Winter Walker trying to make up how dirty they did the ranger in this edition still revolving around the same 1st level spell that is taking your concentration
Homebrew fix for 2024 ranger that I like is to make hunters mark non-concentration and instead of costing a bonus action, have it apply (and do damage) when you hit with an attack, and choose to apply it. Like a physical/magical 'mark' on their flesh. Makes rangers (especially dual wielders) deal actual good damage then without concentration problem either, and can use other stuff like zephyr strike.
I'm curious about what they are doing for the Barbarian, Monk, Warlock, and Druid. I would like an updated version of the Storm Herald for the Barbarian with more options and storm types. I would love it they did a Xianxia-esque Sword Immortal class for the Monk. A Dragon Warlock might be fun. Also an Underdark Druid could be cool.
Rangers at different levels should gain spell options up to the players choice. Example: 1st lvl spell options: Ensnaring strike, zephyr strike, hail of thorns, hunter’s mark. Use the spell chosen without concentration a number of times equal to “….” Per long rest. 2nd: cordon of arrows, other spells 3rd: conjure barrage, lightning arrows, and so on up to 5th lvl.
Depends on how you view the rules and what your goals are. If you want a versatile and healthy mount the pdk is better and has better mount rules. It creates a very mobile fighter that can use lance and shield to topple and push people around while actually being able to fly 60ft at a time while mounted at lvl 7. The Drake Warden Drake is better at combat by itself while being supported by a ranged ranger. It never functions as a flying mount until lvl 15 at which point most campaigns end, and even then, other than shooting a bow from very high, the ranger doesn't really benefit from permanent flight very much. And the rules explicitly say it takes its turn after you instead of during, which makes it much worse for mounted combat
Ok I like the new changes and subclasses so far that’s good but the stat block for the dragon needs more but overall it looks good sorcerer rogue wizard stick out for me I’m liking this but we need a necromancy wizard subclass
Well, when you go blade singer your AC is now dexterity + intelligence so I'm pretty sure that goes higher than base light armor would anyways in most cases
@@imaginepigeons792 Mage armor makes your base ac become 13 plus dex, while bladesong gives you a bonus to ac equal to your intelligence, the two can be combined just like before. So you can simply use mage armor and bladesong to have more ac than light armor plus bladesong would have given you.

It hasn't been a problem with my ranger.
What do you mean? It's like the worst ranger. The subclass gives you a level 11 defensive feature LOL. There is no tier 3 scaling lmao
Bladesinger Wizard sounds like young Matt Mercer's dream come true
Always happy to see more Gish options.

It is a big out that we don't get new subclasses for them, but then again perhaps they are covered in the upcoming Eberron sourcebook!
I'm excited to see how this UA shakes out, and am almost thinking of running a short side game for my players to test these out.
This UA is easily the best group of subclasses we have seen in some time!

Love the new bard sub-class! Fey inspired?! Access to druid cantrips and moonbeam?! Yes!!!
I’m looking forward to the spellfire sorcerer. I read those books as a kid and always wanted to play that kind of character
The Genie Paladin gets access to "Conjure Minor Elementals", a very broken spell of melee classes. Get read for dual wielding Genie Paladins.
Despite their name, I don't hear a lot of blade related abilities for Bladesingers
Purple dragon knight outshining the ranger?

The sound quality was really inconsistent this time.

Ohhh nice they made purple dragon knight a lot better
It’s basically the Fighter version of the Drakewarden Ranger now
Good summary, please adjust your microphone/soundtrack properly!
How so? Which one was too loud? (Just so we know!)
@@TheCharacterSheet Around the ranger subclass
@@TheCharacterSheet It wasn't really the volume that bothered me, it was the different/ spiky sound quality and the perceived speech distance/ reverb.
So...they switch drakewarden to fighter...🤨
Who took away the bladesinger's light armor? You can only use bladesong for a couple of minutes a day anyway, why do we need to make it worse?
You can still use mage armor, and that is preferable since it basically lasts all day and gives you an extra point of ac compared to light armor.
