The hair was a tribute to Elvis's wife Priscilla Presley ! The guitar and leather outfit was a tribute to Elvis ! The children were her cousins and sister ! Angelina is a storyteller first and foremost ! This is one of her greatest strengths in that she is able to give true meaning to the lyrics and relate them directly to her audience ! Her takes on the song are her own arrangements and she is so good at putting a totally different twist on the song ! I want to thank you so much for your continued support of our barefoot princess ! It is so much appreciated ! Angelina will release her debut album this year and she is being introduced at many international functions to display her talents ! Just performed at the FIFA world awards show in Paris that has an audience of over 300 millions viewers ! Just getting the exposure to break out on the world music stage this year ! Thanks again and keep posting ! Sending much thanks and love from Canada ! 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️
Great reaction! Two days ago Angelina preformed at the FIFA awards ceremony in Paris France. It was viewed by 300 million people worldwide. She sang We Are The Best. You should check it out!
I agree completely with your comments. She really is a very special artist. Actually her hairstyle was a tribute to Priscilla Presley The youngest two girls are her cousins the other one is her sister. They were representing Angelina through the years.
IMO Angelina sings the song with the proper emotion. I think Elvis sang it with Priscilla's suspicion as a frustration to him by the tempo he performed it in. Angelina sings it more in the way Mark James intended.
Love your Angelina reactions. I’d delve into all of your questions, but living in Alaska most of the world beats me to these videos. I know our fellow Angels will answer every one. Thank you for this video produced by Angelina’s Grandmother, with AJ just 16 years old last June when this was done.
Great reaction and she lets the song be what it was meant to be. The beehive hairdo was a tribute to Precilla Presley and the 2 little girls were her cousins and the older girl is her sister Juliette. The were representing her music journey from 1-1/2 years old up until this song at age 16, God Bless!
… ELVIS and ANGELINA... my absolute favourites!! Angelina is already the greatest singer for me... Elvis anyway! … I can't even describe how incredibly good these two are!! … What a great tribute to the King! Elvis would be honored. ✨💎✨ 🕺🏻🎸🕯Thank you
Thanks Jennifer. The hair was a nod to Priscilla Presley, the leather suit and red Elvis 68 comeback tour guitar was a nod to Elvis, even the red jumpsuit Pianist Rob Christie was wearing a nod to Elvis's band members. Angelina's Class and eloquence leaves not stone unturned in her tribute to the King. You can watch 200 of her videos and never see any frills, dancers, sexual clothing, auto tune, or any of that nonsense most "singers" seem to need to make them stand out, she simply let's her unmatched vocals entertain you. She is a very rare Gem in the mundane music industry has no need to distract you with theatrics. Cheers, stay well Jennifer.
Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve. I have a number of pictures of celebrities whose height is known, for example, Austin Butler, who played Elvis, is 6ft tall, and AJ published a picture of her standing next to him, she was at least 1 inch taller than him, and she had to look down at him.
Angelina arranges all her all music she’s in charge of herself how she wants it done what she wants to know how she wanted it so she reaches everything yourself
Yes Angelina is all about Class, Humility, Creativity , and a ultimate respect for the songs she performs. She is never about trying to show case her vocal ability's . She uses her her vocal talents to uplift the song, not her vocal technical expertise, This makes her stand out among 99% of the vocalist we hear. Angeline has made a very special niche for her self in the music world.
Angelina actually can play violin flute and piano as well as guitar 🎸 and apparently speaks 4 languages fluently, just a all round amazing talented artist!
