I have been fighting intermittent charging issues for 9 months now. Audi apparently issued a recall this week for the issue. There is no fix yet but they hope to have it done and dusted in the next 3 months.

i just traded in my 2021 Etron. I only got $25000 trade in. So many issues with mine. At 16000 miles coolant leaked and killed both motors. It was a $14000 fix but warranty covered it. The reason I dumped it was Audi said the motor replacement could be required again because Audi did not fix the seals issues. My warranty will be expired if it happens again in 16000 miles. The other issue is the big battery recall. This killed my trade in value. I lost a lot.
Urgh. I feel your pain. Sorry that happened to you. I know when I sell/trade mine I'm gonna take a bath on it. Audi last told me that my chargers that I had were not rebust enough to charge the vehicle so that is why it would fail to charge. Guess what, yesterday, with the Audi branded charger I bought brand new it failed to charge again. I have spent $900 on EVSEs to try and charge this beast at the request of Audi and it did not fix the issue. She's going back to the shop tomorrow. I love the car when it runs. Unfortunately that is a semi-rare occurance.

I'm beyond POd with Audi. Got the battery fire recall on my 2022 etron. Purchased for $80k. This could burn my home down. Huge risk. Called dealer, they said cant do anything. Called customer care, same thing. They don't care. I asked for a loaner until issue is resolved but they said no way. Asked for buy back and they said no way.
If my house burns down because of the car or I get injured or die, then what? This is insane. I will never ever buy an Audi or VW brand ever again! I will bash them to everyone I know.
Had an engine issue with my Lexus years ago past warranty and they still fixed it without any cost to me. They stand by their brand. I expected better from Audi. So so disappointing.
Agreed. I would at least reach out to your statute’s DOT to check the lemon laws. You may be able to receive some sort of compensation. Audi is not likely to ‘help’ in the lemon law process so I would do some research and submit some queries and paperwork to see about getting something going. Good luck!!!
Did you/they/someone find the culprit? :) Having the same issue.
Came down to a busted charging port. It was leaking and letting moisture in and causing the charger to abort/fail. Once that was replaced it solved that issue.
Not sure if you saw already but a couple days later there’s a recall for a different reason. Depending on the year it could catch on fire.
Yeah, i did see that. I think ill be taking this one to wait at the dealer. Its been 6 days since ive been able to get it to charge.
My 21 Etron is giving me serious issues. Just has serious sunroof leaking fixed under warranty $4800 and now Audi says my battery is a fire risk and being recalled but they said they will install software that will limit charging to 70% and monitor for faults. No ETA on the software.
I already limit to 80% just to make the battery last so I won't see a huge difference. I'm sorry you're feelin' the pain of etron ownership too. This is garbage. We paid a premium price for a premium automobile and got substandard junk. Software issues and "Beta testing" hardware is why I didn't buy a Tesla... I would have expected better from Audi.
is this happening on fast charger like EA or only home? I have way too many issues with this car. Leaky sunroof, broken charging actuator (replaced), new dashboard, range issues, etc etc.). It's a joke that 85k car has that many issues... (new recall for batteries coming up)
Everywhere. I tried lvl 1, lvl 2 and DCFC chargers and it would not charge. Hopefully a software bump fixes mine. You’re right that a car of this price tag should be of a caliber that we shouldn’t be experiencing issues like these. I’ll count myself lucky that I just had the charging and dashboard bubbling issue.
@@kiltedtexan I had so far everything on TSB except rear light bar. I am joking with my wife that in this trend we will have 2024 Etron out of this in a year. (purchased 4 years extended warranty)
your issue with charging seems to be different than the recall issue which is related to fire hazard and is rectified by using a 3rd party level 2 charger

My etron went out yesterday, driving and I heard a loud noice. The car disabled and it said electrical malfunction. I regret getting the is Audi. I hate it

I just bought 3 weeks ago 2024 Q4 etron. Charged couple times with EA with no problem till last week it onlu charging 10-15ish mins then it stop .have to unplug n plug again to continue charging.is this charging station EA issue or car issue? Havent tried evgo station yet. Tried level 2 shellrecharge charged 3 hours with no problem.
The Q4 is based on the same architecture as the VW ID.4. They don't tend to have many issues with EA chargers so my guess is that the problem lies with the EA Station. It's possible it is with the car but not likely. Each EA station seems to have its little quirks and I think you may have found one that freaks out a bit once it gets hot. I would definitely try another station and if a DCFC session on another provider stops part way through, it's gonna be the vehicle.

What happened?
I've been trying to get a video out about the resolution of this process but Audi has the car back again now for a leaky sunroof and a battery module replacement and calibration. Basically they finally listened to me and looked at the logs which showed a heat issue in the actual charge port. They replaced the port and it has been charging correctly now for about a month (of course that was a month ago before I took it back to audi for its current round of issues). There was also a cash settlement involved because I did file a federal breach of warranty claim. I'll get into that when I get the car back and can complete the latest video on the Audi.
My 2020 Etron 55 is now subject to a recall for the battery in the UK, not being fixed until April 26th 2024 ( maybe) if the tooling and parts come in they are on back order, then wait for it !!! also needs a software update after that which they say wont come till Q3 2024, till then the recall notice will remain in place, was trading in the car for a new one then dealer wont accept with the new recall now showing on DVLA check. And co-incidentally this morning, I couldn't charge from the high power DC charging stations at the highway services,, tried 5 different ones, all other cars seemed ok, this along with both charging ports already repaired under warranty, virtual mirrors replaced. and other issues, re-sale values have dropped. Never again Audi !!! Currently taking legal advise
OOF! Sorry to hear about this. In the U.S. there are "Lemon Laws" to help with this type of issue. I'm sorry I don't know more about the U.K. laws regarding warranty and manufacturer responsibility. I just got my Etron back from its 6th visit to Audi in a year and I haven't seen my charging issue pop back up yet (I've had it back about a week). I am of a similar mind as you that Audi will not be getting any more of my business. I hope for the best for you my friend.
Did you ever get this resolved? I am currently going through the same issue and am in the UK and am at the point of getting legal advice.
