To everyone saying the lyrics are trash, please rethink that. The lyrics are simple and straightforward and they're like that for a reason. They made a song about the terrible things we do to get us through the even more terrible times. Embellishing it with fancy words and literary techniques would have just been distracting from a message that's already clear. This song is so relatable and it's the lyrics that make you feel it more than the tune. Try looking at the lyrics without the song playing
“the simplest lines have the most complex meanings” and don’t get me started love i’ve had too much to drink is all i need to hear to know that this shit is good 😩
***** where are you from? curious, cause i've been listening to them since jam in the van posted their bonnaroo video and still noone knows about them out here in FLA
Had the Great Pleasure of meeting these Guys a few days ago and was sooo very impressed by them and their Music......Sending all my Love to them and wishing Them MUCH success ....
An absolute timeless jam. Whenever I hear it it brings me right back to when I first met my wife. It just brings me immediately to a beautiful time in my life. I love cherub
I heard this on the radio this weekend (not a hipster ass College radio station either) I was like wtf?! I guess there about to blow up! Can't wait to see cherub this summer.
i heard that many people believe this song endorses an unhealthy and even dangerous lifestyle, but it's all perspective... i believe it's a little more complex than that, and that the drugs and other socially-deemed inappropriate behavior(s) that are mentioned in the song are really implemented as psychological defense mechanisms (perhaps "poor" coping strategies, i might admit) for avoiding the consequences of feeling feelings. in this way, i feel the song is deceivingly shallow (after all many listeners think it's about drugs, sex, and other crude subjects), but, personally, i think it's actually deeply poetic due to the creativity in how the symbols and their meanings are antithetically portrayed
that blew my mind... I think about the same shit when I'm listening to certain songs. they are to genius for most people to understand.. than again, I'm no better than the guys in the video, since I smoke weed everyday as a way to make me feel better due to the overload of stress a d depression in my life. makes life bearable without really messing me up, keeps me from ending everything most days. some people just don't know how to cope with life. we weren't prepared for it softer all.
+Anthony Snow We've all got our own unique ways to cope. Some mechanisms of coping are less damaging than others, and some methods are even productive (though, again, it's all perspective). Anecdotally speaking, I found that decreasing my marijuana consumption led to a more positive general mood (after adjusting of course), so I would recommend a decrease in marijuana use from a chronic schedule to a more occasional pattern (if you can't completely abstain). I say this because marijuana can be associated with increased anxiety, depression, paranoia, etc (not in all cases of course, but perhaps your own?). And, as this music video implies, doing drugs can be a shallow, unsustainable way of addressing deeply-seeded feelings. But as long as your solution to dealing with stress works for you and doesn't impact other important aspects of your life (personal, social, financial, perhaps religious/spiritual, etc), then that's all that really matters in this subjective world. All the best to you and all of us too.
Shuttup, the best you have most likely have heard were done with substances. Enjoy the music and realize that everyone has their own preference for enjoying music. Plain and simple :)
If you were to open a dictionary owned by every great band that played in the 60s-80s and went to find the definition of "Great music", the UA-cam link to this song would appear next to it.
If people actually listened to the lyrics they'd realize the song is actually about all the shitty relationships he's had with his past girl friends, how the use of drugs and alcohol are used all too often to deal with problems in the short term rather than face them. People who don't understand this have just gotten so accustomed to meaningless music and taking the videos in a literal sense
Yes there are people who take things way to literally... But in this case it looks and sounds like a duck ya know? Everything here points to it being ur typical carpe diem song which is not necessarily a bad thing.
nikki wasson because it's a breaking bad reference. if you haven't seen the show, i will not patronize you for it, but at the same time I would recommend watching it. The show is brilliant with fantastic writing. However, if you feel differently I totally understand. :P
I first heard this song when my gay bestie and i took a ton of mushrooms and were in this riverbed in southern Alaska and it didn't get dark all night. Was beautiful
JASON YOU DESERVE THIS DOO! Both of these guys are so genuine and nice in person. I went to college with these goofy guys, they are some of the most fun and down to earth people i've ever met. Much love you two!
I mixed uppers and downers once when i was young and naive. Popped a bunch of vicodin and adderall while drinking some shitty Four Loko. The next morning my limbs started to go numb and I started tripping out hardcore. I didn't go to the doctor but I ended up being constipated for a week. I took those pills that make you shit and it didn't do anything. The pain of having to shit but couldn't literally made me cry multiple times. Yeah.. I don't recommend it
Best song I've heard in a long ass time. Great band! I would recommend buying their albums. They make great love making music. Turn on some of their songs and no girl can resist

that's what makes it rad. Real connection.
Don't get me started love
I've had too much to drink
Had too much time to think
So leave me alone
Crying when you're by yourself
Cause of what they think
About you
Makes time go slow slow slow
Makes time go slow slow slow
Slow
Something's gotta give soon
Or I'm gonna lose it
Substance abusing
And never come down
Fall off the deep end
And forget my English
What's the point of language
If you don't say what you feel
So with that being said
[Hook:]
To all the bitch ass hoes that hate me the most
Oh yeah, I hate you too
To all the punk ass fucks that just want to talk shit
I hate you too
To all the high class ass that's too hard to pass
Oh yeah, I hate you too
Doses and Mimosas
Champagne and cocaine
Help to get me through
Ten in the morning
And I'm skipping breakfast
And drinking a beverage
To ignore it all
Guess ignorance is bliss and
I've come to embrace it
It's all overrated
Except drugs and alcohol
So with that being said
The best and timely song.
