Great video! Definitely subscribing! I believe vocal vst’s (exhale, glaze, arcade, etc) can be used in soundpack and compositions. What you can’t do is sell the exact sound by itself. That’s what those VST instruments are designed for.
Hey Man, somebody said Barry Gordy was looking for You, Motown is re-opening. Hey, is that Kamala Harris on the front of Your Hat? LMAOOOOO. Thanks for another Gem. I grabbed a bunch of albums from the 1960's and 70's from the thrift Store to study the Instrument Sounds and Arrangements. Thanks again you Nailed this one (as Usual).
Great work! Love your sounds and your way to do these vids! A Tip: U could play with voicing to add more range to the melody. Example: If u play a D u can Play F (or Fsharp) or an A on the Melo. And THEN : Alter the second note of the voicing. If u do this for Every tone u will be surprised I promise. No guarantee that u will like it but it is a nice way to enhance the Melo
Hey bro don't know if you saw that what's the guys name that's basically the face of omnisphere? But he was asked that specific question... And he made it absolutely clear that they will never come after you for royalties for using samples in omnisphere.... Which I thought was absolutely amazing!
So quick question, If you can use Arcade sounds to make a beat and then seel that beat, why can't you create an original sample and add arcade vocals and then sell that sample? I could see if you just selling that arcade sound without it being constructed to a beat. I'm gonna have to look into that. That just doesn't sound right.
@remidibeatz8780 ok now that's what I remember hearing. Scared me for a second because use some of this in sync licensing. I do not want to get into any trouble in that field.
@beataddict5475 Sync is a bit different, but my thought process is Arcade u can change the key, rearrange the chop and even play out the chops and flip it crazy with the effect keys. Hit-Boy openly used it in many songs and I never heard of any issues he had. I think they are a bit different than say Splice.
@remidibeatz8780 right that's why I stopped using splice and got Arcade because atleast from what I remember it's royalty free sounds. I usually create my own melody but use the distant voices for a bit more feeling.i do always change up the pitch and chop up tho so hopefully I never run into issues because I love using Arcade.
Hey@TheProducerLife you were saying something about we can get sued for 3rd party vocals so does that mean we can't use the ones on EastWest Backup singers like that or Duets for Kontakt or even Arcade?
i guess he meant that if you use vocals from original 70s samples or from not royalty free kits you can get sued Arcade is royalty free so you can use it
It sounds very good sonically, but still to repetitive too be authentic in terms of composition! When you listen to classic soul productions from the 1970s you will notice that they will not repeat the exact same chord progression two times in a row. At the very least they will play something differently like changing the last chord in the progression the second time around. It's never like a loop, but more like a constant change. The challenge for us HipHop producers is to get into that mindset of a composer and producer back when there was no such thing as "loop-based" music. Avoid repetition at any time. For example: if you have a 4 bars piano chord progression, you can loop it, but at least change a few things the second time around. That way you go from 4 bars to 8 unique bars. Now loop the 8 bars again, but change something again the the second time the 8 bars come around. So you will create a constantly evolving pieve of music! Also, in a classic soul composition, you won't have the same instruments playing the same phrases over and over again, but rather musicians interacting with one another. That's the mindset you need to adopt!
@@b-boycastertroy It seems you did not grasp the argument? It's not about hiphop or whaterver your personal philosophy to beatmaking is. I was commenting on authenticity! A soul sample is supposed to sound like it was taken straight from a 70s soul record. The way those records were produced and played by the session musicians you wouldn't end up with repetition. I was giving advice on how to get closer to authenticity by avoiding repetition. Very simple to understand, unless you have no clue about music production and soul music in particular!
@ he was over analyzing the content. In order to reach the authenticity he’s referencing, this “sample” would need a whole lot more than what was presented. That wasn’t even the intent of the video lol
Bro your video cuts are too tight. There's audio clipping in between them frequently. Not trying to criticise, just hoping to offer some constructive feedback 💚
Yes!!! I just watched some of your old videos yesterday for ideas now that I have my east west backup singers working. And now you’re back!! 🙌🏾

You are too old school in your thinking. You can do whatever you feel and that's Hip-hop. Stop boxing in production.
@@b-boycastertroy It seems you did not grasp the argument?

@ikehayes9252 The idea was to make it sound like it CAME FROM a sample. He wasn’t making a fully composed song…
@ikehayes9252 OK I see what you are saying. I thought you were just those annoying people who go spastic over a looped sample. My bad ✌️
@ he was over analyzing the content. In order to reach the authenticity he’s referencing, this “sample” would need a whole lot more than what was presented. That wasn’t even the intent of the video lol
