    perfect timing ... saved me about $75 since quote was to replace the cord and possibly the recoil. Getting the cord from Stihl tomorrow and following your advice. Thanks.

    Thank you, Bobbi. Very clear, well done video. I appreciate you emphasizing the potential 'gotcha' of not winding the replacement cord on clockwise.

    Thank you! That was a straight forward presentation. 4’ of cord was $6.

    Thanks! I was going to just drop mine off at the dealer, but any way I can save money during these crazy times I’ll take it! I’m going to have to check out more of your videos , the biscuits in the Dutch oven look amazing !(in your intro video)

    Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

    The plastic wheel you wrap the chord around in the housing won't spin freely at all on mine. Exact same model. Cant figure it out.

    At 3:15 in the video you can see in that a single black rotor pawl is in the rotor pulley assembly. You reassemble it without replacing it. I lost one when I took mine apart. Will it work ok with only one or should I get a replacement? Do you know what their function is?

    • @sarahjohnson9106
      @sarahjohnson9106 6 років тому

      I may have just answered part of my own question because when I looked up the pawl on a parts diagram for the blower it is only showing a single even though there are two slots for one. I had seen two pawls supplied in chainsaw pull start rebuild kits. I dropped the rotor pulley on disassembly and pieces went flying. When I picked them back up I just figured I had lost one pawl.

    Hello how much string are you supposed to use? Thank you

    • @BobbiMeyer
      @BobbiMeyer  2 роки тому

      Its roughly around 3 feet, but you'll have to wind it around the spindle, then make sure it pulls the excess back in when you crank it...you can always cut some off if its too long, but you can't put it back if you cut off too much.

    • @greetswithfire1868
      @greetswithfire1868 6 років тому +1

      If you have a Stihl blower like this, make sure the torx set you buy has a T27 size. Not all sets have this size.

  • @HowfenPhotoKing

    How do you know how much string you need,?

    • @BobbiMeyer
      @BobbiMeyer  3 роки тому

      just guessing, around 6 ft. depends on the size of the loin and how close together you place your loops

    Stihl are the best, they know 2-cycle engines like no other maker. Be sure to drain the fuel before storing during winter. Old fuel is the enemy of engine life. Good job BM.

    It's much easier to thread the end of the cord through the pulley if you do this: cut the cord to length. Heat one end of the cord with a lighter until it melts THEN: using a paper towel, pinch the melted tip of the cord to form it into a cone/needle. Wait until it solidifies - it will go through the little holes MUCH easier than if you had just melted it and left it a blob.
