- Activities are core to managing relationships with clients. Naturally, businesses are going to want to categorize their activities so they can get feedback on what kinds of activities and how many of them are leading to desired business outcomes. This video will teach you how to set that up in Salesforce.
As someone who was suddenly converted to Salesforce Lightening, this video was incredibly helpful to add buttons for logging activity. Thank you!
So awesome. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You rock!
Actually this is really great. Superb explanation 👌
Wow - I've been trying to figure out how to do this ALL day. Great video - I was able to add my activity log as I watched. Incredibly helpful!. Thanks!
Awesome thanks very much. This has been bugging me for ages.
Excellent and informative 'how to' video. Thank you
Very informative video! Saved me quite a bit of custom dev work today, thank you!
This video was really helpful, thanks for sharing.
Thanks. This is exactly what I needed.
Vey helpful video. Thanks!
Thanks, very helpful!
Great video Mac! This might be one of the most useful videos I have come across that can actually provide some really good value using SF. Thanks for sharing! Do you have a video that goes over how to report on these new activities by chance?
Great Video!!
Thank you sir.
Super helpful. Would you recommend still keeping the standard "log a call" next to the new "log activity". Is that even something that can be removed- it seems redundant now.
This video is incredibly helpful! I am still running into a small issue though - as an admin, I can see the 'Log A Call' activity but unfortunately the rest of my Sales team cannot. We are on the same Sales App and page layout. Any ideas as to why they can't see it?
Mac, this was a great video - for some reason my Result and Channel are showing Sample Text not Sample Result and Sample Channel - so this is not showing up under Contacts, Leads, Accounts and Opportunities - not sure where I went wrong - watched and did everything exactly the way you did!
Hi Mac, awesome tutorial video but do you know if this is possible in SF classic? I haven't converted us to lightning yet, I've added the "log activity" field to both "SF Mobile & Lightning Experience Actions" AND "Quick Actions in SF Classic Publisher" but unfortunately the button isn't showing. Any ideas?
This is exactly what I needed, but our company doesn't have the licence to make custom fields... is there a workaround to catagorise calles whether they connected or not?
Hi Mac, one of my picklist items is showing up in classic but not in lightning, Any thoughts?
Nice one! Question please, how could specify a different default value for fields like "Status"?
How can I change the default subject to something else? I don't want it to be "call"
How does the "related to" field work vs having this Call Logging global action sidebar show up on the object's page. That is, you showed it on a Contact Layout page, and could also set the "related to" field to another object. Can this be set up on the layouts of other objects? (Account, Lead, Custom Objects)?
Is there a way to add a new "subject" in Log a Call?
Great video, how can add a field to insert a file as well?
I followed all the steps as you showed- created under activities customized fields that are saved under events. When I go to the events layout I can see them there, but when I go to global actions I can not see them there. Where can be the problem?
Hey mac, do you do consulting? I have some things I would like to run by you. How can we connect?
How can this show up in Lightning for Outlook?
@Mac - i am using a lightning page for my accounts and I do not get the log a call, new task button in the activity pane as you have it
what am i doing wrong
I have the same issue - did you ever find a resolution?
Hey, how can i create i list with all latest logged calles?