The common understanding is that little girls wandering among old beautiful things present Angelina wandering and finding her place in old beautiful songs. Here are all her originals (and some other stuff). "What is life" ua-cam.com/video/Bv0r77KN7RA/v-deo.html (she is 12); Oslo - (a nostalgic song) ua-cam.com/video/R2HkKh_Cp8I/v-deo.html (she is about 12); "Shield" ua-cam.com/video/lQtUbVKb0vs/v-deo.html (also age 12) (I guess you may like to see the interview she did before singing that song - ua-cam.com/video/97hjWg4ToRQ/v-deo.html (first 50 seconds are samples of her songs and then the interview begins in Norwegian (with subtitles) then they switch to speak English)); "Million Miles" ua-cam.com/video/XA1_CUaM52I/v-deo.html (this is an official music video) (age 14 she wrote it after the death of her grandfather) there is also version live in-studio ua-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/v-deo.html, and Lyrics video with the art made by her grandmother ua-cam.com/video/NhKRh5ZtuWk/v-deo.html; "7th heaven" ua-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/v-deo.html (age 15) (she is 17 now). Also, she completely rewrote the lyrics for "Back to Black" (they were not age-appropriate she was 10 you can google the Lyrics to compare with Amys) ua-cam.com/video/ICY1uJe15cM/v-deo.html; (here is how she spent that day before recording the song ua-cam.com/video/3XXFu_V8Lcs/v-deo.html) and for "Rehab"
PS. Check the videos of the 4 concerts she held in Norway last summer. I suggest the 3rd one she did in Kongsberg on july 7th where you'll hear 2 of her originals: 7th Heaven and Million Miles. As Wonderful as she is in the videos to see her live is something else alltogether. Pure MAGIC. I know. I was there. I got lucky and managed to get her autograph.
You made a very good observation after only a few songs by Angelina. Her vocals fit the style and the emotion of the lyrics. She has more in her vocal toolkit than any singer I’ve ever heard, but she never uses them just to show what she can do. Her interpretation of lyrics is as beautiful and authentic as her vocal abilities. Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. No qualifications.
Between Suspicious Minds and Bohemian Rhapsody...she sang them in tones more appropriate to the lyrics. Maybe if Elvis had said it to Priscilla in the tones Angelina uses. Compare Freddy Mercury's bright and uplifting tones for dark and foreboding lyrics to Angelina's take in a more literal direction. Make sense?
@@JenniferTakes Makes perfect sense. Angelina is just an amazing interpreter of lyrics. As great as Adele is, watch what Angelina does when covering her songs. If you know Adele’s song, A Million Years Ago, watch Angelina at 12, with just an acoustic guitar backing her take that song to an incredible level that you don’t get with Adele. Angelina can just melt you with melancholy themes. Her cover is just extraordinary. ua-cam.com/video/QHLtZQ3sIwE/v-deo.html
Absolutely phenomenal performance from our musical genius, the first two little girls in the Video are Angelina’s cousins her managers children, the eldest girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette, production input from Angelina’s Grandma who is talented Iranian artist, pianist is Rob Christie two time’s Grammy winner and the musical director of Republic Records who Angelina signed with at the age of 14 years old, Angelina is paying tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and her red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, Cover of a Cover as the original artist Mark James who wrote and recorded Suspicious Minds didn’t achieve with his version, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, great reaction thanks 🙏
No no, she does the acrobatics. An insane amount. The differences are how crazy often it feels right, feels like art, instead of like a flex. Even here, one of her more subdued and monotone performances. Actually packs a lot in for a few seconds here or there. But smooth transitions and artistic instincts I suppose make it feel simple even in those parts.
Jennifer, this video was a family affair, with her Grandmother Mery Zamani as Ex-Producer, her Uncle Mike's two daughters, and her sister Juliette as the young girl growing up. The symbolism from the dust flying off the piano representing the past, Elvis's Black jumpsuit, and the red guitar he played during his come-back tour in 1968, to Priscilla Presley's hairdo was pure genius in storytelling. Most of all, Angelina sang in a deeper mature voice, drawing you into "Suspicious Minds," told through Priscilla's perspective during their troubled marriage, slowing down the song's tempo and allowing the lyrics to tell the story. Angelina Jordan has developed a style of singing that sets the mood of all her songs. She is a pure Artist!
