I love John Rutter. I put him and John Williams in the same parlor. Timeless, wondrous artists. Music that will stay with humans forever. I salute you both!
@@skinnypop4188 ah no, I’m playing this for a tkmea county orchestra for junior players. Just a bunch of us kids that are more advanced to finally GET advanced music. I made it into first violin… testing on 2:12 yeesh
This is sheer music.. On a slightly different note , I often wonder why the BBC doesn't have a radio station playing just British classical music. Surely there's a vast amount to play.
@paulpearce1161 -- I imagine that the BBC have focus-groups and algorithmic deep analysis....and determined that such a radio station would quickly bankrupt the company......Cheers from Acapulco!
Nowadays, our orchestra are preparing the first and second movement for a concert (wih few people by the covid). Of course slower than this. I play in the violin 1 group and some parts are very hard. Thank you for this audio. It helps so much.
It's always amused me how some "serious" composers and critics tend to sniff at Rutter. Why? Because he has an extraordinary gift for melody? In my decades of being a professional musician, I have yet to come across a Rutter piece that I haven't liked, and I've found that as much as audiences enjoy hearing it, the singers and musicians enjoy performing it as well. For anyone interested, look up his "Mass of the Children", especially the "Gloria". Great stuff.

They have, it’s called radio 3, a classical music station that plays a lot of British music.
Probably one of the most calming and beautiful 12 minutes on UA-cam. Thank you so much.

I’m in viola solo and I’m so glad cuz it’s such a pretty solo ❤
We are playing this song in my middle school... we just are a little slower A-Roving
Thank you ! very versatile composer, especially with Choral Music,
Wonderful, in the very best tradition of English folk-like string suites by the likes of Holst and Vaughan Williams. Thank you !
Nice to see you here too. I like your piano playing.
@@cinimod621 Oh thanks ! I see you reply only just now.
Lovely writing for string orchestra....I particularly like "I Have A Bonnet Trimmed With Blue" and "O Waly Waly".
03:20 "I have a bonnet trimmed with blue" is magical. I will call this feeling a Don Bluth kind of feeling.
Oh my god practicing this piece hurts my fingers

The first 2 movements really remind me of the soundtrack to a show called Violet Evergarden. It's very calming.
Thanks for up load this beautifull music.. .

Interesting to compare Rutter's A Rovin' with the same tune used in the third symphony, final movement from the recently released Holbrook album.
