I've been behind on videos, but i came looking for a video like this for an explanation. I watched the WHOLE process EVERY friday night when i got home from work! I loved the process! I am sad that yall are selling because, like everyone else, i felt like i sat at your table every Friday. Beautiful home. I did the same thing in Colorado and with so many uncertainties today we're trying our hardest to get it paid off soon.
I waited until I had the land paid off before starting to build, huge help in the finances. And made the construction loan all that more pleasant.
God does lead us believers. I want to personally thank you for the videos on building this beautiful house and sharing your family. God brought me to your channel when I was cutting out windows on my Meadowlark home and you showed me how to cut them straight. While health issues in my family have kept me away from Montana more than hoped for, God has provided friends and contractors, who are now friends, to keep the house work moving forward. As the health issues get resolved, wherever God leads...is the best! We are all blessed!

I think you’re wise to do that. Know it’s hard to talk about but you won’t always have your Mom & Dad and I know from experience it’s hard even being a hours drive from them when they are sick. Know they are glad your going to be closer.

What you do and how you do it is your business...I totally understand the living with adventures...We were Army for 30 years and never lived anywhere more than 2 years or so..We retired from that life to be with our parents and family which is another huge adventure we were not ready for but we love civilian life ...well kinda civilian still military though..
Love to hear about your journey. We have had quite the adventure and change in the last year or two as well. People looking on only saw changes & what they thought made our family unstable. We ourselves going through it, saw all the pieces falling together perfectly. The Lord moves in amazing ways! Not how we expect or would want sometimes. Its always the best way and once you see everything coming together it all makes sense.

I’m so glad you aren’t leaving permanently….I’m a life long Alaskan living in juneau (but born in Kodiak, raised in Haines). I was born about 6 months before statehood. Anyway, I think you two are such great ambassadors for an Alaskan channel. You do it well! I have thoroughly enjoyed your adventures.
I always thought that your house was a great investment, because it’s a wonderful way to convert your hard work into money. I don’t know the financial side, but I have genuinely enjoyed watching you build it and can’t wait to see you building another one if you are willing to show it again. Ps. what was the one choice you made with the current house that you would not make again with the new one?

It's actually quite common for builders and developers who build or remodel and then sell that property. I suspect that your viewers just never thought you would be doing that. The economy changes rapidly these years and that effects all of us. We are in a strange place in history where often we can rent for less than pay for a home as well as maintenance and property taxes. I applaude your belief of not living in debt. I do the same. Your parent are aging and they will not be around for ever either so going to Montana makes sense.
You all are the best. It seems easy to get emotionally invested in what you do! I guess though, that is a sign of how attached we have become to you 😁 I look forward to your next adventure.

Now that you've lived in Alaska would you recommend living in Alaska to a military family who's not outdoorsy? They'd be stationed at Fort Wainwright.
Fort Wainwright is in Fairbanks and there is a lot of winter there. If they don’t like winter it’s probably not the place for them!
