+Ernest Bynum This is probably stupid of me to say but I don't get how the kid got shot, did he get in the way of the robber who got shot or what? or is there something more clever to it?
One of my favorite music videos ever. From my interpretation, the young boy is a euphemism for the unwise decisions a grown man can make when he has no direction in life. The representation of alcohol serves the same point. The man stumbling into the liquor store to get more alcohol after already being unable to walk during the hours of daylight, when at the same time he probably has a family at home to take care of in which he never did. The young boy turned into the grown man, and made this decision because he had no one to show him how to be a real man when he was young.
Kicks2Intelligence. It's also a really sad reality alot of communities go through, I live that struggle. Alot of people do, but I love how you word it, but the pain hits both ways.
@JayoJay Nah the young boy is the kid inside of him cuz at the end of the day we are all just kids. The same comin out the womb as when we pass. We just catch experiences, damage, and baggage that make us act the way we do. But you dont ever just feel like an "adult". And when you're from a place where being a man is being tough and being able to take anything you want by force, you end up doing shit like the man in the video until you get bitten(or shot in this case) and you're revealed to be just a kid getting into shit he shouldnt have. Cuz in the end you're just a kid who doesnt wanna die.
Love your interpretation. That shit hits for me and Id like to point out Docs line "Taking shots for bros we lost when we was young- That really ain't deserve to die". It seems relevant. Also, I think @Jumpman and @Jayojay are right too cus otherwise the clerk would have gotten points for a collat or atleast a double kill
This song is deep, but the video really drives it home. The young boy represents who the man truly is, just an innocent victim of the place he was at - someone who doesn't belong in the situation he finds himself in. Like a boy he lacks proper judgement, and thinks he is invincible. Like the boy, he has so much to learn, but his life is cut short. Like the boy, he may have been dragged into these types of situations by those who should have looked out for him. However, even if he hadn't been with the boy that day, the boy may have well suffered the same fate - finding a gun one day outside the store. This video captures some seriously deep story telling in a simple, but graphic scene.
Jeezus C. I feel ya man, I just got out. Got my freedom finally & showing up to this party WAY late, but I'm closing the door behind me before this party blows! 👻✌
I fell like earthgang should be in the Atlanta show they are the future for atl hip hop they are so amazing honestly u can't doubt them these guys are beyond what we call human
+Darrel Be Man I've been waiting! I bang Shallow Grave to this day, they have this Outkast vibe but are absolutely they own people, doing their own thing and I love it. When I discovered them it was like being struck by lightning and it just kept hitting me.
This video is beautiful. Earthgang is what the south and hip hop in general needs! Tired of rap artists giving excuses for uncreative videos due to budgets and bs. BE FUCKIN CREATIVE, or at least competent enough to come up with a video plot without twerkin thots, cars, and fuckery EVERY VIDEO.
This video is so amazing at first it got me confused but as i watched i got to understand what it is all about. just a young boy who thinks he is a man, he does not even know how to use a gun but tries to rob a store because a big evil bullsh*t inside him overpowered his contious the good in him was defeated... thanks guys 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Doctur Dot did an Instagram Live feed a couple weeks ago, and I asked him if he would ever work with Zay. His response was "How do you know we don't got shit with Zay in the stash right now?" THE SONGS EXIST SO GET AT THEM TO RELEASE THAT SHIT
Nick Cabrera I agree with ya💯 Get the money & notoriety they deserve. But I'm do get where people are coming from cause the music does & will change with them blowing up! It's just a part of the business. Hopefully they can keep doing "Them" as long as possible! Thx #ZaneSmithMusic for suggesting these guys👌
Nick Cabrera because when rappers blow up it's not like any other genre, they completely turn to shit. Wiz khalifa for example half been shit for years now that he blew up.
Nick Cabrera because they understand that when money gets involved, or fame, people tend to switch up since it’s more about the business than the talent. Of course they want everyone to hear their fav artist, but most, of not all artists get worse as they progress since the earlier stuff is made to get noticed, is more emotional, and more pure to the artist imo.
" THIS THAT MIGHT SEE TWENTY-FIVE !! " , EarthGang is gonna put Atlanta on even more then it already is. Hopefully we will get to work with them in the near future. Glad to see that they got some attention while opening up for Mac.
I've been sleeping on earthgang...MacMiller bought me here... I've been sleeping on Mac Miller also. I'M 37 and like most people my age we hate the new music... also I listen to a lot more reggae rock Style music... but here lately I've been giving new music chance, there's some really great artists. Earthgang kind of reminds me of early Outkast.. But completely fresh and in their own style!!
Best song I’ve ever heard by EarthGang to this day. This song conveys an extremely powerful message and story that needs to be understood. Education through music 💯
Saw this almost a year or more later and I viewed it differently this time. Made me feel things! They're ahead of time. Such a great video. Hope they never loose this vibe ✌
EG are legends!!! This was my introduction to them and the GODDESS Mereba!!! Legends in the making in this video! Before Mereba was even with SV I think, this track is fire and this video hits deep!
I swear everytime I listen to flatbush and earthgang it's hard to tell apart sometimes they both got something special going on and I'm very happy to live during this dope shit
I just gotta take a second to appreciate the ROTDIII project for introducing me to EarthGang 🙏 like the fact this shit was uploaded 2015 blows my mind how artists with this much talent and creativity are still flying under the radar. The ATL sound + soulful rhythm + lyrical word play is just beautiful to listen to and has so much lively energy in every song. I grew up on hip hop it's been the center of my upbringing. But out of all the great lyricists and melodic vocalists, none have combined the two aspects in such a naturally artistic way that the energy of the song carries a life of its own. This is what future 🐐🐐🐐 look like
Dam that Revenue line by Doctur Dot is fire!!!!! so dope. "It's Doctur The loopiest Nubian you ever knew, Pray to god everyday for some new revenue Revenue, revenue, revenue, revenue!"
There was a void for me when Outcast departed. Fortunately, the position has has been filled by EARTHGANG. Any others who applied I will hold your application for 90 days.

No your wrong bc the young boy died

Or he's a grown man ignoring his inner kid who wants to stop him.
Feel ashamed of myself. Slept on EarthGang so long. Listening to this in 2019 and Issa Bop
I was one of the first viewers of this video and i LOVE SEEING COMMENTS LIKE THIS. EARTHGANG FOREVER.
I don‘t think the world is ready yet for such an eargasm!

Sounds perfect everytime i listen to it 😢❤

Saw them in concert and now really starting to like them. Crazy flow, great production, and it's different
sad thing is that there is millions of people out there that would love this track,
Meet these cats last night. Much love and respect. Keep doing y'all thing
I don't get it. How does a "supportive" fan not want their artist to blow up and succeed? That's pretty selfish if you ask me lol.
Nick Cabrera I agree with ya💯 Get the money & notoriety they deserve. But I'm do get where people are coming from cause the music does & will change with them blowing up! Casper the Sucka Free Ghost the real ones will stay real.
Nick Cabrera because when rappers blow up it's not like any other genre, they completely turn to shit. Wiz khalifa for example half been shit for years now that he blew up.
I want them to blow up so their music can play on the radio