When you have a voice like that it does not need drowning in backing. If you want original try her tribute to loss, "A Million Miles Apart". The black and white version with just piano and cello is the best. Have a hanky to hand.
I love the slower tempo of this. I also loved how she started the song with the ending verse first. Reminds me of a quote from T.S. Eliot: “What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.” This girl is genius. The guitar, black jumpsuit, and microphone are similar to the ones the “King” had on his comeback tour.
Indeed, returning to where we started and discovering it for the first time. So true in life. Angelina returns to where the great music of today began and we are hearing it for the first time even if we have known the music for years.
This beautiful young lady is all about family and love. Those three younger girls are her two nieces and her lovely younger sister Juliette, and, surprise, they all adore each other. Before I get carried away trying to express how special I think Angelina and her family are, I'll just say please continue on with her and enjoy the show...but bring some tissues. She goes right for the heart.
Hi Jennifer, great reaction to a fairly recent video from Angelina, demonstration of great sensitivity in the arrangement, wonderful vocal quality and fantastic lyric narration...Amazing 16 years!!!Just yesterday she was hired by the World Football Federation to perform the new theme song, a simple song but which has allowed him a visibility of over 300 million people ... splendid, Thanks again from Italy .. Massimo🤩
Beautiful reaction, Jennifer. I love her version of the song. Every time she interprets a song by stripping it in her own way, she seems to simultaneously increase the level of understanding of the lyrics and amplify their expressive power. Angelina's musical vision transcends the ordinary and she always manages to give a different interpretative reading, she really has a musical knowledge and analytical ability that is beyond my understanding, also considering her age. Her phrasing, underpinned by her wonderful use of breath and her jazzy vision, always fascinates me and gives me chills every time, despite having listened to it hundreds of times. 💛🧡❤
Yes, a nod to the late, great Amy Winehouse, BUT… Angelina knows that Amy’s hairdo was a nod the wife of the late, great Elvis Presley. Priscilla actually made the hairstyle popular in the early 1960’s and I’m pretty sure that this is what Angelina was referencing. Nice reaction. I look forward to more. ☺️
Interesting that AJ covers Amy 's Back to black ,which she rewrote the lyrics to because her mother wouldn't let her sing them as written also she covered Valerie and she sang it again this past summer at her concerts ,you will find that if the singer is not great, Angelina doesn't cover them ,which just speaks of her belief in her on talent enjoyed your reaction
What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.
The first two little girls were the daughters of her Manager/Uncle, Michael Astar. The older third little girl was her sister Juliette. Some people think that segment, with the little girls, represents the early history of Angelina's performing life. To me it could also be a representation of what she is singing, at the time, about how she can't walk out because she loves them too much (ie. can't leave for the sake of the children). Angelina is a very good piano player and is also getting good on the guitar, as displayed in her many Instagram short songs.
She did a tribute to lisa Marie Presley after she died that’s priceless. Can’t help falling in love. She plays the piano in We The Best written for her by Red One and performed at FIFA awards this week. It’s a bit EDM. Her best work is probably her original Million Miles live in Norway this summer.😂 for anothe Elvis watch her tribute to Lisa Marie of can’t help falling in love from last month.
👍👍👍 A handful of songs she has done I don't really care for, but she nevertheless did outstanding on all of them. In this one, she is in an antique shop, full of relics of the past, a subtle reference to the songs that she has grown up (the little girls) listening to and appreciating, and performing. The black leather outfit reminicent of Elvis "68 Vegas tour, as well as the red guitar, and the pianist's (Rob Christie) red jumpsuit. The Hair style of Pricilla Presley. And of course the bare feet had their moment as well.
💥 Angelina has over 150 covers which has been reacted by everyday people that love music, vocal coaches, vocal teachers & experts. Her originals are outstanding - LOVE DON’T LET ME GO - 7th HEAVEN - MILLION MILES💥
There's so so much for you to experience from her!! Also her hair pays homage to Priscilla Presley who she knows personally, recently their daughter passed away and she did a short tribute to her.
