The reason the Astros were able to get their core was because of three straight 100 loss seasons in 2011, 2012, and 2013 gave them top draft picks. MLB actually had to change the rules to keep other teams from tanking like the Astros did.
@ianryan3760 This season, I've been saying that Houston can just reload and not necessarily rebuild. Even if Bregman doesn't establish a new deal with Houston, we've got a guy playing third base in the minors now that's almost major league-ready (Zach Dezenzo). Their last two drafts are starting to look pretty good, too.
its funny how everyone hates the cowboys (who is not from dallas) but people like the texans, while in baseball many don't like the astros, many do like the raners.
Statistically speaking, no one seems to actually care about the rangers. The lowest viewed World Series in history, game 1 was the lowest viewed game and only went down linearly by game 5. Also the cowboys are the Mets of football, completely different story
Rangers and Astros are the more historically successful teams in Texas football and Texas baseball, on a long enough timescale. Same reason people get tired of the LA Lakers, NY Yankees, St Louis Cardinals, etc.
@@RC_928 Well it’s more like the Mets in that they and the cowboys both act like their track record is as good historically as the Yankees lmao. With the Yankees it’s just the lack of recency and that a long time ago there was the lack of a luxury tax and other rules related to drafts to even the playing field and not just make it the success of the richest team
Nice glossing over the cheating scandal. "Oh, they did some stuff, but they didn't need to." Well, obviously in 2017 they did need to, apparently. Jesus. Also, if you say that they get into the ALDS X numbers of years in a row, that has to include 2020 - a year you've already said (in another video) doesn't count. So which is it?
Their team OPS+ was 111 last year, and is actually 116 this year so far. The ERA+ is...another matter. Went from 107 last year to *78* this year. I dont understand how that even happens
Missing a whole 6 man rotation to start the season and the bullpen being terrible all season while having to pitch more innings than the starters doesn't help.
No run of greatness lasts forever. I expect them to bounce back, but I believe the streak of seven straight LCS appearances will come to an end. They need to retool.
As an Astro fan, I don't think in terms of dynasty. We had a good run, with a good core set of players. This current teams is injured and living on borrowed time as the core will break up in a few seasons. It was exciting while it has lasted and lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. I don't see us going down to something like the 2015 season, but I can see the beginning of the end here.
2 rings in 6 seasons was never a “dynasty” to me lol but I guess that’s all semantics anyway. That being said it’s very early in the season in the season to call if they’re a bad team now or not.
The Astros currently sit at 10-19 with 3 straight wins. I think they rebound nicely with Verlander looking fantastic, Valdez being back, Javier and Urquidy coming back soon, and Abreu DFA'd. Abreu and Hader will rebound. Hader already has started to show signs of getting better. Nobody is elite this year, I think the Astros will be fine. They do need to hit big on a couple draft picks though.
Sadly, they couldn't make it 4 straight wins. But hey, 4 out of 5 ain't bad. Just gotta keep that up over the course of the next few months and bingo bango bongo, it's 8th straight ALCS time? Just... please no Texas Rangers or NY Yankees this year, kthxplz baseball gods? Baltimore Orioles would be a great change of pace!
The fact that they were placed in a weaker division sure helps fuel the dynasty. Had they remained in the NL Central facing StL, Milwaukee, and the Cubs in the late 2010’s. Doubt they would’ve had the same success.
If they lost their chance at the playoffs during the first four games of the season, there really wasn't much point. Losing the ALCS 2019 WS style (losing all 4 games at home again) to the in-state rival Texas Rangers was not the way to continue the ALCS streak, so what would October 2024 have in store for them anyway? .... stay tuned and maybe find out. But yeah, we'll see.
Ppl are over reacting. They are 10-19. But there are alot of games in the season...if we adjusted this to the nba they would be 5-9...if you saw the 2018 warriors start 5-9 would you say there season was over? Hell if any nba team started 5-9 you wouldnt say their season was over. Dont worry guys the astros aint goin anywhere. They still have abaolute bomberw in their line ip and fire breathers in their rotations
Have to stop throwing the name dynasty around when they only won 2 in a spread out period. Dynasty is when a team wins 3 or more in a short period of time whether it’s a 3 peat or 3 of 4 years
The Astros are probably done this year in 2024 but I hate saying this but they’ll be back in 2025. Winning 2 WS and (one of them was an asterisk) in a 6 year span isn’t a dynasty. Go look at the Chiefs that’s a dynasty. The last baseball dynasty was the Giants 2010, 2012, and 2014
Astros were a dynasty? Since when? They didn’t win 3 World Series in a row. They were the best a lot, for sure. But you have to win 3 in a row to be labeled a dynasty. Everyone knows that
Its still way too early to call anything, and I still see them making the playoffs. The roster at the major league level just has too much talent to not turn around their horrible start.
Hey, remember when Bregman was a "declining cheater"? Pepperidge Farm remembers..... To your credit, you did an "i was wrong" video. Anyway, considering the Rotation has gotten 2 massive pieces back, and will get another this weekend, PLUS 3 more over the course of the next couple month, aaaaand they just won their 3rd straight by walking off the best team in the AL? Id say its looking like you might be doing another "i was wrong" video by about the allstar break....
Oh look.....a week from the allstar break and the Astros are the hottest team in baseball and are currently a game and a half out of first place as the Mariners have begun their inevitable implosion after pretending to be a good baseball team for a month...... Rest of MLB wondering why the Jaws theme has started playing.... 🤔
the dynasty can’t end if it was never one to begin with 🤷🏽♂️ 2 chips in 7 years doesn’t cut it as a dynasty, sorry… i don’t count participation trophies.(getting to the ws)
If the bullpen straightens out, and rotation heals...look out. If not(or the hitters who are hitting get hurt). they drop to .500. Sadly, Jose Abreu is toast
Dynasty ended following that damn Game 7 loss to the Rangers. Best players are old and regressing (Altuve, Bregman, Tucker, Verlander) and they have a rookie manager with questionable lineups. Abreu is a disaster offensively and defensively and the farm System has been depleted. The reality is this team is probably done for a few years, might as well start rebuilding again
As a Yankee Fan, this makes me feel so much euphoria. Now as a baseball fan, it’s tough to watch such a talented roster go through such a hard time. Hope they get back on track soon
I’m so glad that the Astros are playing bad. I’m not Glad because they’re cheaters, but because they have been winning for a long time and now I can see them playing bad after a long time.
You’re way too short on Dusty Baker’s contribution to the astros success. He brought this team back on its feet after the AJ Hinch sign stealing stain.
@@TheIcecreamtacoCowboys are more like the Yankees. Fans that still ride their past success and expect every year to be their year.
@@gfox9295No matter their success. Football is still king in Texas
They were a good team either way is the point. Still cheated. Both can be true. Chill

