    Considering you have driven so many vehicles Topher, I will take it that you were pleasantly impressed by the Rogue. That's good enough for me. A nice all around vehicle for the real world and the odd trail.

      Have fun when the cvt can't handle offroading anymore and destroys itself

    • @paultruesdale7680
      @paultruesdale7680 Місяць тому +2

      From my experience, the only thing a CVT needs is frequent oil changes, if you drive it hard. Otherwise over a hundred thousand miles is generally possible. Depends on the drivers learning curve.

    • @aturner
      @aturner Місяць тому +1

      @@paultruesdale7680 Well if you are willing to buy that thing and expect 100k miles I guess you are it's target audience. I personally wouldn't take a "generally possible" to get me over 100k miles. Still it shouldn't be marketed as "offroad". You know someone will inevitably try and rock crawl with it and blow of the trans and then blame the CVT. Thus the negative opinion cycle of CVT continues. Don't get me wrong I love the concept of a CVT but the current implementations of it are god awful and just frankly unreliable.

      Thanks to computer brake locking systems, lots of vehicles are now able to go far deeper than previously possible without transfer cases, 4WD low, proper tires and lockers.
      The hardest part for me, is the sticker is the same now, without all the mechanicals.
      All the UA-camrs spending a day or a few weeks then they give them back to the manufacturer so we don’t see the real wear and tear after all that activity off road.

    As an owner of a 2023 murano sl, I still don’t have faith to do off-roading by its cvt even tho I got the VQ 3.5 engine. To be honest, the VQ engine is a true legend, however, its potential gets limited by CVT. I know nothing is perfect, plus, I prefer the look of a murano better than pathfinder. So, if Nissan changes his mind, that they will bring the VQ engine back while using the 10 speed or 9 speed transmission on the next 2025 murano, man! How sweet that dream can be!

      Off roading aside, Nissan’s CVTs are why I’ve shied away from getting a Maxima, it’s a dope car from the looks of it but the transmission has kept me away

  • @SamLed1111

    My fellow Genx'ers remember when Nissan (and Datsun) was at the top of their game. The Maxima, aka 4DSC (four door sports car), the OG 300zx, the Xterra (which are still around here in SB with 300k on the odo), the OG Pathfinder, etc. What happens when greed and hubris get in the way of building a quality product. EV's didn't help things. I guess that's the automobile industry today, i.e.: Stellantis.

    I don’t want to always be a naysayer, but honestly these trails look hardly any worse than the mountain road I drove in South Dakota in a Toyota Sienna. Apart from the rock that they had you climb, I can’t really think of any modern car that would struggle with this course.

      This is from Nissan US:
      2025 Rock Creek ::
      HD Intelligent Around View® Monitor with Off-Road Mode
      17" Dark-painted aluminum-alloy wheels with all-terrain tires
      Unique Rock Creek® front fascia and grille
      Black tubular roof rack
      Exclusive Rock Creek leatherette seats with unique centers and Rock Creek badging
      Unrelated, it's like Hyundai's XRT line. Why anybody would anybody spec an "off-road" Palisade?

    • @paultruesdale7680
      @paultruesdale7680 Місяць тому

      @@paultruesdale7680 well Im just a new driver and people here in the middle east dont exactly follow the rules of the road properly so Im just asking so I have control over the steering and dont accidentally hit someone with the seven seater I have especially when changing lanes😅

      Choose a crossover with a low center of gravity, good driver assist technology and check the IIHS crash data on UA-cam.
      Not sure if it’s law in your country, but always wear your seat belt, get plenty of practice when traffic is at its lightest and best of luck. 👍

    This vehicle is not for off-road. It's for unpaved back roads at best. No person who knows about off-roading would take an AWD or CVT vehicle off-roading. That vehicle is just for looks, I won't buy it for off-roading.

      Honda may buy a share of the company I read. But yes they will file for bankruptcy if they don't turn it around. I think it will be a good thing . Nissan will be forced to fix their product portfolio and hopefully go back to their roots (if that's even possible at this point).