Angelina wrote (released) : 1. What is life 2. Oslo 3. Shield 4. Million Miles 5. 7th Heaven for Angelina was written: Song for A by Nico Cartosio, Above the Water by the producer duo TRXD According to Angelina's own statement, she has already written many songs and will appear on her album soon. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣

@@albertphilippi4371 I have not compared. How significant is the change to ‘Rehab’? I believe ‘Back To Black’ (Love) has only three words (I love you) from the original lyrics.
Angelina is amazingly creative; she manages to breathe new life into a classic, maintaining the integrity of the original... Her emotion is top tier, she sings the lyrics as a "plea"and the angst is almost palpable,,( hair actually made popular by Priscilla). You're spot on, Angelina's talent is singing beautifully with just the right choice of vocal ornaments.. a PERFECT example of producing a captivating rendition without having to belt your way through it. Enjoyed your reaction very much, for a Jazz Club feel using only drums, stand up bass, piano/guitar (played by same person) and a backup singer, AJ complete with white gloves, the Studio Version of her original song, "7th Heaven" will surprise you. Again, really good reaction! PEACE 🔥🎶🎙️🎼🎹🎧🎵🎹🎤🎶🎶🔥🔥
Angelina plays guitar and piano, and rumor has it flute and violin also. She also draws the story boards for her videos and had made some of the clothes she wears on stage. So yes, she is highly creative.
I started watching Anthony and Jordan when I was there she was 1 1/2 singing jazz. She came to America, saying Jackson went to the White House saying she wanted to view the same except other TV shows.
This is a tribute to Elvis from the black leather to the red guitar Elvis used on his 1968 comeback tour, the song it self he charted in 1969, the Percilla beehive hair do, the blue suede shoes on the couch, and the three little girls representing Lisa Marie growing up in Graceland (the setting) grandma Mery produced the video and Rob Christy on the piano (He also owns the red guitar) she is 16 here, the 2 youngest girls are her cousins, her uncle/managers kids and the older girl is AJs 11 year old sister Juliette,,
As for Angelina's originals, there are only a few, but the best, in my opinion, is either "Shield" released before she signed with Republic Records, and "Million Miles" which was her first after signing. "Oslo" is also good and in a very different style than anything else she's done.
She plays the piano, guitar, violin, and flute. The hair was a node to Pricilla Presley. Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 83 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - ua-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/v-deo.html 🙂
I couldn't agree more! Angelina never over-sings a song. I've even taken to calling it the "Mariah Carey Effect". Too many embellishments can actually detract from a song. I've heard Mariah sing a song such that I couldn't even begin to tell you what the melody line was. It was in there amongst all the other notes she sang around them, but I couldn't find it if I tried. Fact is, Mariah has a beautiful voice, almost inhuman range, and great control, so there's no real need to do it. But, hey, argue with success, I guess! Mariah is also one of the best selling female singers of all time, so.... Angelina can do such melismas and runs in her sleep, but she is very judicious and artistic in the way she places them in songs such that it is the enhancement that it could or should be, but never more than that. I really do prefer Angelina's version of this song over the arrangement that was done for Elvis, but that's just me. I'm really liking your reactions to the "Barefoot Princess", so I'm now a subscriber! I hope you and yours are doing well, and all of us "angels", as Angelina calls us, wish you the very best!
This video came out in the spring of 2022 when MGM released the movie ELVIS. Hers is a tribute to both the King( leather outfit and guitar) and Priscilla who first wore that particular hairdo later copied by Amy. She turned 17 last january 10th 2023. She plays piano, guitar, violin and flute. Bye.😍
Great reaction Jennifer. Angie was 16 here, The hair was a nod to Elvis's wife Priscilla. Angie has alot of Easter eggs to Elvis and family in this video. She has done that a few times. Angie plays 5he piano, classic guitar, electric guitar and used to also play flute and violin too, not sure if she still does the last 2 anymore. You might react to here cover version of "How great thou art", sings it in the same key Elvis did and she was only 12 at the time. 🙂👍❤ (Try reacting to) Angie song she wrote "Shield". She was 11 when she wrote it. You'll see her at 12 performing it for TV2. Also remember that Angelina never sings a song the same way twice, so you could say they’ll all be 1st time reactions. ❤👍
Angelina's taste and restraint are unmatched. I think the hair is a nod to Priscilla Presley. I think you'd love her original 7th Heaven. Great reaction, Jennifer!
