Awesome job Steph. That spider would have bit the dust for sure. Love the trellis your hubby made for ya. You grew some really nice plants this year. Enjoyed watching your grow from start till now. Keep up the good work and have a great week! :-)

Thank you! I'm loving the trellis as well, we figure it will be easy to pick up and move around for crop rotation as well. Thank you again and hope you have a great week! ~Stephanie

Love the trellis system Stephanie, I think it's gonna work well for your squash!! I started using Epsom salt myself this year in my raised beds, seems to be working good!! Thank you for sharing and y'all have a wonderful weekend!! Dan

I have those spiders too. They always run away, & I figure they're spiders, they eat bugs, hopefully they're eating the bad bugs, so I let them be.
Last spring I was letting my dogs out, it was dark, I was shining the flashlight around and about 20 yard away I kept catching this glint of light on the ground, like when light hits an animals eye. I thought it must be a piece of tinsel blown off a decoration during winter or something. I walked up to it, and I kid you not it was one of those spiders. I nearly crapped my knickers. He was big enough that his eyes showed up in the grass with the mag light at 20 yrds. I didn't even know spider eyes did that. Size wise he would have been a little smaller than a mason jar lid, of course that includes leg span. If his body was that big, I would have just tossed him the keys to the house and moved :)

LOL i think i would have done the same! That's nuts that the eyes actually reflected. I never would have thought of that either, but come to think of it I suppose that makes sense since a lot of them are nocturnal, guess we just never see them big enough to realize it lol

First off, I love the reggae tunes, Mon. ✌️🏝️
That salt trick really is intriguing. Looking into that.

Oh geez! I'm glad you're okay! Luckily we don't have recluse spiders around here, that was a hobo spider, virtually harmless.. they usually leave you alone. and thank you so much! Have a great day ~Stephanie

Garden is looking great! You were trying cumin this year if I remember correctly? How is that going? I am very interested to see how that squash trellis works out. I have similar mildew problems. Around 9pm every night we get this dew or condensation on everything. Regardless of what the weather was like during the day, at that time of night everything is just wet, and it doesn't dry out till 9 or 10 in the morning depending on how sunny or shady an area is. Does that happen to you? Maybe it is just our proximity to the lake?
Thank you for tour and always taking the time to answer my questions.
Have a great day and God bless :)

Thank you so much! Yes we are trying to cumin this year, we are direct sowing it and they say not to sew it until minimum two weeks after the last frost date, so now is the time! All of our plants are soaked every morning as well, things start getting wet shortly after dusk and get worse in the morning, I'm trying really hard this year to make sure to only water along the base of the plants and things like that to reduce as much moisture as possible. And same here, the dew doesn't dry out until the suns been beating on it for an hour or two in the morning. So I'm also glad we were able to plant them where they get the earliest sun in the morning. And I don't mind at all, i enjoy talking with you! :) Have a great day and God bless ~Stephanie
