Hello, I hope to do a several day trip upcoming. A couple of quick overnighters and then I'll be taking this out. Should be interesting and maybe humorous. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Very clever use of coolers for equipment that shouldn't get wet or scratched! Smart stuff. Looking forward to seeing how your Shorelander adventure goes.

    Chris,
You're always covering the stuff I'm thinking about doing! Kind of just putting a list together of the things I want to buy. Your links are very helpful! I'm working on finishing upgrading to two 12 gal tanks on my 26x, but it has just been so hot in Biloxi. Finished one side so far. I launched my boat from lake mars in the ocean springs area. I was able to make it to horn island and back with just under 6 gallons in the sailing configuration. I was very surprised. Being new to sailing I just used the main for a little while, but there wasn't much wind. My mast seems to be very heavy, but I believe it has to do with the jib and furling system. Running 4k RPM with a 60 hp 4 stroke yamaha the boat was not hitting 9 knots and it wasn't very rough. I had 2 other people on the boat and the ballast tank was filled. Are you getting 9 knots with the ballast empty or full? My RPM and speed come through my garmin only so I am not completely confident that it is accurate. I am just curious if the ballast and/or extra weight from sailing equipment is dragging my speed down. The fuel economy on that trip was really good, even if I was running alot slower at 4k rpm. I am starting to think summer is for taking the mast off, and the rest of the year is for using it while putting the boat in a slip for a few days at a time.

Hello Joe! Sounds like a cool setup you have going. I always run with the ballast empty, but then I seldom have a mast onboard. I think it would have a definite impact on speed, about 1,500 lbs when full. I bet that 60 would take you faster, wish I had a 60 four stroke. Your gonna have a lot of fun. The weather is gonna get cooler soon and the boating will be great! Thanks for watching!

    Hi Chris.
I hope you're doing well. I’m currently deciding between the Bris 12" and the Saturn 12" FB365 heavy-duty fishing boat with an airdeck. Since you own both, I’d really appreciate your opinion on which one you think is better. What would you suggest?
For context, I currently have a 9.8 4-stroke Tohatsu outboard and won’t be upgrading it soon due to weight considerations.
    Thank you!

Hello! First, I would say the engine should be great for any 12' boat. I would really pay attention to the tube size. The larger tubes do give a more substantial feel to the boat. I think the Bris is larger. If you plan to install the floor every time you use the boat, without question I would say go with an air floor. I leave the Al floor in my Bris all the time and keep it on a trailer - mainly because the floor is a pain to remove and install.. The FB365 can be easily moved, deflated, carried in a SUV. The hard floor is nice however and if you trailer and leave it set up - cool. You just have to consider if the larger tubes and substatial feel of the AL floor boat is better than the ease of the air floor. Good Luck, Your gonna have fun either way,. Thanks for watching!
