Table Saw Router Table Wing Upgrade

- My table saw (Ridgid 4512) has stamped steel wings that are removable for custom upgrading. I finally decided to take advantage of this by creating a router table insert. Using a Kreg face plate I was able to mount my Hitachi router and install the whole wing in just one weekend.

Came here for the router table, taking away the dog and vice. Great idea as that I will use to optimize space in my shop.
Great to hear! Happy woodworking.
This is the first of your videos I've seen. It is well done. I've been convalescing, watching a lot of UA-cam videos when I haven't the energy for more active pursuits. This video is, as I said, well done. I hope you'll continue as you progress in the craft. PS: router fences need built in dust collection.
Thank you for showing this! I have the slightly older Rigid with the cast iron wings and I've been itching to use that vacant space on the right side for a router lift. Well done!
Glad the video helped! Good luck with your project :)
Great job, it seems that dust collection would be the next paramount task.
Indeed - thanks!
I really like your channel, you explain your subjects and projects very good.....Did you ever give any dust collection to this design?👍
Thanks bud!
Simple and looks great. Good job.
Love it !! Brilliant idea 😊👌
Thanks, Mahendra!
i took the wing off my saw and am in process building new router table
Greetings! Finally working up the gumption to build the fence for my build. Same saw, different lift.... I used all your ideas thus far and was so simple! Have you changed anything about this fence systems for the router table?
Thanks for the video. I like the idea of integrating the router table with the table saw, but I'm wary of two things. First, I'm unsure that the aluminum fence rails are strong enough to support a large router, thick platform and dust collection box. Second, I don't know if the additional weight will make it more difficult to move the entire table saw when everything is mounted to it. What has your experience been? Have you noticed any flex in the aluminum railings? Can you still roll your table saw around with the additional attachments? Thanks again....
Great questions, and fair concerns. In my experience since building these upgrades, I have had absolutely no deformities in the rails. As for moving it, you have to put a little more effort into that initial push, but that's it. Truly, it's a nominal increase. Thanks for watching!
Do you have a video on that vise/workbench deal?
What kind of fence system is that?
I have a craftsman 218330 table saw which is pretty much the same as your ridged 4512. I am going to make this router table ext but I did have one question; do you have a issue with your fence moving slightly as you clamp it down? And if so how did you fix it? On mine the top part of the fence moves inward like 1/8 of inch if I clamp it down without having a speed square against the fence. Thank you.
I have the same fence on my rigid, mine doesn't move and is accurate as all get out. Any saw is only as good as it's fence. Funny how a high quality fence can cost as much as the saw. :-/
Where did you get that fence? Looks after market and the one I have is garbage. Little help?
That fence comes with the Ridgid 4512, and then he made it double for the router table. Great ideas! I have this saw, you cant beat the function and quality for the money under 600.
3:00 min. Did you ever work for an airline?
LOL, no I have never worked for an airline, but I totally see what you were seeing.
Wouldn’t it be better to have your wing nuts on the other side of fence from blade?
The add-on for the fence is solely for the router operation. You pull it off when using the blade. If the wing nuts were on the other side, you would hit them when using the fence and router together.
Why not use the table on the saw backwards and just use the original fence
Came here for router table build left scarred for life by a young pennywise the clown looking fella’ #creepy

Stop looking in a mirror, champ. You'll feel better soon.