Or how he was wrong about Joey Gallo.
I would hardly call one legitimate title a "dynasty". I don't care how many LCS titles they have, they've only won it all twice*.
Yes it’s over in April with 130 games to play.
“In 2017 everything changed”
Bang bang.
Good lowkey we need more teams to dominate
No run of greatness lasts forever. I expect them to bounce back, but I believe the streak of seven straight LCS appearances will come to an end. They need to retool.
As an Astro fan, I don't think in terms of dynasty. We had a good run, with a good core set of players. This current teams is injured and living on borrowed time as the core will break up in a few seasons. It was exciting while it has lasted and lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. I don't see us going down to something like the 2015 season, but I can see the beginning of the end here.
They should have had the title stripped in 2017. Then, fans wouldn’t hate them as much, it would be easier to forget.
That all we want strip the title then I can be ok but... The fact that it goes down in history that the wOn in 17 is what makes us mad.

I remember as a kid if you mentioned the Astros in public, someone would ask "Houston has a baseball team?" Good times, good times.
Like in the late 2000s?
Like during the 3 straight 100 loss seasons? Yeah.
I remember visiting Houston in the summer of 2011 and the sports talk of town was the upcoming Texans season.
Just a video idea. The Mets vs. Cards game from 4/28/24, is everything good with baseball.
Right now FanGraphs is saying Jose Abreu will be optioned to minors on their RosterResource lmao
It’s about time they start to fall apart but with being a month in I do think it’s a bit premature to call it
iTalkStudios can't have a dynasty with one legit ring and a stolen chip SWEET CHEEKS 🤓

2 rings in 6 seasons was never a “dynasty” to me lol but I guess that’s all semantics anyway. That being said it’s very early in the season in the season to call if they’re a bad team now or not.
Agree with you. Dynasty or no dynasty it was one of the more successful seven years runs in recent memory so it is what it is.
Update???

Who’s here after winning 10 of last 11? And being the 3 games off first place
The fact that they were placed in a weaker division sure helps fuel the dynasty.
Had they remained in the NL Central facing StL, Milwaukee, and the Cubs in the late 2010’s. Doubt they would’ve had the same success.
I think that sweep by the Yankees set the tone for there szn. They missing the playoffs
Lol at all the folks getting butthurt over the Astros getting called a Dynasty🤣. The tears are always refreshing
It’s time for them to bash the panic button. The title should say is not May be
Have to stop throwing the name dynasty around when they only won 2 in a spread out period. Dynasty is when a team wins 3 or more in a short period of time whether it’s a 3 peat or 3 of 4 years
Here comes all the Astros fans crying

A Dynasty that ended with 2 World Series rings but only 1 legit ring 😂😂
You end the day by playing two rusty trombones.
@@anthonymartinez0865…..what?
Its official on MLBs website so cry me a river
Hasn’t ended yet punk!
The Houston Astros desperately need some fresh legs on the roster and to control the injury bug that is killing their pitching staff.
Well they got rid of the trash can.
Gotta resign their best player 🗑️
As a Yankee Fan, this makes me feel so much euphoria. Now as a baseball fan, it’s tough to watch such a talented roster go through such a hard time. Hope they get back on track soon

How are the Astros considered a dynasty? They only have legitimate title since 2017. Horrible video.
They can turn it around it's not over
That's how us Mariners fans felt for 21 years
Lol
You’re way too short on Dusty Baker’s contribution to the astros success. He brought this team back on its feet after the AJ Hinch sign stealing stain. He kneaded these guys into a well oiled machine working with each other. With Dusty gone what remains of the astros is a bunch of over inflated egos, the whole team concept and spirit is gone.
@iTalk Studios Their 2017 WS win isnt tainted. Maybe in the eyes of bitter Dodgers/Yankees fans. So no asterisk=not tainted.
It was going to happen eventually. But hey, the Astros won two championships. That's more than my Yankees have done since 2001.
Idk I think the pieces we moved these last two days might have us back in roll