Perhaps AJ's first released original "What Is Life (acoustic)", a fave of many of us 🌹. Thank you for sharing your first time reactions to our Barefoot Princess look forward to more. cheers🍻
I like Angelina a lot, she's a spectacular singer, a unique voice. Your analysis of this performance was the best I've seen, thank you. embrace of a Brazilian spectator.
Thank you for another excellent resection to Angelina. She has owned me since her first performance as a 7-year-old. Angelina has written five songs and had two written for her voice. Here are links to them: age 12 - What is life: ua-cam.com/video/Bv0r77KN7RA/v-deo.html 2/6/18 - how an eleven-year-old puts into words the things which are important to her. Profound thoughts in simple words. age 12 - Oslo - ua-cam.com/video/dd8r7c-4-ks/v-deo.html 12/7/18 - written of her love for Oslo, the city of her birth, whilst she was en route from Los Angeles to Oslo. age 12 - Shield - ua-cam.com/video/XVtUZWHmY8Y/v-deo.html 10/8/18 - Angelina's acknowledgement of the support and love her family have always given to her, in order that she pursue her dream of singing for the world. age 14 - Million miles (Live in Studio): ua-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/v-deo.html 19/12/20 - written as a tribute to her maternal grandfather in 2019, with the wish that the song would bring comfort to all other people who had suffered the death of a loved one. age 15 - 7th Heaven (Studio performance): ua-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/v-deo.html 9/4/21 - an up beat song in a style Angelina calls Jazz/Pop. Written for her voice age 13 - Song for A - ua-cam.com/video/Bo3mhxPM-uA/v-deo.html 20/7/19 - written by Russian classical composer Nico Cartosio as the only song for voice in his instrumental piece Melting. It is based on a 1783 poem by the Scottish poet Robert Burns. age 13 - Above the water - ua-cam.com/video/rpdHJJQAd9Y/v-deo.html 30/1/20 - written by TRXD (Truis Drystad and David Atarrodiyan). It has an EDM genre beat I am delighted that you knew the song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, and that he recorded it the year it was written. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
Thank you for your reaction, much appreciated. Since the question was asked I would like to offer my take on the video story line. AJ was introduced to "jazz" by her grandmother at age 18 months. AJ listened to the "old jazz greats", learned their style then delivered old songs in similar style (some fans gave her the nickname "Princess with a thousand voices"). Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday is a great example. I too had difficulty relating the video story line to the song and eventually came to this conclusion: the song lyrics are not intended to relate. The action in the video is AJ's progression from a very young child to her current age. Story line as follows: AJ walks into the antique store as a young lady and uncovers an old piano which "sets the stage. The antiques represent old songs from the 40, 50, and 60's along with the artists she resurrects. The images of the children in sequential age represents AJ , 1) as she discovers antique songs in wonderment, 2) then appreciation with the smiling face, then 3) an older AJ "taking posession" comfortably sitting on the antique day bed. It is my opinion, this creative touch is an acknowledgement or portrayal of AJ's musical development. Let us remember both AJ and her grandmother are/ were creative child prodigies. AJ for voice, composition, delivery. Her grandmother for art and poetry (when you see artwork behind AJ, its her grandmothers) AJ is also artistically inclined so seeing kind of mix in the videos the little extra touch that sets AJ apart.Thank you and best regards
She is for me the best female singer in this time. Amy Winehouse. was a Great Singer. This song is the best song I‘ve heard from her,it touched my soul and my heart the most ,so I‘m an absolute Angelina Fan (Angel) 😇She touches my heart and my soul with every songs she sings I‘m 66 years old and have been listening to music for 50 years and I am music expert ! @@JenniferTakes Hi Jennifer yes that would be great ! the two fantastic and magical and unique Voices that would be divine.Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 Love ❤️ and Peace🙏🌎
Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani is the executive producer of the performance. Two time Grammy award winner, Pianist, Rob Christie wrote the musical arrangement and Angelina created the vocal arrangement.
