Thank you so much - I only needed to figure out putting the foot on and it was really clearly explained. I love free motion embroidery and bought this machine just for that as my other machine has had problems and is being returned to the manufacture.
I'm brand new to quilting and am wondering exactly which feet I need to buy in order to do regular quilting. Does 'free motion' quilting require the same parts as regular quilting? Yes, I'm betraying my utter lack of experience here. I do, however, LOVE this machine and have found it to be pretty forgiving and easy to troubleshoot.
Free motion needs the special "foot with a hole in it" like what she put on in this video. To quilt your top/middle/bottom pieces of fabric together it's best to buy a walking foot /even feed foot. However, you can use the standard foot that comes with your machine if you don't have a even feed foot.
You should drop by a local fabric or sewing machine store. They will be able to show you all the regular parts for sewing, free motion isn't what you're looking for.
Thanks, I have a plastic bag with a foot, a brush, a little plastic foot, a screwdriver and another piece of metal that looks like a triangle. I think this could be the invisible zipper foot. Some of the stuff that comes with the machine is unknown to me, never see them prior to today. Often one buy a machine with tiny things we don't know what are for? Thanks. I am going to try. I hope it is okay.
I find it very difficult to FMQ on this machine because it's too hard to control the speed. I press on the foot pedal and it whines for a bit before the needle starts moving, then it is difficult to keep it going at an even speed (touchy foot pedal?). Now I need to buy another sewing machine.
Actually you can adjust the pedal sensitivity. There is a UA-cam explaining how. Basically it is a screw adjustment that is located inside the foot pedal. Not all pedals have them but the Singer 4423 does. It's not a difficult adjustment, I'm sure you could do it. Good luck.
I want to do some embroidery on vinyl or leather that I use for this project. At the moment I am using a leather needle and the polyester thread but the thread gets very tangled
You need a very heavy thread like an upholstery thread or a bonded nylon thread, and make sure you have a needle especially intended for leather, vinyl, or denim.
The manual for my 4423 doesn't have the same darning foot as on this video, does it matter which one I use? Also where would I get the one you are using in this video? Thank you!
Mi máquina cuando cose con la aguja doble no hace el ziz Zaz por debajo o tengo que ponerle la presión en 9 para pueda coser bien pero queda muy apretada
the speed is peddle only, but worse is still the tension adjustment doesn't work. If you're new to sewing this machine is not for you! It's not very forgiving.
Yes, the foot pedal of this machine can be adjusted to respond much more slowly. It is a screw adjustment inside of the pedal housing. There is a UA-cam explaining how to do it. It's not difficult.
People be careful how we purchase this machine because it gives trouble in the bobbin areas and if you have one year warranty on it singer says that no they don't business with that no warranty is not on it as if the bobbin case is not a part of the machine and you go be lose of your money so don't follow the hype about this particular machine

Thank you! Exactly what I wanted to know.
I love this site help me understand my machine an it's the same type an model
Thank you! Do you have to close the stitch at the end?
Do you need to remove the "walking" grips on the base? I am not sure if I explained that properly.
Super clear thanks
My bobbin thread is bunching up or it looks like it’s being pulled out. Any suggestions?
Can you make the whole quilt on this machine? Or is this only for patch work quilting?
Will this foot work on a singer fashion mate? P.S. Thank you for teaching me to thread my double needle!

Darning foot is what she is using; the "foot" with a hole in it.

Do you have any videos of you doing certain patterns? Would we have to draw out the pattern on the fabric?
What is it the white fabric? Is it batting?
Estaría genial, q estos vídeos los pudieran poner subtítulos o traducirlo, están muy completos
Does this mean you can do embroidery on this machine?
Yes!
What darning foot are you using? I'd love to get that one with the clear foot. All the ones I've seen are all metal.

What are the inner parts made of?
Please let us know exactly which foot you are using

@@Zmiracle2B thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my post. I'll look into this for sure. Happy New year!
Kevin sews has the video to do that on his channel, it helps a ton to lower the speed!
@@penelope-oe2vr Thanks! I'll look for it!

It shouldn't matter.
Any low shank darning foot will work
can you use a template with that foot?
This foot has lots of adjustments please let us know

It goes too fast. Can the speed of this machine be adjusted?

@@citizenansible2130 the tension adjustment works perfectly fine on my machine, you may want to have yours looked at if it is not working correctly.

I don't rate this machine at all
Facing same issue
Anybody else find her voice irritting?
No. I like the way she speaks. She is logical, not too fast or slow, and speaks just enough to understand the little details clearly.
i like her voice but don't be fooled, she is selling one of the worst sewing machines ever made
Wow, that's rude.
No, but I find comments like this to be irritating.
Why do you care about the voice? This is a quilting tutorial. She will not sing a song nor
marry your father.
