6:10 when Hikaru does that, you know he has it all worked out till the very end of the line and he already knows what he’s gonna have for dinner tonight
Nah, hikaru bopping his head to music is more deadly.
did u mean 8:10? that look up right before confidently moving = game over
Then he looks up to the sky and imagines how the chat would backseat him
And he will offer vishy to join the same dinner
@@slothbearanonymous take, take, take, take, take and take, checkmate
Shawn probably is the local hoops legend who hasn't lost in 100 games, until Jordan shows up one day with a pineapple shirt.
That implies Hikaru is Jordan (the goat). Magnus is Jordan, not Hikaru.
@JD shut up bro. You're ruining the funny. Magnus is not the goat
Lolll
@@JD______ nah Magnus is Lebron the true goat
@@JD______ no its just loose analogy relax lol
4:15 that smile though
That damned smile
Imagine facing Hikaru you go into a deep think finding what you believe to be a good winning line but just before you move you glance up at him and he's just staring at that ceiling bobbing his head to the music and it's at this moment you know you've already lost.
especially when Naka tells you he was going over his grocery list...
So this Hikaru guy is strong enough to qualify for junior championship. Way to go!
😅😅😅😅
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Yes I didn't know him, this Hikaru has some potential
Somewhat good at chess.. I've seen better
@@cedricleblanc nah I reckon I could beat him
I cannot get enough of the intro to this Toronto OTB series! Awesome stuff Editor!
Also, the way Hikaru can just non-stop attack even as black will never not be impressive...
Kudos! Junior World Champ did his best, but still u know what GM can do, they can be brutal... Superb attack by GM Hikaru.
Can't go easy on them since thats actually an insult so if your not blasting them with your full might and end up crushing them then they need to work hard coz yeah the grind bruh and gotta keep at it so you help em by showing them strength.
Did he do his best? He played a3 and played really quickly at the start
@@CWPWWRESTLING despite his opening, i believe he did his best and aim to win against a top rated GM Hikaru.
@@CWPWWRESTLING it wasn't too bad, look at the eval bar at the start
I think a draw was drawn with shawn being black with the first game. To witness a draw to a super gm is extra ordinary.
Computer had strong win for Hikaru all the way but I couldn't see it.
White are in a quite shitty position after piece exchanges on g4. Black can start his attack with bishop and queen facing h2 and white bishop on g4 is rather misplaced (steps in a way of it's king in some variations after ..f5 and mate is threatened). Well, white tried his best to find some counterplay but it was kind of situation when you think you are about equal and then after one move you suddenly realize it's too late to organize a good defense, as your pieces are too far from the place where main action happens.
He shows much respect by playing him in even time controls
Seriously! I thought he’d give him 5:1 time odds and still beat him 😂
Hah didn’t even notice that!
They are all GMs
@@ThereAreTwoGenders yeah i assumed jr champion was a gm, i stand by my statement
@@bradleyherwy2026 He is IM (with one GM norm) not GM. He isn't the world junior champion. He is the worlds under 18 champion. IM Gadimbayli from Azerbaijan won the worlds junior (and became a GM by winning it).
That is ridiculous from Hikaru. Beautiful chess played, and I appreciate the evaluation bar on the side.
Wild game! You are so good at preserving your options that it seems to me that even if you are dead, you are alive. You play quantum chess, slippery as an eel, like Shrodingers cat or something with the only observer capable of determining which being Stockfish. To my eye you were clearly better but then all hell broke loose and I am not sure that you were winning at all points after move fifteen...what say the Stockfish observer Oracle?
Nice to see you interacting with people in a normal way. Socializing is important for human beings.
Naka is very good, his understanding of chess is awesome plus what i like a lot about him is that he is a humble person, "Emanuel Lasker also mentioned that greatness doesn't come in fine garbs"( quite the opposite see how Nakamura takes these things he is doing in his stride!(Just a real master of the game got that kind of mindset!)
He’s changed and matured considerably. As a teenager, he was a monster, but now he’s a chill dude.
calling Naka "very good" is like calling calling an atom pretty small. Come on...
@@geometricart7851 he's rating says it all "very good means 2700's...but then you get Magnus now he is not very good, he is the best(fact)🤣
I liked the opening a3, part psychology and part tribute. Got a smile from Hikaru. 😉
Great game. Rodrigue-Lemieu has a current FIDE rating of 2465.
What does world junior chess champion mean ? Is he under 18yo or something?
@@M7md_n29er Yes but specifically they're *under 20 years old* on January 1st of the year of the tournament (all participants in this year's WJC are below 20 by January 1, 2022)
@@julseu_lol wait so like alireza could play in it?
Non GMs or maybe IMs that are under a certain age. Wiki says the winner is awarded an IM or GM title.
