    Hi. Recently I have discovered that I have 13% of Nigerian blood in my DNA. I am very happy with this. Let me ask: in the future I intend to have my kids taught this language, but, how important in Africa is this language? In business or tourism area? In Brazil, my country, some of people say that here it is only spoken during "spiritual Service", according to Brazilian African Religion, named "camdomble and umbanda". I am Protestant, but I really respect this in my country. Thank you for you patience in answering me.

    • @DiamanteBox
      @DiamanteBox  4 роки тому +2

      It’s widely spoken for all things not just spiritualism

    Is Lucumi (Cuban Yoruba) different from Yoruba language in Nigeria? I have a book of Orisha Cantos ( as they sing them in Cuba) with English translations (title is Orin Orisa). From a canto for Shango: Mo je amala. (Translated: I eat yam porridge.) Mo je akuko. (Translated: I eat rooster.) Mo je ogede (Translated: I eat plantain.) ..............And from a Canto for Yemaya: Mo jeun akuko ki lo dara. Mo jeun elede, ajapa. (Translated: I eat rooster that is good. I eat pig and turtle.) Especially for the Yemaya Canto, you wouldn't say it quite like that in Yoruba of present-day Nigeria, would you?

      @Dominion Ogunjinrin I'd have translated turtle as ìjàpá. Do you have a better translation?

    • @tok1879
      @tok1879 4 роки тому

      @Dominion Ogunjinrin Well, since there's no other name, I'll say ìjàpá works just fine.🤷🏾‍♂️ I guess you could qualify it and say ìjàpá olómi.
