    All the riders want to be world champion. Duh. As noted, MV can be very fast on his day, but his fast days are very rare, and likely to be even more rare on the KTM. Fast in testing. Fast in practice. Mid-pack (or worse) in the race. This contract is his last hurrah IMO.

    Mav is what i call a "fair weather rider" very similar to Lorenzo if everything is perfect from the bike to the track conditions they are unstoppable. Give them a comfy mattress and they will sleep perfectly but put a pea under the mattress and they wont sleep well🤷‍♂️

    • @stoicthedog
      @stoicthedog 3 дні тому +1

      I think that's a little unfair on Lorenzo. Dry weather or wet weather, he was on it. Mixed weather and he was lost. He was also, mostly, decent off the line and could put himself in a position on lap 1 or 2 where he had a chance. And then there's Mav. Mav is exactly as you say. Needs everything, bike, weather, track temp, fingernail length, phase of the moon, perfect to be fast and he'll still probably fluff the start and make his life difficult. MV is just a mid pack rider that managed to blag some top tier opportunities.

      @ need more people in this world to have civil conversations and have the ability to be open to others views . My views on Lorenzo are bias i must admit because ive never liked his cocky attitude so i like to trash him every chance i get but i know he was damn good 🤣😂

      @@johnaquad Agreed. Turns out your views are the same as mine. Was never really a Lorenzo fan but could respect his craft. And I did my fair share of bitching about him, though only to a friend who was a die hard fan. Too fun winding him up. Ha ha. For me, MotoGP is about the bikes and tech. Don't really care who wins, just want a good race to watch. I'll admit bias towards Aprilia as I own one. Ha ha

    1:38 wow what a surprise, Yamaha trusting the man who made the brand legendary, a 9 time world champion, their ambassador, instead of a no one who had one a couple of races on the Suzuki.
    Im astonished they did that😮

    Once again, in Mavericks world there can be nothing other than 'what he wants". To be an alien or world champion, a rider MUST adapt and adapt almost instantly. That being said, in todays electronic and aero dominated road racing world, somethings arent capable of being made to be at the sharp ond of the grid. But, even if Mav was on a Ducati, he still would not be a champion. He doesnt adapt well, whines about giving him what he wants and rides timidly to avoid potential crash's. That last one is where the differences in performance come from. To be able to push a bike to its limit, learn the warning signs of taking it too far, you must crash, and crash much more often than Mav does. ALthough I am not a fan of the person he is, Marc is the prime example of using this technique to master his machine. Mav is talented but doesnt have the ability to win a championship and certainly wont ever do it at KTM.

      Your wrong, all riders and drivers for that matter are only as good as the steed the have to operate and the team around them. If a manufacturer isn't willing to make changes then is what it is, riders and drivers don't forget how to be fast especially champions. However they do lose confidence and that kills speed consistency

      @@stoicthedog maverick was right. maverick had a very agressive point and shoot riding style which is current modern motogp riding style to go fast meanwhile fabio used to have a smooth riding, fast and flowing style that won him motogp title.
      however due to recent improvement and dominant from v4 engines has favored point and shoot style more in order to go faster, which left inline 4 yamaha behind
      so now even the yamaha and fabio has started to change their riding style so much to mimic point and shoot. fabio openly said that these 2 years he has changed alot in how he rode the bike into point and shoot style and fabio himself complained about the lack of rear grip for this style of riding which maverick been complaining
      now fabio himself is whining and he did throw tantrum. you just choose not to see it when he complain in the garage plenty of time about the rear sliding too much

    Just reading the title and not watching yet says it all. The Japanese manufacturers be it Honda or Yamaha don't listen and never really have, it's always taken a very head strong rider and engineer to get those guys to respond and give the rider what he needs, doohan had to do it and still got ignored alot, Rossi especially going to Yamaha had to get them to change.. both riders had Jeremy Burgess as engineer but overall they force thier will and design believes on the rider. Been happening as far back as I can remember... now they are nowhere on the grid.

He won straight outta the box. Then boom.. New swingarm, chassis, telemetry... He should have more say in his personal bike, it is HIS damn feel that put THEIR BIKE on the Podium! P.s. Huge Rossi fan, but Golden Boy shouldn't have a say on someone else's bike!

      @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains 2 дні тому

      jack miller have been on a good bike for half his life and he couldn't do shit. maverick had a point and shoot agressive riding style which fits all the dominant v4 engine bikes. yamaha at the point of maverick exit favor more fast and flowing smooth style over point and shoot as it lacks the rear grip for this style.
      however today, even yamaha is dropping fast and flowing style for more point and shoot. fabio also changed his riding style alot to point and shoot and his complaining yamaha doesn't ahve the rear grip
      maverick isn't wrong, his riding style was ahead of time.

    LMAO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
    What more can you say? Mav will NEVER be world champion, not exactly a hot take, he just doesnt have what it takes.
    Hes one of the most overrated riders on the grid, tho I think after the last few seasons in Aprilia people are starting to figure out hes a farce.
    Being fast once or twice a season doesnt exactly qualify you to be a world champ caliber rider.
    "Oh but the bike" well look at someone who had a MUCH MUCH worse bike than Vinales, Quartararo, the guy who demolished him while they were teammates. Fabio constantly, despite all the issues the Yamaha has, outperformed the bike, almost every weekend, he put that bike in places it shouldnt have been.
    So no Mav, doesnt matter if Yamaha had listened to you or not, you would never have been world champion. That would only have happened if Yamaha had a dominant bike, GP24 levels of dominance and his teammate was someone like Augusto Fernandez or Nakagami