@@M7md_n29er the title is wrong, shawn didn’t win world junior chess championship (under 20 yo), he won the world youth chess championship (under 18)
The most solid handshake I’ve ever seen in chess at the beginning of the match.
Beautiful game🔥🙌
That was a really solid game. Feel like he held a good position for quite a bit. I think the time frame is what challenged him at the end the most
Well better players skills show more as the game progresses.
9:01 for anyone wondering. The best move was Re6 (-0.6 according to stockfish)
Bg3! That is the move of the match. You already knew nothing good is gonna happen when you take that bishop. And when he did not take it it became apparent that he is really trying to sac the whole Kings area.
Love your battles against world players.
Hmmmm, who would win? An IM, or the highest-rated blitz player in the world?
9:47 Hikaru already thinking bout his next game
I think the other guy had something on 7:36 he could have checked with Rg6 instead of moving the queen back
9:36 Did he blunder? Or just wanted to be able to say that he checked Hikaru.
Lol
he was under 5 secs and had no good moves so he made a move
He was hoping for Kh7 or Kh6 so that Qxh4 would be check. It’s a good try
Sounds like a true OTB tourney, coughing constantly, and someone beating up a water bottle like it owes them money
This hikaru guy played well!!! He might become a fide master one day!!!
Wait what ?!?! Did this kid who's an IM actually beat GM praf and GM gukesh in junior chess championship???
They weren't playing
But he's gonna be GM soon anyways
1:49 ... Bd6! In my mind, White already has trouble on the horizon soon, king side. h3 and h2 look vulnerable. It was just a matter of time before Hikaru got his Q involved.
I dont think he was disrepectful starting with a3. He probably knows that going into theory against Hikaru is bad, so It might as well getting out of it as soon as he can
Cool to see you brought back the scrub stomping videos. 😅
A professional chess grandmaster is not just the pattern of play that sets him apart from an amateur player. It is quite clear that in this game the theory of good and bad bishops does not work because the opponent's two bishops are totally out of the game being the squares and outposts of the bishop's knight. A line break or column break (rupture), at all. Random chess is exactly that game pattern. Educated chess is what sets us apart and makes it so that with time and dedication and overcoming incredible results we started to connect with chess globally both in person and virtually. Talent is merit of you GM Hikaru to show and conquer the world and the backstage of chess with a great player of the chess elite. 🙄🤔☝
I feel like I'm having a stroke. Like that's English and that sounds like people talking about chess but I have no idea what it means. Is this a poem
Just toying with him, pure genius Nakamura! 💪💪💪
6:35 was the final blow. 🚬 I didn't see it!
Great game (well, I'm not where near Shawn's level), I can see Shawn's brain is calculating at 100,000rpm, in contrast Hikaru is just chilling (maybe get slightly serious at some point)
I am 2300+ online chess and I couldnt comprehend any of these complicated lines let alone calculating in blitz
6:13 Hikaru caught cheating during the game with the ceiling engine RED HANDED.
Goodluck hikaru young blood..u have. Bright future ..
This is so advance I don’t even know who won
same
He resigned because white queen is trapped and after the queen is lost, it will be mate soon. For example, if Qxh4 then Qg2. Or if Qf1 then Qh2
@@yitwailu2 ohh ok I get it, thank you so much!!
@@yitwailu2 thank you for this brother!
😆 🤣 😂 😹 9:40 spite check. Good game.
Please enable captions, thank you!
Wait I went to camp with shawn this summer and I had a close game against him when he was doing a simul
Magnus is Lebron, Hikaru is Jordan
Wow. He got absolutely demolished by Hikaru. And i didn't even understand why (until the very end of course).
Giving him the tickle tickle at 8:30
at 7:05, my gut instinct was knight take on e3, I plugged into analysis and it was right. if pawn takes, queen gives check, king is forced away to e2 then rook takes bishop, queen blocks, rook takes, rook takes rook, queen takes rook, and unstoppable mate on e1
if king walks up and left away, you fork king and queen, if king walks left I didn't check but assume it would be similar to before for checks and checkmate
Blitz means nothing. But clear domination by Nak. White let the black attack playing for itself...
THE BEST SERIES ON UA-cam!
But World Youth Chess Championship to be exact.
Poor guy shaking the whole way. Great game !
He got really nervous after the book lines and seeing the diagonals towards his king.
he had a chance to save the game 9:01 by playin Rook c6 to e6
wow how does he see the bishop move so fast super GM is different lol
Timestamp?
@@jakemccoy like 6:15 he start thinking, if white take with pawn, knight fork and take queen
Often when it looks like he saw something really fast he didn't. It was just a path that was pre calculated when he was a couple steps back and he already knows if X happens I'll do Y.
