
@wowjack1 because it was filmed in france?
what is the second song they sing?
is this a waltz?
Who the fuck dislikes amazing shit like this? I will find you
no i totally know what you mean. check out born ruffians, theyre compared with vampire weekend a lot. personally i dont see it but either way theyre an amazing band, a lot more down to earth than vampire weekend, more simple in a lot of ways
Where was this shot?
did anyone notice that the traffic light had yellow at the top?
typical me, I'm given a great live video of Vampire Weekend and I'm more interested in the setting than the performance.
To be fair, the traffic in Paris is absolutely terrifying
