So glad I came across your video. This is a game changer for me. I am primarily a Jazz pizz player and have always felt that something was wrong with my thumb position technique. Thank you thank you.

This is perfect for me right now! My solo this year is Russian sailors dance and most of it is in thumb position so this will really help me. Thank you!

Can you please make a video about double stops in thumb position? I'm currently doing the dittersdorf and am struggling to find a good comfortable hand/finger shape while playing the cadenza

Thanks for these videos. Love your technique - I'm way off, but working at it! If you get to answer this, I'd love to know what is a typical action for the strings at the octave harmonic point. My thumb gets a massive dent in it, and I'm wondering if it's because I've got a weak thumb or an action that's too high!

Thanks for the lesson Lauren and welcome to Aus! What city are you in, and what orchestra are you working with?

Hey Daniel, thanks so much. I'm in Melbourne and I'm not working with an orchestra at the moment but I would love to :)

Thanks for the video! A problem I have in thumb position is that my thumb buckles as soon as I press down with my other fingers.. what’s strange is that when I’m just pressing with my thumb I can hold a good hand position, but as soon I press down any other finger, the bottom knuckle of my thumb just caves into my hand. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I Think Thumb Position Is The Holy Grail Of The Instrument And Bassist Keep The Knowledge To Themselves Or Maybe If I Put Bandages On My Thumb I Can Ease The Pain. The Pain Is Horrible. I Just Can't Get Used To The Pain And That's Just Problem With The G String, The E String Is Murder. If I Get To Play A Full Scale On Thumb Position I'm Going To Have A Big Party Celebration. There's Nothing Like Plucking On Thumb Position And Crying Lord All Mighty jejeje. I Have An Adjustable Bridge, But Is At Its Lower Point.
