I love this song because the lyrics plus her movements reflect the agony inside of you when you have your heart broken into a thousand pieces. Been there, felt the urge to just move, beat myself against the walls, and rip my hair off, but nothing brings you comfort. That's how I see at least. I remember loving Gaga but always wishing for a more acoustic-ish album and when Joanne came out I nearly fainted. This right here is one of her strongest songs imo, turning pain into energy. Being someone who once loved a person with a narcicisstic PD (diagnosed, I just didn't know what that meant 13 years ago), the lyrics always felt close to home and the tears I've shed a hundred times to this jam are always in this feeling of "letting hurt go". U can't just generalize a whole genre as generic just bc u don't like it (I'm assuming, people usually have a perceived negative reaction to something/feel strongly about something bc they don't like it). If you're argument is that it sounds just like all other pop songs, u can say that about any other genre (all rock songs sound the same they all have guitars and drums, all edm songs are the same they all have a buildup and the beat drops, etc) so there is no difference. If u point out that there is a difference and u can clearly state it between two songs in the same genre, then u just answered urself on why this song is not generic if u can logically connect the dots.

Using dislikes on a music video on UA-cam isn't really an accurate indicator of whether people are "over her". Compared to other videos from Popstars, such as Rise for example; which has 46k dislikes. Through your logic is it acceptable to go off on that "a whole lot of people are over her and her crap". When the reality is, no they aren't.
Surprise, she repeats the chorus throughout the song. Who would've thought? Anyways, the song is mediocre. But I am still excited for her album although I'll probably be listening to other albums that I know I'll love such as Kishi Bashi's Sonderlust, definitely a AOTY contender for me.

It’s a shame that this brilliant song wasn’t really appreciated for what it was. I thought the accompanying video was beautiful. Gaga was stripped back. No OTT costumes, no perfectly timed and executed choreography with a troop of dancers behind her. Just Gaga in the desert, cut off shorts and basic t.shirt. Hair scraped back into a messy ponytail with Gaga dancing like a woman possessed. I love love love this. It’s a 👍🏼from me.

Definitivamente la "perfecta ilusión" de Lady Gaga fue: la fama y, aquellos que decían apoyarla y quererla. Es por eso que ella tiene una visión de los días de gloria pasados. Donde, el público bailaba, cantaba sus canciones. Después vino la traición por parte de personas muy cercanas a ellas y muchos que decían ser sus "superfans" la abandonaron (era Artpop) y despierta en medio del desierto para darse cuenta que "la perfecta ilusión" desapareció. Es por eso que "no fue amor..." Excelente el significado del vídeo con la canción. Creo que no ven esa perspectiva,por eso, no les gusto a muchos. Sin embargo, a mí me fascino completamente.
