- This is a 1:6 sport scale R/C Beetle purchased circa 1998/2000. (Please note that the purchase date in the video was corrected due to feedback of a viewer, which I appreciate.) The car is 25" long and operates on a 7.2v Nimh rechargeable battery. It has a dedicated transmitter and is single speed. To go less than it's full speed the throttle is simply pulsed. The detailing is tremendous with a simulated engine and complete interior. Music: Royalty Free Album, Solo 2, Track 55, Piano Solo No. 7

Actually, the car has three speeds forward and three reverse. Notice thethree LED lights on the shelf shelf behind the rear seat. When you use the remote to "rev" the engine, lights indicate the speed setting. I recommend the slowest setting, red, until you are practiced at driving,
I have the same thing but mine is yellow with matching vw new bug stickers...... And its not a rev it has 3 speeds you can see the green light in the pick in the first 3 sec of the video it goies red yellow green yellow red os bow it will cycle whem you change your speed

My friend is giving me the same Volkeswagon car, but the battery is missing. Can you tell me the specs on the battery?
HI Eric. See my previous comment about changing the battery. I did that when it was new. No big or costly deal.
It was to Matel Bubuoloc who wanted to replace the battery.

i hav a volkswagan beetel but the batery and radio control is missing. can you tell me where i can buying this ( a online market specialized )
l converted mine years ago to a standard RC Nicad car battery. Soldered on a different plug. That's al it took. I'd recommend going to a local hobby shop. They'll help you deal easily with the battery change. And of course you'll need a charger for the different battery. It's no big deal really. Don't buy a limo battery because then you'll have to add a specialized speed control so you don't kill the battery, etc. And i shouldn't cost you to much either.

HI James. Do you have this car? Interesting that in all of the times we've run it, it only went at one speed and the lights indicated battery condition - we thought. But we will give it a try to see if we can get it to go faster. Seems to go quite fast as it has been all of these years. Never know. Always something new to discover. Thanks for your comment.
