Good tips. I remember when I was a little girl ( a long time ago ), we lived in a house that only had 4 rooms. Living room, kitchen & 2 bedrooms. Bathroom was an outhouse. Winter time we had a chamber pot that one of my brothers had to empty and clean for the next night. Baths were done in a wash tub in the kitchen.. Clothes were washed in a wringer washer on the back porch. My grandparents house had a wood burning cook stove in the kitchen.. My grandmother cooked every night even if it was 100 degrees. No air conditioning. They also had 1 room that didn't have a floor,, just the dirt ground.. I am so thankful and happy I have a toilet and bathroom to clean, along with the other conveniences of my home. Believe me, I have days I don't want to clean, then I think of these things which motivates me to get busy.

I was a SAHM. My kids are 30 this June. I struggled with feeling like it was enough more so now that they are gone than when they were around. I was so busy being mom and wife that I never realized if it was an issue not working for money. My husband worked hard, long hours and it was so wonderful to be home to have home cooked meals everyday, get the grocery shopping done, clean the house so it was comfortable. I love organizing and planning trips and doing so many things that if I was too tired to do wouldn’t happen. I respect all women for whatever they choose to do. Being a SAHM I belonged to a playgroup, then hung out with the moms I met at the school I volunteered at. Now, it’s a whole new ball game. My kids are gone and I am a creative so I started an Etsy kids printable shop for parties and it may not have taken off yet but the joy comes from waking up and planning. I am grateful now that I have the time to go on vacations with my husband and friends that love planning girls nights. Whew! Sorry. Rambling. Good vlog.

Michele momoftwins I totally agree and think about that often - it’s such a blessing being able to just focus on the stuff at home rather than having to juggle both. Good luck with your Etsy shop!! 💕

Great tips, Holly! Being home with Alex all day is such a blessing, but it’s also a huge adjustment since my busy waitressing days before he was born. I was used to a different pace and a different kind of energy that I got from the restaurant. I felt useful there. It’s so important to understand the value of being a homemaker. It is a high calling, when we view it correctly. Thank you for bringing attention to this topic! 💗

Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing!!
My son is 7 and my daughter is 3. We homeschool, and things can get a bit messy! 😅 We use the timer trick, but I call it "A Musical Minute" basically I play any song that they want, and they try to pick up their room before the song ends. It's hilarious and so much fun and I was surprised it worked so well. Lol. Musical Minutes typically happen right after our lessons are done and again right before bed. It's fun to see everyone doing their share of the chores. And music is just good for the soul!! 💕
I look forward to seeing more videos from your channel!!

I've been home with my 3 kids for almost 4 years now and I love everything you suggested. I also think it's great to have a hobby that is for you as the Mum and that it makes us better mums when we don't feel guilty about still doing things we enjoy.

I definitely agree with the social media thing. I struggle with UA-cam... Watching motivational videos help me be productive but at the same time people are showing their newest or favortie purchase and it makes it harder for me to be content with our current possessions. I am struggling to find a balance.

I completely agree with you! I never made the full switch to SAHM but having a baby has taught me how to appreciate the comforts of home.

It helps when the person working outside of your home appreciates the work you do and the fact that it really is more of a 24 hour obligation, which you will also need a break from on occasion, like a girl's night out or something similar as an occasional change of pace...
I never got that appreciation from my ex-husband. I also wanted to homeschool our kids, but he had zero appreciation for my efforts. So, I have worked outside of the home for many years... and my babes are grown and making me a happy grandma and I am still working outside the home...
I am glad you get to enjoy this homemaker status!

Great tips! 😊 Thanks. I'm so happy I found this video. Just watched it twice. Definitely related tips. My favorite is the gratitude tip. It's funny because as much as I thank God in prayer every day and yes mean it from the heart ❤️... something about stopping to focus on how grateful I am, how the prayers have been answered, really refreshes my perspective in my daily life. Looking forward to checking out more videos.

Thankyou so much for this encouraging video. I have a 4 month old baby boy. I decided to be a stay at home mom. I love staying home with him but I’ve been struggling with feeling like I don’t have anyone to talk to and feeling like Im not doing enough. I love how you said to play podcasts or audio books throughout the day. I started doing that the last couple days and I noticed a huge difference with how I feel. This video just really encouraged me. ❤️

Oh wow, this first thought is so true. My husband decorated and chose all the furniture himself and I gave in, even though my taste is different. I often dont feel like cleaning a space that I wouldnt have chosen that way

That would be awful 😣 those things would not be getting taken care of in my house. I’m grateful my husband leaves it to me… I grew up in a house that my dad decorated basically like one whole man cave or a tavern 😕 but in actuality my mom didn’t seem to really care 🤷🏻‍♀️

That gratitude for your home is really hard for me. We live in an old drafty trailer, with hideous wallpaper and floors peeling up and counter tops also peeling up 😑 i hate it. Its my biggest struggle.
    Thanks for the video.

It is hard when your space is not nice. Try to focus on being grateful that you have a home....if you don't have to live with in-laws or have roommates, be thankful for that...be thankful for warm blankets, running water...if you have a washer/dryer, be glad you don't have to go to the laundry mat, if it's in a safe neighborhood, be glad you don't have to live in fear.
And try to make one spot in the trailer that's pretty and keep your eyes focused there.

Austėja Rimkutė I surprisingly don’t! It was hard for me to let go of just from an identity place I think? If that makes sense? But I feel creatively fulfilled with my UA-cam channel and projects around the house so I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. I could see me opening a store again in the future, but my life feels very happy and full right now 💕
