MASS SHOOTING: 3 dead, 11 injured after shooting on South Street in Philadelphia

- A barrage of bullets from multiple shooters left three people dead and nearly a dozen more wounded on South Street in Philadelphia.
It all happened shortly before midnight Saturday when police on patrol heard numerous gunshots from the 200 block of South Street.
Those officers saw several active shooters firing into a crowd, Inspector D F Pace said during an early Sunday morning news conference.
One of those officers fired at one of the shooters. It's unclear if that suspect was hit, Pace said.

I left Philadelphia last year. One of the best decisions I've ever made. The city is a dump full of violent crime.

I have to speak to the way inspector Pace gives his briefing. His attitude, calm, patience, precision, humility and respect gives the impression that he works to serve the people.
It also shows how often he’s been in situations like this. Philly gets multiple daily confirmed shots fired and killings and it’s becoming very sad and frustrating for everyone who lives here. It kinda makes me feel bad for the guy because the city is doing nothing to aid these officers besides wear orange for gun protest as if that’ll change things.
He’s seems to be just fed up🫣🥺😩 Philly is beyond dangerous for him as well!

I live here. There was zero police presence on South st last night leading up to this. Some nights there's a ton, others zero. When there is, they usually gather in huge groups. What happened to spreading out in 2s and walking. Citizens are preparing to take over policing. We all saw Texas. There is a saying, if you want a job done, do it yourself.
The problem with cops is the hiring process selects for low iq psychopaths who will follow whatever orders for a paycheck. Their motivation isnt to help or to make a better place for everyone. Just to make it home at the end of the day and a paycheck at the end of the week.

I live in Baltimore where there is virtually no ability to carry firearms outside the home other than long-rifles which nobody does. These laws aren't going to work New York already had a law on Banning the use of body armor while committing a crime. How did words on a peice of paper work?

The real problem is the lack of will to address the low-hanging fruit that could curb these events. We have no universal laws that limit gun ownership for people at risk for violence (stalkers, domestic abuse), mentally unstable, or even laws that have background checks on ALL sales (not just most sales), nor laws nor substantial consequences for families or friends that buy a weapon for someone prohibited from owning a weapon (a felon). We should at least address those gaps, no?

It’s becoming really sketchy at this point. After the Las Vegas Shooting years ago, I question these shootings on who’s behind it. During the Vegas shooting, people who were there said there were two gunmen instead of one. Say what u want, but i think government has a little bit of influence on these shootings and I can think of a couple reasons why.