Love your reactions. Since you're an artist, look into Mery Zamani, Angelina's grandma. She is a well known Iranian artist, a child prodigy in her own right. Looking forward to your reactions to her originals, and check out her live concert videos, especially Kurbadhagen on 10 July 2022. She absolutely blossoms in front of a live audience.
In many of Angelina's covers, she will pay tribute to the artists of the songs she covers. In this one, she is extending homage to Elvis. She also does her arrangements or, at least, has very much input into the way her music is done. In this case, she departed from Elvis by slowing the tune down and singing it in a way the lyrics actually ask for. Elvis covered it like the original, a virtual pop "dance" tune, although the lyrics are a sad, emotional and heartbreaking tale of an impending breakup and lost love. Angelina sings the song as it should be performed. This was Elvis's last number one song. In this video she is dressed as Elvis was in his " '68 Comeback Special" TV program. Leather from top to bottom. Her hair is done up in a "bee hive" style that Elvis liked his wife Pricilla to wear. The red guitar is a contemporary Hagstrom reproduction of a 1967 Viking II. Elvis had borrowed it from Al Casey, one of the session musicians of the Comeback Special band. The original guitar recently sold at auction for over $660,000. The piano and mic are like the ones in the Sun studio in Memphis, where Elvis started his recording career. The piano player is Rob Christie, a studio exec at her label, Republic Records. The young girl(s), Angelina's relatives, are a nod to Elvis's and Pricilla's kid, Lisa Marie, may God love her soul. The last segment of the children shows Angelina's sister, Juliette, as a 9 year old Lisa Marie. That was how old Lisa was when her dad died. Many reactors guess that the children in this video denotes Angelina growing up, but all the symbolisms is about Elvis and not Angelina. There is a short segment of Angelina reposing on a couch. She is wearing what look like mismatched shoes. One is blue suede, yes? Many of the antique shop artifacts, particularly the old red fabric chair in the background seem "fit for a king". The artistic production may have been by her executive producer and grandmom, Mery Zamani. Mery is a well known artist from Iran who had her hand in other Angelina artwork, including the outfit Angelina wore on "AGT the Champions" show, and the artwork on Angelina's first original Republic video "Million Miles - lyrics version". With a little help from her friends (and family), Angelina is leaving a profound legacy in the world of music and art. She is "ASTAR", literally and figuratively.
Thank UUU Ms. Jennifer, Our UA-cam Music Host... Watching Ms. Angelina Jordan Perform and hearing Her Magical Voice is like watching an Eagle in Flight. Soaring high above us all... Just Emotionally Amazing!!! "A True Music Super Star / Blooming Human Rose Here!!!" God Bless / Smiles DD.
The producer was Angelina's grandmother. The girls are also her grandchildren, the oldest Angelina's sister. Symbolism aside, I think Gram wanted all the kids involved!
