I feel like the hooping is one of the biggest cause for bad embroidery and "registration issues". I misstook registration issue with a bad hooping multiple time, because of those rectangular hoops. A brother PR1055x or a small home machine are the same, one is stiffer and looks better but they share the same problem as you mentionned. I really don't know why they don't improve their hoop design, it's been years and every faces that holds the fabric are smooth, why don't they add little ball points all around to add more friction. Magnetic hoops are indeed the solutions for now

When you use mighty hoops do you use a table or tubular hoop support for your machine??