Beth harmon and Hikaru have similarities .
Welcome to the Big Leagues
Was that Theo Von in the beginning asking for the dub
8:43 how about Qf2, king to h1 and then queen takes b2? Seems like a nice tactics
If Qf2 then he would have lost his queen to the horse
Yeah, looks nice. And if Qxb2, Qxg4 then Qxa1+.
Nxb2 loses to Nf2+ and Nxe4
@@epictetusphilosophy black Queen goes f2, not white, in position exactly that time I noted
@@pauldearhouse8309 Yeah exactly, rook would be hanging too, so I think white would be worse anyway
@@pauldearhouse8309 I'm wrong actually. I've just watched analysis and after Qf2 position estimation becomes equal because if black takes bishop white can go Rg6+ and estimation becomes +5 for white. Hikaru probably saw it in a second 😆
At 8:21 why doesn't white take knight with Queen ⁉️
(& exchange Queens)
Why is that not a blunder on the part of Hikaru ⁉️
Top effort. Future somebody this fella.
Dit is vals spel he dat applaus n true warrior
Run the pain n pated kien ling matted
I was waiting for Hikaru to bring that rook into the game and it was all over…
difference between SUPER GM vs Junior world champion.
The hikaru bearded guy has a potential..to compete in high competition.
love these
This should've been Rapid, not Blitz... *Then* what a fight we would gave seen!
DAMMMMN 6:00 AND HIKARU IS TERRIFYING
Bishop to G3! Jesus...
I think Red8 is far more impressive.
I have no idea why white couldn't just take with a pawn...
@@HappytreeLuis Ne3 forks the king and queen... And that's if there is no mate.
When someone plays that against you you know the end is close lol
A sac from Naka causes the opponent to crack
Funny thing about this game is shawn always have counter if only hikaru could have made a single mistake. Hikaru has to be consistently attacking so as not to get countered.
9:46 who is that arbiter??? He looks like the one from my tournament in Mississauga
he did a good job of gaining back after the mate threat but then just to lose it all to the rook attack.
Nate Diaz really rooting for Shawn to win this?
apocalypse comes and you cannot stop the rampage 😅
The only negative is when idiots from the crowd comment loudly during the game
I am a math teacher and Shawn is studying at my school. Unfortunately, I never saw/met him.
This hikaru dude seems quite talented, I'm sure he would be a world champion if he would've participated in the World Championship
Ok, this is one of those games where I don't understand the eval at all
Really intense game for sure
35 year old junior?
dam, this Hikaru is good he should try to go pro
Excuse my ignorance, why do they use the term World Junior Chess Champion? So, junior based on age group? or ELO rating? or what exactly?
Brutal Hikaro
This is GM Andrei Jewgenjewitsch Jessipenko, Magnus Carlsen lost to him after an incredible streak of 125 games being undeafted
I cannot talk or create articles and news on my chess account. I did not insult anyone. why?
🤔😭😢
Hikaru wasn't the first to think in this game. The only reason he stalled is because per the evaluation that was the moment his opponent lost his advantage, yet he was just anticipating the next best move. When the next best move didn't happen Hikaru said, "Did my opponent blunder....? ... I don't believe him. This looks bad for white--my instincts says this is bad for white, because now I have pawn to d5 and fdjkgghsdfkljsghdklfghskldfjdghskdjfghlskdfhghskljdfghsl arrow arrow arrow"
takestakestakestakestakestakes
At 7.52 if nxh3+ andbtgen nf2 after kh1 wins?
Did he really tried to mimic Naka's speed hoping to win? Your barking in a wrong tree son.
No, they were just playing a familiar opening sequence that doesn’t require a lot of thought, and then he was low on time toward the end. But the young fella would still stomp you in a game lickety-split so yeah.
Also, it’s you’re not your and you bark up the wrong tree, not in it
@@worker-wf2em hell nah. I woulda beat him blind folded in 60 seconds. You probably 30 seconds and Im being generous.
Imagine to play a game with Hikaru Nakamura and to play a3 in move 1 KKKKKKKKKKKKKK
should have resigned in time...Hikaru is too strong!
1.a3?.... Crushed!
québec represent! gg shawn
Dude I didn’t even see that there was a pin if he took bishop omg
Junior chess championship means nothing if the strongest juniors dont play it
That was a sharp heeeell
Extraordinaire!
WjrC are the future of chess guys.
I don't understand why he didn't take the knight with the queen and played Kh1 if Hikaru tried to fork the queen and the king with the knight rotation
HIKARU, THE PEOPLES CHAMP!
Lmao the anime intro
Tremenda paliza
can someone tell me what song is being played at the beggining
Savage!