Thanks a lot for a very beautiful reaction to Angelina again. I appreciate it 🙂 Since this is comment number 99 so far, I guess you've been informed about most of the takeaways from this performance already. That is an upside of being late to the party sometimes I guess...🤣 The speeches are all done and you don't have to wait for everybody else to rise if you want some more food. Wow, that was a very weird comment. Even by my own standard. Anyhoot, Jennifer, I'm looking very much forward to your next reaction to our barefoot Princess, or the soul whisperess as I like to call her 🙂 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

New subscriber - thanks to your great reaction to & appreciation of another masterful reinterpretation & performance by Angelina - this time of an Elvis hit song. Definitely a family production - the Executive Producer Mery Zamani is Angelina's grandmother, the 2 younger girls are her cousins & the older girl is her younger sister Juliette. Also this is a great tribute to Elvis - Angelina's beehive hairdo is reminiscent of Priscilla Presley & the black leather jumpsuit & red Hagstrom guitar are just like Elvis used in his "Comeback Tour". You mentioned Amy Winehouse & you can listen again to Angelina (& see Juliette dancing in the background) again in her outdoor cover of Valerie. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.
That is her family. She is proud of them. She will squeeze them in a vid if she can. 😎🇺🇲👍🌟💯
No Amy hair style but the beehive of Priscilla Presley of that era.
No..Presilla look,Elvis old gitar and piano..A tribut to Elvis..💟
She's 16 here and this is one of her best work of art. The hair was a symbolism to Elvis's wife Priscilla Presley. Great reaction Jennifer.
I know she plays the guitar, the piano and violin for sure. And i believe she speaks 5 languages
Grandma was the Exec. Producer and all of her grand babies are in the video. Good for Grandma.
I still remember your first reaction and your skepticism. "I'm not really a fan of child singers..."
And then your jaw dropped! Lol
The girl is just the best :)
She plays the guitar piano violin and flute. She's amazing.
A masterpiece!
Elvis got this song wrong, Angelina understood the song.
She is amazing. Plays piano. Flute guitar and some violin
Angelina sings it more in the way Mark James intended.
the little girls to angelina the evolution of her developments
Love your Angelina reactions. I’d delve into all of your questions, but living in Alaska most of the world beats me to these videos. I know our fellow Angels will answer every one.
Thank you for this video produced by Angelina’s Grandmother, with AJ just 16 years old last June when this was done.
The reigning Queen of jazz paid homage to the King of rock-n-roll. Everything about this production pays tribute to Elvis’ 1968 Come Back Special.
✨💎✨ 🕺🏻🎸🕯Thank you
This is a tribute to the Presley family.
Six years old, and 6 foot tall, and the voice that out of this world
It finally came to me! Anyone ever tell you that you look like Linsday Vonn?
Wow. Such a compliment…THANK YOU! 🥰
6'1"???!!! Crazy.
A nod to Priscilla Presley.
Well said!
Angelina plays 4 instruments; piano, guitar, violin and flute
Angelina actually can play violin flute and piano as well as guitar 🎸 and apparently speaks 4 languages fluently, just a all round amazing talented artist!
The common understanding is that little girls wandering among old beautiful things present Angelina wandering and finding her place in old beautiful songs.
Here are all her originals (and some other stuff).
"What is life" ua-cam.com/video/Bv0r77KN7RA/v-deo.html (she is 12);
Oslo - (a nostalgic song) ua-cam.com/video/R2HkKh_Cp8I/v-deo.html (she is about 12);

"Million Miles" ua-cam.com/video/XA1_CUaM52I/v-deo.html (this is an official music video) (age 14 she wrote it after the death of her grandfather) there is also version live in-studio ua-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/v-deo.html, and Lyrics video with the art made by her grandmother ua-cam.com/video/NhKRh5ZtuWk/v-deo.html;
"7th heaven" ua-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/v-deo.html (age 15) (she is 17 now).
Million miles ,and 7th Heaven is another both are her music written by her
The girls are supposed to be Angelina growing up...she always wore white dress when young and here she is in Elvis black....coming of age.
Nice reaction, was so good the 2 younger girls are here cousins and the older one is her sister
She does shield million miles and originals on her first one she wrote was what is life
Hi Jennifer, great reaction to a fairly recent video from Angelina, demonstration of great sensitivity in the arrangement, wonderful vocal quality and fantastic lyric narration...Amazing 16 years!!!Just yesterday she was hired by the World Football Federation to perform the new theme song, a simple song but which has allowed him a visibility of over 300 million people ... splendid, Thanks again from Italy ..
