Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM ii Review - Is it better ? | Real World Test on A7siii

  • I love prime lenses because generally, they are light, fast, sharp and easy to work with. I don't normally use a zoom lens for my shooting style but I will pick a zoom lens when the project requires speed and versatility over image quality.
I guess that’s a few reasons people pick a zoom lens over a prime lens. But the brand new sony 24-70mm F2.8 mii might change your mind.
If You know me, I will pick a real-world test anytime compared to a lab test when I got a new lens. Today I'm going to test out this lens and see it looks in a practical world.

that sony afc is on another level for sure. it seems the upgrade really is for video. the 11blades aperture will make rounded soft bokehs at every f stops :)) in ff a lot of the time we shoot at f8 when outside as you want to show the location too not just blurry bg to show where ur actor is at ;)

Well, the image quality differences between GM I and GM II aren't mind-blowing. The only difference I notice is that it is sharper on the GM II but only if you look very closely!

    Dear Sir
    .
May I know whether you can use DJI Ronin's Zoom Control directly to SONY camera to control 24-70mm F2.8 lens?
    .
    Thanks, and best regards

Save money - Go with MK1 - Difference is not even noticeable let alone worth the price hike. :)

      The weight, however, is.

@@Tugela60 The weight? Something only a weakling would say. It's a lens not a dumbbell.

    • @Tugela60
      @Tugela60 Рік тому +1

@CRAIG That is something only a hack would say. If the size of a lens interferes with the fluidity of your work then it is a bad lens, no matter what the IQ is like, since that will directly result in a lower quality of your output. An ideal lens does NOT get in the way, you want it to allmost not be there. You should be completely unaware of its presence. If you are aware of its presence, due to its size, I would suggest you have that lens for reasons that have nothing to do with photography.
There are some who like large pieces of gear, presumably to make up for shortcomings in other areas. Basically, for them a camera is a jewelry item.

@@Tugela60 Get a few sessions of the gym booked in and work on the dumbbells for a bit, you'll soon find that those extra couple off grams become easy for you and don't mess with the 'fluidity of your work', it will also 'make up for your short comings in other areas.'
      Sincerely,
      Hack
