i'm so impressed you can get your work off the wheel without deforming it much. I cannot, for the life of me, manage it aha

It can be tricky, when I make pieces with wider bases I need to throw on bats, because they're really hard to lift. As for these ones, it highly depends on the clay and the thickness of the pieces, but I found the most important things are:
      1. The beveled cut I make at the end of throwing (which reduces the area of contact between the clay and the wheel).
      2. Using a thick twisted wire, that really separates the clay with a rough cut, making it much easier to lift.
Hope these tips are helpful : )

    do you recycle your clay?

Yes, I do. In fact, the clay used in this video is all recycled. I've been using a white and a dark stoneware clay bodies and this reclaim clay is a mix of both.

@@da_forma nice! I've been struggling a bit with the recycling process. Are you planning on doing a video about your recycling process? I would totally watch that!

@@lucashaensch8255 I do have a published video showing how I do it, or at least part of the process. Maybe give it a watch and let me know afterwards what is still unclear.

@@da_forma I've watched it and the thing I think I'm confused about it is how do you clean your wheel and workspace.
I've read about how clay particles can damage your plumbing system and have been wondering how does one clean without using a sink 😅
I don't know if this is just a problem in my country's plumbing system or if it's worldwide stuff

It is a problem everywhere. What I do is having a big bucket for my reclaim clay and that bucket usually has more water than clay, so that the clay sinks and a big layer of clear water stays on top. To clean the wheel, my tools and so on, I use a big sponge and that same water from the bucket, so all the clay ends up in the reclaim bucket. When you need to reclaim the clay, just let the clay sit for a couple of days and you can take out the clear water from the top that won't damage any plumbing. Hope this description helps!