I'm starting to believe the others...she's an empath.
@@JenniferTakesI’m thoroughly enjoying watching Angelina remove your walls of doubt..nothing delights me more than seeing a sceptic turned round 🥰
Priscilla hair elvis guitar awesome vocals thats our barefoot princess wild bill

This is a tribute to Elvis from the black leather to the red guitar Elvis used on his 1968 comeback tour, the song it self he charted in 1969, the Percilla beehive hair do, the blue suede shoes on the couch, and the three little girls representing Lisa Marie growing up in Graceland (the setting) grandma Mery produced the video and Rob Christy on the piano (He also owns the red guitar) she is 16 here, the 2 youngest girls are her cousins, her uncle/managers kids and the older girl is AJs 11 year old sister Juliette,,
Eight month ago, she was 16. The two youngest girls are her cousins, the oldest is her little sister.

Hi .... Nice to see you again ! I'm the one that re lives that fourth grade smackdown whenever I see you. Nice reaction. Be well. 👍
(Try reacting to) Angie song she wrote "Shield". She was 11 when she wrote it. You'll see her at 12 performing it for TV2. Also remember that Angelina never sings a song the same way twice, so you could say they’ll all be 1st time reactions. ❤👍

Angelina doesn't cover songs - she uncovers them, delivering their essence to heart. Wonderful ❣️
Angelina's taste and restraint are unmatched. I think the hair is a nod to Priscilla Presley. I think you'd love her original 7th Heaven. Great reaction, Jennifer!

Thank you for another excellent resection to Angelina. She has owned me since her first performance as a 7-year-old.
Angelina has written five songs and had two written for her voice. Here are links to them:
age 12 - What is life: ua-cam.com/video/Bv0r77KN7RA/v-deo.html 2/6/18 - how an eleven-year-old puts into words the things which are important to her.
Written for her voice
age 13 - Song for A - ua-cam.com/video/Bo3mhxPM-uA/v-deo.html 20/7/19 - written by Russian classical composer Nico Cartosio as the only song for voice in his instrumental piece Melting. It is based on a 1783 poem by the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
age 13 - Above the water - ua-cam.com/video/rpdHJJQAd9Y/v-deo.html 30/1/20 - written by TRXD (Truis Drystad and David Atarrodiyan). It has an EDM genre beat
I am delighted that you knew the song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, and that he recorded it the year it was written. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat".
Side note: At 17, she has already grown to around 6 feet tall.

Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani is the executive producer of the performance. Two time Grammy award winner, Pianist, Rob Christie wrote the musical arrangement and Angelina created the vocal arrangement.
16 years old here at her covers her immaculate well done and she arrange this for sale
She arranges all her own music.
No words are needed your face explains everything. Thank you.
Love the voice
You’re a hoot, Pool!
@@mrstlu4838 Hehe. Maybe. Isn't that the sound of an owl or smt like that ?? Sometimes my lack of English terminology knowledge annoys the crap outta me 😁😁
@@poolhallshark What lack of?! You’re doing very well, indeed. “Being a hoot” is “being funny”, and you are appreciated by many, I think. I’m laid up at the moment and anything that puts a smile on my face is exceedingly welcome! 🙂🥰
@@mrstlu4838 So you're sick? I'm so sorry to hear that. Whatever is ailing you I wish you a very speedy recovery. And thank you very much for the explanation. After all, that is how I can develop my English even further🙂
Get well soon you hear?? 🥰🥰🥰
@@poolhallshark Thanks, it’s going to take a while 😕 I’m a big fan of winter sports, so I’ve been watching a “few” Norwegian flags being waived around lately, my kind of daytime TV!
Come to the rabbit hole there’s no escape

I read in one Bio that she really admired and was inspired by Elvis Presley.the hair honored Priscilla Presley.
