Looks like a lot of fun. I got tickled watching you hunt the lever you wanted to use. After 37 years running that throttle hanging out the window forward or backing up looking for signals, setting the train line air, bailing off the engine brakes, adjusting the throttle and blowing the whistle and turning on the stinking bell all without looking or turning around you get used to where everything is without thinking about it.🤪😂
Absolutely, of all the model train products this is probably my favorite piece! It makes operations feel less like running model trains and more like the real thing
this throttle is SWEET... this is EXACTLY how the real thing operates... modelers get the real feel of what it's like to operate a locomotive... nice vid
Very fine video! Getting to the reprogramming/upgrading my locomotives step now. The programmed throttle is awesome! Thanks for sharing! Three point is throttle off, reverser neutral and brake set. That protects your conductor or fingers……. Enjoy!!!
I was trying to figure out what wireless DCC throttle to get when I upgrade to better hardware. I was looking at the ECU LocControl (I think it's called) with the little PDA and the throttle knob for ease of switching between several units. But.. In reality I very rarely have more than one unit moving at a time anyway and this little piece of kit looks INCREDIBLE.
ghoststalker44 Mostly lighting functions, each output for headlight, dim headlight, ditch lights, etc. need to be controllable from a separate function to work on the Proto Throttle. Also you need to set the acceration/deceleration and braking values high for best results.
@@BradleyDCC I had that figured out already thanks, was merely curious whether the manufacturer had a steam version (they don't). It's a neat controller, but too pricey at $500 a pop.
Maybe they will consider a steam version or at least other types of diesel controllers once this one gains more popularity. I think the price is worth it 100%, I enjoy every minute of switching with it. A completely different experience than the "knob" type controller.
@@BradleyDCC I certainly hope so, but I think that if it is going to reach a larger audience, the price will have to come down significantly, or be offered as a full DCC system (or a pack-in deal with a system) as opposed to just a throttle. Not saying I'm not a fan, I think it's an amazing bit of kit, just needs a steam engine version and a price drop. Appreciate the responses all the same!
It is compatible with a NCE system with a ProtoThrottle to NCE Receiver. Mine is being shipped now, and will be connected to a NCE Power Pro - 5amp System.

Nice job !!
I'm curious as to what your brake settings are and what F key you use.
That's cool!
Wish they had something like this in o scale
Totally AWESOME!!
Might be exceeding some yard speed limits there lol, very cool throttle though
Very nice. Just out of my price range for sure.
Just got one of these, must be time to start sending back my Geeps for conversion to Loksound :)
You won't regret either choice!
Very Nice My Friend,do you know where i can get it one of those
Iowa Scaled Engineering
Feels like I’m working
Oh, I need one of these! Nice video love some classic switching operations. Keep up the great work!
Nice. Very very nice.
Now, that looks very interesting... Thank you for posting!
I was wondering when you were gonna get one of these. It looks really cool.
I want to see it being used with a Amtrak F40PH at Notch 8, It wouldve been cool if it had a speedometer
Funny thing is just the other day I was wishing there was a dcc controller like this
Wow!
What decoder do you have in the locomotive it sounds amazing!
Dman Dc LokSound V4.0
Boa tarde!
I bought one of these as well. What all did you have to change in the Lokprogrammer to get the hand held to work properly?

Do they make one for steamers?
No, this type of controller is only for diesels

nice geep what sound decoder did u put in that engine
chris LokSound V4.0
All you need now is a brakemen to do car count
Sweet Jesus.... is that throttle compatible with nce systems?
RUSTED RAILS lol I was about to ask that too 😂😂
It is compatible with a NCE system with a ProtoThrottle to NCE Receiver. Mine is being shipped now, and will be connected to a NCE Power Pro - 5amp System.
It also works with the ESU Cab Control system, Lentz and Digitrac, good video, your sound is awesome
Wow! Super!
What's the price?
Bryan Singleton $428.99 MRSP, I believe.
$482, receivers are $99
Have you tried to consist 2 or 3 engines with that throttle, great video thanks for sharing.....
I have consisted two, three or more would be the same. I use my regular DCC controller to set up an advanced consist.
BradleyDCC will that throttle let you use drive hold on ESU units?
Show
$400.00
Out of alot of people's price range. They just keep doing stuff that makes people leave the hobby
But then people buy like 10 $300+ locomotives lol
