As someone who knows some knowledge on DJing and has a passion for music, this is a common thing, "djs" will do this to make them seem like they are doing something, but yes, they are usually playing a prerecorded set, Real DJs mix their set live, she is not a DJ.
Why would djs mix their set live if there not taking requests in a booth. Pop musicians use prerecorded music also. Rock musicians have been known to prerecord backing vocals, loops, and all kinds of other stuff. There's not rules for this stuff. It's a performance. The crowd Dosent care. They are real djs, they get payed more than you or i probably ever will to apply the skill of getting the crowd into the music. If the crowd is dancing who cares if it's pre mixed, it's not like the difficult part of DJing is the 6 second process of matching BPM and sliding the channel selector.
It's a healthy mix of both. The set has to be preplanned, you have to be on time for bigger festivals. But just pressing play on the other hand is lame, sure But 99% of the crowd doesn't care, nor notice to begin with. Anf if you get a pro DJ, who's mixing the whole set live, but the music choice is meh, then anyone in the crowd will prefer the "DJ" who has bangers premixed and just pressed play 🤷 If this lady is for real and Not trolling in the clip, then I am quite certain, that she didn't even mix the prerecorded set and is just making use of some other dudes work. This dude most likely doesn't want to be seen and they decided it would be a good idea to pretend it's her work to become more "viral" and more people wanna see a "pretty DJ" over some dude who isn't confident to be on a stage, or something like that. No matter what, I hope she is just trolling for publicity, else it's cringe af

Well I work in corporate and more than half the people hired here are as you say "cringe". Yet they get higher pay and promotions for doing nothing other than starring at their screens... We work 10hrs overtime to makeup for the work they leave incomplete... 🤷🏻♀️
As a DJ and former fake DJ, it's pretty easy to have all the gear, no idea and still impress people. I began by never mixing live. I had button for lights and graphics and that's the only things that worked other than the volume and the play button. I mixed before in my room and played the same thing over and over again to crowds but i think I would probably have concluded paying someone better looking to play my pre mixed tracks because it would probably get more attention. Especially if it's a hot DJ.

this happens so often, that we dont even consider it fraud anymore. many of us do this, because it builds hype in the crowd. from ur perspective, it looks like we're smashing buttons, tweaking knobs, etc. this makes u think/expect a huge bass drop is coming, which in turn, builds hype. we dont actually press anything, because we've already picked a song/drop for that section, and we dont want to mess anything up. it's pretty much the same concept as a DJ dancing to a shit song. they know it's shit, but their dancing builds hype in the crowd. anyway, hope this helps
I don't think she's lying about her skills as a DJ. I think she is a real DJ and this is a troll video and HERE is my evidence! Look at her hands, they may not press any buttons but they are INCREDIBLY precise! Like... ask a non guitarist to play air guitar, they have NO IDEA what to do with their hand, sure, anyone can fake a strum, maybe even hit some of the correct down strums, but no chords with the left hand, moving up and down like a maniac! It takes some real skill to be able to fake something so well and the fact she's hitting the imaginary buttons so precisely and not all over the turntables randomly makes me think she does actually know what she's doing!
Honestly what is a real DJ these days? Because most DJ use Serrato or some other mixing program that does all the work for them they just press the Sync button. It's rare to find a DJ that still mixes by ear.
The LEDS on the CDJS and DJM’s are not On Fake sliding the vertical sliders are for the tracks playing she tried to slide down on a non existent track, Fake Cue Button Push (you press the cue to preview the next track while the previous track is playing), in the next vid you you see her press play on Deck 2 (the right deck facing her), thankfully the vinyl button was not on, if it was while she was touching the jog wheel the Track playing on that deck would stop (thats how you get the boowoop awa awa scratching effect) her winding it clockwise would speed up the track. My conclusion: Its a pre-Recorded Set, she’s doing it for showmanship. Edit: i checked the Original Video, She even pressed the Loop Buttons, the 2 Round White Buttons (it lights up orange if it was Turned ON) top left on the CdJ’s.

I think it's the same principle right here but whatever company she works for is using her body as a way to advertise for people to hire her. The music is probably prerecorded as well.
