    Very Nice Reidar, can you explain me about power mode and normal mode on thruster applications, usually rolls Royce applications pls

      In short the normal speed mode the handle on the bridge controls the rpm on the propeller and power limit is only the maximum allowed outtake from the diesel gensets then, propeller usually operating below. In power mode the handle on the bridge is set to the power limit and the speed reference set to fixed 100%. This ensures a constant kilowatt/ power from the diesel gensets regardless of the rpm on the propeller. Quite useful when big waves and rough sea to avoid diesel generators to be loaded up and down alternating with the ship movements and speed trough water. Power mode is also useful when multifuel gensets because power dynamics are poor with fuels like LNG. They benifit from a constant power outtake.
