I dont know if he will consider what Dembe did as betrayal. Mr. Kaplan betrayed Red by trying to separate Liz from him, saying she was carrying out his true intentions. Dembe is actually trying to keep Liz and Red together. He isn't helping Liz, but he is keeping her secret. After all, what does knowing Liz turned him in really do for Red? He is still in jail. He isnt going to kill her. He cant undo it. Nothing he does to manipulate her will work. Telling Red about Liz would only destroy him during a time he needs to concentrate on his trial.
It is kind of Red's fault, I mean he didn't say that Jennifer was not his daughter when he should have, and he tried to hide the bones...anyone would think he's an imposter if in Liz's shoes.
Dembe hasn't betryaed Red. Does he have a secret that he keeps from Red, yes, but he hasn't done anything to betray Red in a sense of causing harm to him.
The Navy officer having had that name means nothing, it was just his birth name, no meaning in it. The Red we know is the self-made international criminal Raymond Reddington.
